Jesus never went to hell. God cannot go to a place like that. The reason hell is not talked about much, is because God doesn't know much about hell. God didn't create such a place. It just formed by itself, according to Genesis.

Also God can do everything and anything he wills to do, and it was his will that he save us. Therefore, this being what was necessary (Jesus being of man also I think you forget about that part) in order to cover our sins is what was done

@@allennolan Is hell a place of eternal suffering? No. The original words translated as “hell” in some older Bible translations (Hebrew, “Sheol”; Greek, “Hades”) basically refer to “the Grave,” that is, the common grave of mankind. The Bible shows that people in “the Grave” are in a state of nonexistence. ● The dead are unconscious and so cannot feel pain. “Neither work, nor reason, nor wisdom, nor knowledge, shall be in hell.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10, Douay-Rheims Version) Hell is not filled with sounds of pain. Instead, the Bible says: “Let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave [hell, Douay-Rheims].”-Psalm 31:17; King James Version (30:18, Douay-Rheims); Psalm 115:17. ● God has set death, not torment in a fiery hell, as the penalty for sin. God told the first man, Adam, that the penalty for breaking God’s law would be death. (Genesis 2:17) He said nothing about eternal torment in hell. Later, after Adam sinned, God told him what his punishment would be: “Dust you are and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3:19) He would pass out of existence. If God were actually sending Adam to a fiery hell, He surely would have mentioned it. God has not changed the punishment for defying his laws. Long after Adam sinned, God inspired a Bible writer to say: “The wages sin pays is death.” (Romans 6:23) No further penalty is justified, because “the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin.”-Romans 6:7. ● The idea of eternal torment is repugnant to God. (Jeremiah 32:35) Such an idea is contrary to the Bible’s teaching that “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) He wants us to worship him out of love, not fear of eternal torment.-Matthew 22:36-38. ● Good people went to hell. The Bibles that use the word “hell” indicate that faithful men, such as Jacob and Job, expected to go to hell. (Genesis 37:35; Job 14:13) Even Jesus Christ is spoken of as being in hell between the time of his death and his resurrection. (Acts 2:31, 32) Obviously, then, when “hell” is used in these Bibles, it simply refers to the Grave.

I cried during this. I have been a born again Christian for 30 years and didn’t know about what Jesus actually did the 3 1/2 days. I was under the assumption that he presented his spotless blood as a sacrifice to the Heavenly Father on behalf of the sins of the world. After that he went to get the keys to death, hell, and the grave. I am so humbled by his sacrifice and what he endured. Thank you for this teaching.

Actually Jesus did not go to hell. He went to a 'holding' place if you will for the righteous. The finished work on the cross was all that was required to pay the price for our sins. He said "It is finished" He was without sin. He has never been separated from His father. He has and always will remain in the trinity.

Yes, to say that Jesus Christ died spiritually violates doctrine. Christ is God and is eternal (John 1:1 KJV, Hebrews 1:8-10 KJV, John 14:9 KJV, 1 John 5:20 KJV, Titus 2:13 KJV, Isaiah 9:6 KJV). The scriptures are endless because the whole Bible talks about Jesus Christ (John 5:39 KJV, Luke 24:27,44 KJV, Hebrews 10:7 KJV) What died on the cross was the body/flesh (Romans 8:3 KJV, Hebrews 10:4-5 KJV) This is why a lot of people do not get the mystery between Jesus and Christ. Hence why the pastor in the video said Christ died spiritually.

Jesus said just before He took His last breath, "IT IS FINISHED". Finished meant that Sin was paid for. According to 1 Peter 3:18, Jesus suffered once to pay for sin. He did not have to suffer again in hell. Peter tells us that Jesus went to Sheol to preach to the spirits there (v 19), most likely that redemption has been made possible for those who repent and believe in Him (vv 19-20).

@Connie Balmer yes, the hell he went to is on this earth. He went to the prison houses to set the prisoners free! Because everyone is born into Bondage. That’s why we need to be Born Again of the Spirit. He went to preach the Spirits ( there are lying spirits and once they hear and BELIEVE the GOSPEL they are Saved) and we get a new Spirit. Our New Birth. The Spirit of God IN us! 1Cor 3:16- know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwelleth IN you? It’s His Word IN us. Hear His Voice. He says My sheep hear My Voice and I Know them. He knows who are His. He is IN me right now. HE is asking you to choose you this day whom you will serve. ( He puts before us a blessing and a curse). Choose LIFE! Believe the Truth and get Eternal LIFE IN you!! Gospel- John 4:24- GOD IS A SPIRIT and we Must Worship Him In Spirit And In Truth. GOD put His Spirit IN the son, to reconcile us to Him. HE was Manifest IN the flesh.. ( 1Tim 3:16) 2Cor 5:19- to wit, that GOD WAS IN CHRIST, reconciling the world unto HIMself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the Word of Reconciliation. 1Tim 2:5- THERE IS ONE GOD and One Mediator between GOD and men, the man Christ Jesus Mediator/ Son = 2 beings Human ( Flesh)- Jesus GOD ( SPIRIT)- JESUS Jesus died for the sins of the world, was buried, and on the 3rd day GOD Raised him from the dead according to the scriptures The flesh of Jesus died, GOD is an Invisible Spirit and can Never die! 1Tim 1:17- unto the King Eternal, Immortal, INVISIBLE, ONLY Wise GOD, be honor and glory for ever and ever. I completely agree. It is finished literally meant Paid in Full. It spoke of a task being completed. It was used to show a debt had been paid off. The idea that Jesus was under the authority of Satan or needed to suffer further is utterly disgusting to me. The NT clearly states repeatedly that it was the blood and His death that set us free. To say He had to do something else diminishes the cross and what was accomplished there. This is blasphemy in my opinion.

Hebrews 11 lays it out very clearly. The OT prophets were saved by faith in the Messiah to come. Again Hebrews lays out no flesh was saved ever by killing animals. It was by Faith. You say what we believe is not real and that is your choice. The thing is Jesus said He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Him. That's it.

Keep appreciating jesus! Who he is and what he’s done for you! His work was completed on the cross! When he said tetelesti or paid in full or it is finished my favorite is transaction complete it was! Sin was covered! Now salvation is in 3 tenses in greek! Unfortunate that not clearly expressed into english. Accomplished fully when believed and accepted in the past! On going work of the spirit or scantificaltion. Future tense or to be fully realized! No one who has truly received jesus as their savior will be lost! Not one! Not only is he able to save to the uttermost all that rely on his saving work but he certainly will! He will lose not one! Jesus did Not go to hell. He went to a 'holding' place if you will for the righteous. He was without sin. He never separated from His father. He always remained in the trinity. He said "It is finished" meaning the finished work on the cross was all that was required for us to obtain salvation if we ask Him for it. The cross is enough

Jesus never suffered a second in hell, He went to the Heart of the Earth which was Paradise to set the righteous free & allowed them to enter Heaven with Him AFTER HE placed His own blood on the altar in Heaven. Jesus did defeat satan & took the keys of death, hell, & the grave. So now all who get saved can enter Heaven & have eternal life in Him.

Why do you believe Jesus never suffered in hell? If someone read (Acts 2:23-27) and believes that Jesus suffered in hell, then why do you say He didn’t? Muslims believes it’s blasphemy to teach that the holy, pure, immortal God who created the heavens and the earth, would take upon Himself mortal flesh and lived among sinful ungodly humans and then allowed those same defiled humans to crucify Him so that He would become a sacrifice for their sins. This whole idea is an abomination to them. They can’t wrap their minds around that narrative. But you strongly believe that’s exactly what happened because the scriptures says that’s what happened. Now you (like the Muslims) say it’s impossible that the same God who you believe suffered on the cross, is not capable of paying the ultimate punishment for sin ? For the ultimate punishment for sin is suffering in hell; not physical death. And if you say Jesus said “it is finished” on the cross, then you would have to explain why Paul said that if Christ is not risen from the dead then we are yet still in our sins. Which means the crucifixion alone did not deliver us from sin. There were different layers to our redemption. There was first Jesus’s blood being spilled, then His death, then after that his descension into hell (where perhaps He suffered for a little while) and then His resurrection from the dead and then Ultimately His ascension into Heaven where He offered His blood on the true alter of God.

I agree that Christ did not spend any moment in hell. Hell is the Abyss created for Satan and his minions; Christ went to paradise to proclaim His victory over death and take with Him the OT saints to heaven. This Pastor is delivering a skewed message (exposition) of the Scriptures. A brief study of the etymology of, hell, Sheol, and Hades makes this quite clear. I also question the answer to, "is God in hell?" God is omnipresent however God does not look upon sin. So, my question is this; is God in hell with His eyes wide shut? At the apotheosis of sin being cast upon Christ, He cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani!" My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?!" This was the moment God turned His back on Christ. ( Matt 27:46; Mark 15:34)

@@TheRgordon16 Please STUDY the way sacrifice's were done in the Old Testament. A lamb was killed ONCE a year by the High Priest & it's blood sprinkled on the mercy seat in the holy of holies for the forgiveness of their sins. But why was this done every year? Why was one lamb not good enough for eternal forgiveness? The answer is given in the bible. A mere animal sacrifice did not change the heart's of men & they continued to live a sinful lifestyle & so their sins required a blood sacrifice every year. Jesus became the perfect Lamb of God & died ONCE for ALL ETERNITY! And rose again the 3rd day in VICTORY! Not only did Jesus have to rise in order to place His own blood on the mercy seat in Heaven for the forgiveness of sins, but He also left us God, the Holy Spirit which first came to the 120 in the upper room on the day of Pentecost. NOW all who are saved & filled with the Holy Spirit are born again & have become new creatures in Christ Jesus. We no longer have the desire to sin. That doesn't mean we can't or don't ever sin, but we strive not to & try our best to be obedient unto God. When we do slip up & sin we ask forgiveness of our sins & continue to run the race to Heaven. So that is why Jesus didn't have to suffer in hell. His work was finished on the cross & now He is seated at the right hand of Father God making intercession prayer for us. satan accuses those who are saved day & night of sin & Jesus constantly prays for us & says to Father God their sins are COVERED by His blood HALLEJUAH!!!

I don't agree that the story of the rich man is a parable. Parables are fiction and the story of the rich man mentions the names of Abraham and Lazarus who were real people. If it was a true parable, the names of real people wouldn't be mentioned. I believe that the story of the rich man and beggar is a true account , a cautionary tale from a loving Savior who doesn't want us to go to Hell. Jesus spoke more about Hell than He did Heaven which shows the urgency and importance of comprehending that Hell is a real place and what we must do to avoid going there.

It amazes me how teachers can have so much education and get such crucial info wrong. The bible never teaches Jesus suffered for our sins in hell. What it does teach is that he went there for three days. We know that he went to the Paradise side of Hades though because he explicitly told the thief that they would be together in paradise that same day, not after he burned 3 days in hell. If Jesus did cross over the chasm to the other side it was not to suffer but possibly to proclaim. The bible says Jesus went and preached to the spirits in prison after his death. It also says that not only did God raise him from the dead but he raised himself from the dead. The bible always points to the cross and shedding of blood as the propitiation. As to what Christ suffered on the cross or what he was going through when he cried out My God My God why have you forsaken me we don’t know, but what we do know is that it was enough travail in his soul to satisfy God

I haven't watched the video - all I've seen is the title, and it's obviously going to be a childishly simplistic lot of unscriptural hogwash - as much Christian teaching is, having taken many of it's ideas from paganism, via the Catholic church. However, the Bible does NOT teach that Jesus 'went' anywhere, let alone a non-existent 'hell.' It teaches that He was in the earth for 3 days, just as Jonah was in the belly of the fish, and that He was resurrected from the dead, not from another form of life - and that was the ONLY sign He said He was going to give of who He was, so it's very important! In fact, the whole concept of survival of death by some sort of 'immortal soul' is the same lie the enemy told Eve in the garden, and it's highly dangerous. If people would only stop reading the wholly outdated and erroneous Jacobean Bible, and start doing some proper study, instead of regurgitating nonsense they've been told, they would see that there are FOUR entirely different words that ALL used to be translated as the same word 'hell,' which can't be right. The Hebrew 'Sheol' (not now used) and the Greek 'Hades' (still used occasionally) are best interpreted into English as 'the grave.' Tartarus (used only once) is a 'gloomy dungeon' - a place of imprisonment for evil spirits, without fire, And the word 'Gehenna' (the only word Jesus used, and then only a few times) refers to the Valley of Hinnom. It has a history, but in Jesus' day it was where Jerusalem's rubbish was burned to ashes, and as such it's an appropriate image of the lake of fire in Revelation, which is the second DEATH, and where the enemies of God will be consumed to 'ashes.' Finally, the Spirit-Filled Bible footnote on the rather obscure and only verse that can be used to support this error (1 Peter 3: 19) is good - it says:
@SuperJ333
@SuperJ333 2 жыл бұрын
(Comment on 1 Peter 3: 19) from Spirit-Filled Bible, deleted by KZbin - see previous post) "This difficult passage, undoubtedly clearer to it's first readers, has been variously interpreted. It probably refers to Christ's proclaiming, through the EVENT of His resurrection, the fruits of His victory, to spirits in prison (demon spirits). This proclamation may be part of Christ's subsequent authority over 'angels and authorities and powers.' Nothing is said of a RESPONSE from the hearers, and the passage ought not to be interpreted as referring to a second chance of salvation for those who refuse the truth in this life." Notice also that the 'gloomy dungeon' where the spirits are kept is nothing like 'hell.' Quite how such a nonsensical teaching ever gained credence is a mystery to me. God bless.

@ Vaughn Madsen: you are correct. This teaching is unbiblical. Sheol/hades is the 'place of disembodied souls' ....good or bad. One side is paradise and the other is torments (tartarus). Heaven and hell (gehenna) do not come until the final Judgement. That is when hades will be emptied, Judgement occurs and you either go to heaven or hell. No one has been judged yet. Furthermore, the dead body will not be raised, as flesh cannot enter the kindom of heaven. We will have new incorruptible spiritual bodies for eternity. This preacher makes it sound like there are already people in heaven and hell; and that's just not correct. Hades gives up the dead on the Lord's Day. Rapture is not biblical. Back in 1830 a *man* named John Darby took Thessalonians out of context of 'meeting in the air'. I'm not sure if the translation is greek, but air is equivalent to the word 'pneumo' which is associated with breath....particularly the spiritual breath. This preacher references other books. That is not how a true Christian practices. There is only *one* book, and that is the *Bible* Man-written books with their own doctrine are not what should be taught. The only teaching should come straight from the Bible.

He had to experience death (even spiritually) in the ordinary fashion in order that He may overcome that spiritually and physically, that He may lawfully be the redeemer of those of us willing and the rest of creation that has been affected by sin. One can't help but wonder if that was a long 3 days for Him, but we can have comfort in that He endured where we cannot with full and complete willingness. Until the day we are fully redeemed, I don't think we can fathom the entire depth of all He's done for us. Just what we do know and understand in this life is enough to blow you away.

As someone who's only a follower of Christ for just about 6-7 months, I'm still learning and trying to figure things out, and this video was a huge help to my understanding. Unfortunately, I'm a bit like Lt. Columbo, always trying to tie up loose ends by asking just one more question, and I have one here. You said that Our Saviour died at 3pm, at the exact same time as the High Priest sacrificed the lamb, in redemption for the nation, with both of them saying, "It is finished". The loose end I have with this is that I can remember reading that if Passover Eve fell on a Friday, the High Priest would slaughter the lamb an hour earlier, at 2pm. Am I wrong in this? I hope you - or someone reading this comment - can spare a few minutes to clarify this little detail, as it'll be rattling around in my head for the next month as I try to find an answer. Thanks.

@@allennolan You are reading it with the comma in the wrong place. It should read as follows: "I tell you today, thou shalt he with me in paradise." He was telling him the message today, not that he would be in paradise today. So the thief was going to heaven before Jesus, who was spending 3 days and nights in the tomb? That doesn't make any sense.

Jesus did not go to hell. We are told to correct our Christian brothers and sisters with love. He went to a 'holding' place if you will for the righteous. He was without sin. He paid the price for our sins in full by dying on the cross. He said "It is finished". He was never separated from God. He has always remained in the trinity.

The name Jesus christ is the name of the son of God in the English language of the bible. But yeshua messiah is the Hebrew name for the son of God in scripture. But I only speak english ,but I only meant it out of Honor to say his Hebrew name as that's the original. But I just accept Jesus christ as my lord and savior amen. Read John 3,16 and 3,17. HE IS ONE AND THE SAME THE SON OF GOD. IN HEBREW OR ENGLISH. NOT IMPORTANT AS MUCH AS BELIEVE AND TRUST JESUS THAT'S WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE FAITH AND TRUST JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR.

That’s because the Bible doesn’t say it. What Jesus did in the earth was take away the power of him who had power over death. The devil. You find that in Galatians chapter 3 I believe. And he preached to the Saints in prison. Then he freed the saints and led them to the throne of God. There are two parts to what we call hell. One is Paradise or Abrahams bosom. The other is the grave or a place of torment. Luke chapter 16 explains that.

HE didn't suffer but HE did go to hell to set the captives free and to take away the power of hell because prior to HIM going to the cross and to hell everyone who died went to hell rather "a good part or not" i.e. Abraham bossum it was still hell

A person down the "comments" said; an apostle Creed, Jesus was not God. And I replied. It's ;ole this... (Sorry kind Brethren, for this VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused) The bible does say, Jesus IS God, in many places; like John 10:30. From Mr Nolan replied. And there many like this... Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was within God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh (Jesus), and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 10:30 I and my Father are one. John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh (Jesus), justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. And many more! Praise Jesus! Now many might say this, "That's impossible". Well Jesus said this in... Matthew 19:26 Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Thus...Three (The "Father", the "Son of God" and the "Holy Spirit") equals ONE God. Where 3=1. A "Heavenly Golden Trinity"! Believe it or not! But some, may say this is Impossible...Oh Well... End of Story. And may Jesus have mercy... ...In any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!

Anyone listening to this video please think about the words of Jesus - “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the CAPTIVES and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.” 20 And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. 21 And he began to say to them, “TODAY this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” AT this time when Jesus read the captives were being liberated from lies. Not later when they crucified Jesus and buried Him .

Jesus went to the paradise section of Sheol. He then set the captives free. He told the thief on the cross, "today" you will be with me in paradise. All our sins were paid in full on the cross. Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of eternal life to all who trust Him alone for salvation. Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

@@wisdom777ism Jesus NEVER died spiritually. Spiritual death is caused by sin. Even though Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world He Himself never sinned so He didn't die spiritually otherwise He would also need a Savior. Jesus IS THE SAVIOR of the world. When Jesus died the sins upon Himself died with Him & when He arose the 3rd day He rose sin free in VICTORY! Study in detail how the high priest beginning with Aaron sacrificed a Lamb once a year for the forgiveness of sin in the holy of holies upon the mercy seat on the ark of the covenant.
