it won't, also most hunts initiated by predators aren't successful, most of the time, the prey gets away actually, the kestrel has had a bad grip on the angle eitherway, and if the pigeon flew away shortly after, the kestrel would be too much out of stamina to grab it, he would have lost it eitherway + animals literally save other animals by their sheer presence in nature, because sometimes when an animal comes by which is large, they might scare small predators that try to hunt another animal off (cape-buffalos do this)

I once saved this beautiful blue jay from dying from the grasps of the red tailed hawk. The other time I couldn’t since it was up in the trees and in another property. I saw it chase 2 of them and sadly got one. I wish I was able to save the blue jay but it’s nature, they need to eat so I let it off.
