you should add UV reflecting window tint...thatll stop UV yellowing. The amount of pieces you have in sets ALONE is absolutely insane tbh, let alone the rest. Shits super impressive, till you see all the bins chocked full of a few million more and realize just how HUGE of an amount there is

I was just coming here to say this but realize I’m a bit late to this video’s release. This is the best answer. Only thing I’d say is go overkill and do inside and out. 😅

Sunlight (ultraviolet light) doesn't only affect the color of Lego, it also degrades Lego plastic. It makes it brittle. The most damaging kind of ultraviolet light goes right through clouds and right through ordinary glass. I try to keep Lego away from sunlight completely.

For your bin room may I suggest, each section is a letter. Each row is a number , each bin is a letter. Ko5b, section k, shelf 5, bin b . B09f, section b, row 9, bin f. Finding things is so much faster.
@ryan-herath

I love the overflow stickers. I did something similar but numbered all my bins with a price gun. The price gun stickers are super cheap and easy to change out if needed. I put the bin number on the left side of each handle. If I have more of that part in bulk, I put them in a larger bulk container and place the location sticker of the overflow bin on the lower right corner of the original bin. It makes finding restock really easy.

You should get numbered colored stickers! A few sets. So if it's a white 47 on the bin you showed, you can stick a white 47 on the bin(s) that hold the extra

If you want to prevent yellowing at the windown, just stick UV filtering sheets on the window panes. It's pretty easy to do without leaving bubbles (think phone protector application) and will completely solve the issue.

You can put UV absorbing foils on the windows. They darken the window a little bit, what is good for filming, and they cancel the yellowing-effect on your lego.

No one likes to dust their lego collection. As a moderate SW lego buyer, you need a cabinet system. Modify an existing cabinet you can buy to where dust cannot get in, and then never dust them. Can it get expensive? A bit. But I feel like what's more costly to your time and sanity is the exponential accumulation of dust when you slowly add more sets. And you also kind of lock yourself into sets that will fit into that system which can be helpful in limiting what you buy. I still won't touch the Moff Gideon cruiser because, while it would fit, isn't worth the space it would take up because of how mid it is. And you can still have some really big sets, you just have to hand dust those ones every 6 months or so instead of those plus ALL of the smaller ones.

Look into the Rubbermaid twin track for shelves. They hold a lot more weight and you can move the selves as you increase your sets or reorganize. And the price is good for what you get. I recently installed a 5 foot wide shelf by 7 feet high. Only cost me about $200 for everything.

I truly feel that it's not efficient or sensical for a LEGO Moc builder to hoard, store, and organise an entire collection of loose parts, buying and taking apart bulk and sets just to fill an entire wall of shelves and storage. Maybe I'll start a business where I buy an immense amount of pieces, like thousands of everything, where people come and pick, build, use what they need, and pay for parts used if taking home, so you essentially skip the middle man of using brick websites and storing at home, and just build what you need at a store. Because when you've got all that bulk leftover, its just that, leftover, and unless you're rich an American with a big house, it's just not possible. Imagine this LEGO MOC business as a subscription model thing like Netflix, instead of you owning an entire DVD archive of every movie and show to watch whenever, you just watch select things at a vastly reduced cost.

Just a big parts collection to build basically anything. I have a small parts collection that I built my first little moc of a cowboy by a creek with his horse with a month ago? Or 3 weeks ago. I'd also like to have a lego city, but not a typical flat one, one that has quite a bit of terrain details etc. I have a lot of my lego city sets still built otherwise I'd have a lot more bulk parts but saving them for my future city.
