As much as I like seeing TFL mod your trucks for overlanding/off-roading, have you ever considered modding trucks to make them more confident tow rigs? Not trying to increase capacity/capability, but just making them a truck that helps the driver feel more comfortable towing?

Andre look at how professional car-haulers tie down vehicles = Below the suspension. You connected the strap hooks to the tow hooks on the front of the Buhanka. Couple of good bounces, the suspension cycles, and those hooks could come off. Much better to attach to axle Below the suspension (just like you did in the back). Stay safe my friend.

I love the diesel for towing, but I hate the expensive repairs due to all of the pollution equipment - new turbo at 90k, and the list goes on. My brother-in-law's Cummins had the same problem. I took the same route to Moab EJS last year towing my Willy's Jeep on a flat trailer behind my Ram 1500 with 3:92 gears. It does very well with the 6500 pound trailer. I got into a snow storm and had the same snow melting chemicals all over my rig. Had to stop in Grand Junction and wash it off before going on. Love snow but hate the salt.

From what I can tell the std axle on a cummins is 3.73. A 4.10 is available on the Hemi. I haven't done the math on what that equates to for torque at the wheel on a Hemi but the 4.10/Hemi with crew cab is rated for 16,880 pounds towing cap whereas the 3.73 drops to 14,380. With about double the torque of a Hemi, the Cummins boasts about 19,000 pounds. It becomes less of a matter of what the two vehicles can pull and more a matter of mileage. Then again, at about a dollar a gallon more for diesel and the added cost of diesel maintenance/parts, I'm not sure the Hemi is such a bad option especially if most of the time you're not hauling large loads. Gotta admit though, 37's or 40's look pretty darn cool. With then Hemi/4.10 I'm not sure I'd go bigger than 35's. Thoughts on 37's with that Hemi/4.10 combination?
