Happy New Year Matthew. Im interested in setting up a fish room similar to yours. Would love to see a video where you run through all the costs in a running fish room. Extra utility costs? Anything extra you need to run given theres alot of addition electrical appliances on the house system? Issues with humidty? Pros and cons??? I reckon im not the only one thinking the same. Could make a good video perhaps.

Good call on going with a Fowler. Maybe some smaller Angels? Just think it should be fish that we never see in a reef tank.

Yes, I love the smaller angel plan!

The new fowlr tank looks great. Nice scape and keeping the lights at a lower rate will help negate algae outbreaks. Can’t believe how quiet that DC pump you installed plus you saved quite a bit of $$ by not using a brand name one.

Did you put a zip tie on the hose where it connects to the pump?
@MyFirstFishTank2 жыл бұрын
I honestly can't remember. Usually I use plastic hose clamps for that job, since I've tried zip ties and I can never get them tight enough to work effectively there.

Happy new year Matthew…. Nice idea with a fowler tank…. It was a really good update… , I really like your videos… i have learned so much from both your channels you’re own and on brs… don’t know how you manage 5 tanks even if you have someone’s help to do water changes and testing… My tank is settling down now at the six month mark and i finally have coraline alge growing in my tank just started dosing my tank with all for reef… and its helping already after 7 days… 😁 keep up the good videos 👍👏🐠

I just put a sicce syncra in the evo 13.5 coral qt I have. It’s pretty loud I was surprised. Unfortunately that tank is in my room.
@MyFirstFishTank2 жыл бұрын
It is surprisingly loud right? Get this other pump if you can. Super quiet!!!
@KnarBurger2 жыл бұрын
@@MyFirstFishTank I think it actually has to do mostly with the cord position, at least for me. I walked into my room the other day and actually freaked out for a second because all I could hear was the fan on the light and not much else so I thought it shut off. Turned out I must have bumped the cord earlier doing something and not noticed. I just have to adjust it every now but i am fine with that. Pretty quiet now so I’m pleasantly surprised.

Fantastic video I would post this on brs video but I do not know if you would get it also I would like to think you for helping me out with dr tim ammonia , I've had my tank setup for a year now and since August 21 2021 my no3 has been 0ppm and my phosphates are 0ppm since July 15 2021 on September 6 I had 0.06 phosphate but that day my LFS test and had 0ppm. And so far I've done seven water changes with the same results I've also taking it to two different LFS and every time they check it's the same thing 0ppm my aquarium is 94 gal with a 40-gallon breeder DIY sump 60 lb of dry Rock 1 bio block 7 fish as of right now but you have no one cannot tell me why my protector looks decent with these numbers but I can say with my old 55 gallon aquarium it was horrible. I have live rock with green hair algae my no3 was around 10 to 20 ppm and my phosphates was around 35 ppm and with me doing 30 gallon water changes every two weeks could not fix it I almost did not want to start my new tank build
@MyFirstFishTank2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to write this, and you are right, I don't always see the comments at BRS. Sounds like a bit of a testing mystery for sure!

You may want to check with your UV manufacture but I don’t believe the way you have your UV installed ( upside down ) will work. All your water will flow under the bulb and never flow all around the bulb. Hope I’m wrong but I’d double check with the manufacturer.
@MyFirstFishTank2 жыл бұрын
You definitely could be right! I'm going to check right now! Thanks for the heads up!!!
