Jesus never went to hell. God cannot go to a place like that. The reason hell is not talked about much, is because God doesn't know much about hell. God didn't create such a place. It just formed by itself, according to Genesis.

Also God can do everything and anything he wills to do, and it was his will that he save us. Therefore, this being what was necessary (Jesus being of man also I think you forget about that part) in order to cover our sins is what was done

Yes I do because I suffer like Jesus suffered as the strictures say if you are true to Jesus you would suffer. But anyone who does not obey the Ten Commandments is not true to Jesus and does not follow. He said take up your cross and follow daily which means to suffer daily. And anyone who is true to him would suffer as Christ suffered. But you are a child of the devil with blessed worldly values from your Father the devil to keep you sweet on your way to destruction.

My mom whom loves Jesus with all her heart always says that Jesus went to hell to get the keys from Satan. Pastor Nolan do you know why she would have that impression. She was raised in the old Pentecostal church. She is 83 today and praise God still very healthy and with me. We attend the Assembly of God and our pastors views are like yours! This teaching is one of my favorites out of many of your teachings and many favorites. You have taken all the studies in the Bible that I have spent time in and taken them to such a deeper understanding! I absolutely love and appreciate what God has done through you because of your love for Him and your devotion to your studies in order that we ,whom desire to understand on your level but haven’t spent the years and time it takes in order to achieve the knowledge that you have through prayer, obedience, and the passion for Christ which helped you get up and do everything which you have in order so that you can be the powerful man of God that He has called to teach us His children! Bless you Pastor!!!

He just explained that. It’s vitally important to actually put your faith in Jesus death and subsequent resurrection from that death..so we can be too. Right? The death you will be raised from IS the death you put Jesus in as substitute.

I cried during this. I have been a born again Christian for 30 years and didn’t know about what Jesus actually did the 3 1/2 days. I was under the assumption that he presented his spotless blood as a sacrifice to the Heavenly Father on behalf of the sins of the world. After that he went to get the keys to death, hell, and the grave. I am so humbled by his sacrifice and what he endured. Thank you for this teaching.

Actually Jesus did not go to hell. He went to a 'holding' place if you will for the righteous. The finished work on the cross was all that was required to pay the price for our sins. He said "It is finished" He was without sin. He has never been separated from His father. He has and always will remain in the trinity.

@@allennolan Is hell a place of eternal suffering? No. The original words translated as “hell” in some older Bible translations (Hebrew, “Sheol”; Greek, “Hades”) basically refer to “the Grave,” that is, the common grave of mankind. The Bible shows that people in “the Grave” are in a state of nonexistence. ● The dead are unconscious and so cannot feel pain. “Neither work, nor reason, nor wisdom, nor knowledge, shall be in hell.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10, Douay-Rheims Version) Hell is not filled with sounds of pain. Instead, the Bible says: “Let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave [hell, Douay-Rheims].”-Psalm 31:17; King James Version (30:18, Douay-Rheims); Psalm 115:17. ● God has set death, not torment in a fiery hell, as the penalty for sin. God told the first man, Adam, that the penalty for breaking God’s law would be death. (Genesis 2:17) He said nothing about eternal torment in hell. Later, after Adam sinned, God told him what his punishment would be: “Dust you are and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3:19) He would pass out of existence. If God were actually sending Adam to a fiery hell, He surely would have mentioned it. God has not changed the punishment for defying his laws. Long after Adam sinned, God inspired a Bible writer to say: “The wages sin pays is death.” (Romans 6:23) No further penalty is justified, because “the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin.”-Romans 6:7. ● The idea of eternal torment is repugnant to God. (Jeremiah 32:35) Such an idea is contrary to the Bible’s teaching that “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) He wants us to worship him out of love, not fear of eternal torment.-Matthew 22:36-38. ● Good people went to hell. The Bibles that use the word “hell” indicate that faithful men, such as Jacob and Job, expected to go to hell. (Genesis 37:35; Job 14:13) Even Jesus Christ is spoken of as being in hell between the time of his death and his resurrection. (Acts 2:31, 32) Obviously, then, when “hell” is used in these Bibles, it simply refers to the Grave.

When he said tetelesti or paid in full or it is finished my favorite is transaction complete it was! Sin was covered! Now salvation is in 3 tenses in greek! Unfortunate that not clearly expressed into english. Accomplished fully when believed and accepted in the past! On going work of the spirit or scantificaltion. Future tense or to be fully realized! No one who has truly received jesus as their savior will be lost! Not one! Not only is he able to save to the uttermost all that rely on his saving work but he certainly will! He will lose not one! Just something to help. Hell is the KJV's word for the Greek word Hades. Which is the grave. All who die end up in hell or the grave. It is a state of nonexistence(Genesis 3:19). That is why a resurrection is needed to bring the dead back into existence. Jesus too needed to be resurrected to bring him back into existence. Acts 2:32 God resurrected this Jesus, and of this we are all witnesses.

No he does not. Rich man and Lazarus is a parable. John 3:13 Jesus: "no man has ascended to heaven except he that descended, the son of Man" . Death is a figurative sleep and Abraham was sleeping in the grave, (sheol) Greek Hades. Jesus "slept" for 3 days and then was resurrected. 50 days later he ascended to heaven. It is estimated that 16 billion people have lived on earth and died and they are all still sleeping in the grave. With the exception of those who have been chosen to rule with Jesus in heaven most of them will be resurrected back on the "new earth" Acts 24:15 to learn the Bible and Gods will. Those who are deserving will live on earth forever.

(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be said) Kind Sir, Allen Nolan...You are a VERY intelligent man, when it comes to bibles and it's truths. Rather than the garbage that's natural. So much so, that I did something; I rarely do on Christian's KZbin videos. And that is: I only stay to see IF they are intelligent in the truths, in bibles. And sadly, that is very rare. May Jesus have mercy... So, I watched and listened deeply to your video twice (no less)! And I learned a lot; that I didn't know. So I am very pleased that I learned them. Especially when you said, "What happened AFTER Jesus was crucified; and when He was resurrected"?! And you spent almost an hour to explain what happened; in those 3 Days and 3 Nights. Wow, was it good Sir! Because I too, for untold years, have been believing; that Jesus went to Hell (or "Hades" or "Sheol's", etc). And also, I have believed a long time; that "Placee" is in the middle of this earth. Where most do NOT believe that at all! As you espoused wisely. So kind Sir...I said all of the above to say this... After 16 yrs of my 91 yrs of Christianity; trying to get to the pure TRUTH; and not what MOST preachers believe. And with NO disrespect (at all) to you Allen; I believe you ARE wrong; when you say that "others" go to that place, when they die. For I believe, all stays (except for Moses) in their graves. Until Jesus' 1st Resurrects His Born Again's ("Sheep"); dead or live to the Old Heaven. And after 1,000 yrs goes by; Jesus "Calls Up" satan's Non Born Again's ("Goats"); to the Old Heaven too. But remember Brethren, in these... 2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is Jesus as a thousand years, and a thousand years (on Earth) is one day (In Heaven). Matthew 19:26 Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Since Brethren, I never debate or argue...I will just let it stand where we (Christians brothers) are. And I'll still believe you are a "helluva" preacher...in my life! And may Jesus bless you and yours always, kind Sir. AMEN!

Thanks for doing and sharing this message. It is one of those topics RARELY gone over or explained. He had to experience death (even spiritually) in the ordinary fashion in order that He may overcome that spiritually and physically, that He may lawfully be the redeemer of those of us willing and the rest of creation that has been affected by sin. One can't help but wonder if that was a long 3 days for Him, but we can have comfort in that He endured where we cannot with full and complete willingness. Until the day we are fully redeemed, I don't think we can fathom the entire depth of all He's done for us. Just what we do know and understand in this life is enough to blow you away.

Why do you believe Jesus never suffered in hell? If someone read (Acts 2:23-27) and believes that Jesus suffered in hell, then why do you say He didn’t? Muslims believes it’s blasphemy to teach that the holy, pure, immortal God who created the heavens and the earth, would take upon Himself mortal flesh and lived among sinful ungodly humans and then allowed those same defiled humans to crucify Him so that He would become a sacrifice for their sins. This whole idea is an abomination to them. They can’t wrap their minds around that narrative. But you strongly believe that’s exactly what happened because the scriptures says that’s what happened. Now you (like the Muslims) say it’s impossible that the same God who you believe suffered on the cross, is not capable of paying the ultimate punishment for sin ? For the ultimate punishment for sin is suffering in hell; not physical death. And if you say Jesus said “it is finished” on the cross, then you would have to explain why Paul said that if Christ is not risen from the dead then we are yet still in our sins. Which means the crucifixion alone did not deliver us from sin. There were different layers to our redemption. There was first Jesus’s blood being spilled, then His death, then after that his descension into hell (where perhaps He suffered for a little while) and then His resurrection from the dead and then Ultimately His ascension into Heaven where He offered His blood on the true alter of God.

I agree that Christ did not spend any moment in hell. Hell is the Abyss created for Satan and his minions; Christ went to paradise to proclaim His victory over death and take with Him the OT saints to heaven. This Pastor is delivering a skewed message (exposition) of the Scriptures. A brief study of the etymology of, hell, Sheol, and Hades makes this quite clear. I also question the answer to, "is God in hell?" God is omnipresent however God does not look upon sin. So, my question is this; is God in hell with His eyes wide shut? At the apotheosis of sin being cast upon Christ, He cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani!" My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?!" This was the moment God turned His back on Christ. ( Matt 27:46; Mark 15:34)

@@TheRgordon16 Please STUDY the way sacrifice's were done in the Old Testament. A lamb was killed ONCE a year by the High Priest & it's blood sprinkled on the mercy seat in the holy of holies for the forgiveness of their sins. But why was this done every year? Why was one lamb not good enough for eternal forgiveness? The answer is given in the bible. A mere animal sacrifice did not change the heart's of men & they continued to live a sinful lifestyle & so their sins required a blood sacrifice every year. Jesus became the perfect Lamb of God & died ONCE for ALL ETERNITY! And rose again the 3rd day in VICTORY! Not only did Jesus have to rise in order to place His own blood on the mercy seat in Heaven for the forgiveness of sins, but He also left us God, the Holy Spirit which first came to the 120 in the upper room on the day of Pentecost. NOW all who are saved & filled with the Holy Spirit are born again & have become new creatures in Christ Jesus. We no longer have the desire to sin. That doesn't mean we can't or don't ever sin, but we strive not to & try our best to be obedient unto God. When we do slip up & sin we ask forgiveness of our sins & continue to run the race to Heaven. So that is why Jesus didn't have to suffer in hell. His work was finished on the cross & now He is seated at the right hand of Father God making intercession prayer for us. satan accuses those who are saved day & night of sin & Jesus constantly prays for us & says to Father God their sins are COVERED by His blood HALLEJUAH!!!

This makes perfect sense. Proves the full price Christ paid... and HOW MUCH LOVE HE HAS FOR US! Mind blowing in many respects. We don't want to mix the horrors of hell with the glory of God but the reality is that God can do and does it all. Amen 🙏

When the lamb was sacrificed on behalf of the nation of Israel on the day of atonement, that was it. The lamb didn't have to suffer after being killed (which makes no sense anyway). Jesus is the lamb of God. His DEATH was all that was needed. There is no suffering after death. The dead cease to exist (Genesis 3:19). Hell is the KJV's word for the GRAVE. Checking Acts 2:27 in various Bible translation will make this clear.

The Reverend Billy Graham once asked who the most sinful man on the planet was. When he answered “Jesus”, it blew me away, but as I thought on it, I realized Rev. Graham was indeed correct. That thought is simply amazing to me.

Please don't be fooled by this so called preacher. You haven't ever heard it because it never really happened. This man is not a real preacher my friend. He may be saved by the torments of hell but he barely is there with the skin of his teeth. This isn't a true representing of the Lord. Please 🙏🏼 stay away from thongs like this. Im only here because I stumbled upon it while looking for a makeup tutorial. But please 🙏🏼 stay away from this man. Many blessings your way

Hi the reason you've never herd any of what this man is saying is that it's not in the Bible. The Bible clearly says Jesus died, was buried and God raised him back to life again on the 3rd day. Not hard to understand. Blessings Vaughn
@teresamartin4735

@ Vaughn Madsen: you are correct. This teaching is unbiblical. Sheol/hades is the 'place of disembodied souls' ....good or bad. One side is paradise and the other is torments (tartarus). Heaven and hell (gehenna) do not come until the final Judgement. That is when hades will be emptied, Judgement occurs and you either go to heaven or hell. No one has been judged yet. Furthermore, the dead body will not be raised, as flesh cannot enter the kindom of heaven. We will have new incorruptible spiritual bodies for eternity. This preacher makes it sound like there are already people in heaven and hell; and that's just not correct. Hades gives up the dead on the Lord's Day. Rapture is not biblical. Back in 1830 a *man* named John Darby took Thessalonians out of context of 'meeting in the air'. I'm not sure if the translation is greek, but air is equivalent to the word 'pneumo' which is associated with breath....particularly the spiritual breath. This preacher references other books. That is not how a true Christian practices. There is only *one* book, and that is the *Bible* Man-written books with their own doctrine are not what should be taught. The only teaching should come straight from the Bible.

"He descended into hell in order to pay the penalty for our sin." I'm going to need B/C/V on that one. Because I'm pretty sure the bible teaches that the cross is the price Jesus paid for sin - not something He did after he was buried.

@@bobfitz7886 - That's what's wrong with that whole mess. It's also why I asked for B/C/V (Book/Chapter/Verse) for scriptural authority. There is none that I'm aware of. We are constrained by what is written and where the scriptures are silent, we need to be silent as well. It's a discipline but it prevents us from becoming the Catholic Church, which make stuff up whenever she feels the need.

Jesus said just before He took His last breath, "IT IS FINISHED". Finished meant that Sin was paid for. According to 1 Peter 3:18, Jesus suffered once to pay for sin. He did not have to suffer again in hell. Peter tells us that Jesus went to Sheol to preach to the spirits there (v 19), most likely that redemption has been made possible for those who repent and believe in Him (vv 19-20).

@Connie Balmer yes, the hell he went to is on this earth. He went to the prison houses to set the prisoners free! Because everyone is born into Bondage. That’s why we need to be Born Again of the Spirit. He went to preach the Spirits ( there are lying spirits and once they hear and BELIEVE the GOSPEL they are Saved) and we get a new Spirit. Our New Birth. The Spirit of God IN us! 1Cor 3:16- know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwelleth IN you? It’s His Word IN us. Hear His Voice. He says My sheep hear My Voice and I Know them. He knows who are His. He is IN me right now. HE is asking you to choose you this day whom you will serve. ( He puts before us a blessing and a curse). Choose LIFE! Believe the Truth and get Eternal LIFE IN you!! Gospel- John 4:24- GOD IS A SPIRIT and we Must Worship Him In Spirit And In Truth. GOD put His Spirit IN the son, to reconcile us to Him. HE was Manifest IN the flesh.. ( 1Tim 3:16) 2Cor 5:19- to wit, that GOD WAS IN CHRIST, reconciling the world unto HIMself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the Word of Reconciliation. 1Tim 2:5- THERE IS ONE GOD and One Mediator between GOD and men, the man Christ Jesus Mediator/ Son = 2 beings Human ( Flesh)- Jesus GOD ( SPIRIT)- JESUS Jesus died for the sins of the world, was buried, and on the 3rd day GOD Raised him from the dead according to the scriptures The flesh of Jesus died, GOD is an Invisible Spirit and can Never die! 1Tim 1:17- unto the King Eternal, Immortal, INVISIBLE, ONLY Wise GOD, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen Col 3:3- For ye are dead and your Life is hid with Christ IN GOD. HE is our Life! Believe this Truth and Recieve His Spirit and He will NEVER LEAVE you or Forsake you!!

I completely agree. It is finished literally meant Paid in Full. It spoke of a task being completed. It was used to show a debt had been paid off. The idea that Jesus was under the authority of Satan or needed to suffer further is utterly disgusting to me. The NT clearly states repeatedly that it was the blood and His death that set us free. To say He had to do something else diminishes the cross and what was accomplished there. This is blasphemy in my opinion.

@@tiredofliars not sure where to even start. Blasphemy is exactly what I stated. Secondly people are saved one way. It was Jesus, is Jesus and always will be Jesus. Hebrews 11 lays it out very clearly. The OT prophets were saved by faith in the Messiah to come. Again Hebrews lays out no flesh was saved ever by killing animals. It was by Faith. You say what we believe is not real and that is your choice. The thing is Jesus said He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Him. That's it.

Pastor Nolan... that was a truly excellent sermon. As someone who's only a follower of Christ for just about 6-7 months, I'm still learning and trying to figure things out, and this video was a huge help to my understanding. Unfortunately, I'm a bit like Lt. Columbo, always trying to tie up loose ends by asking just one more question, and I have one here. You said that Our Saviour died at 3pm, at the exact same time as the High Priest sacrificed the lamb, in redemption for the nation, with both of them saying, "It is finished". The loose end I have with this is that I can remember reading that if Passover Eve fell on a Friday, the High Priest would slaughter the lamb an hour earlier, at 2pm. Am I wrong in this? I hope you - or someone reading this comment - can spare a few minutes to clarify this little detail, as it'll be rattling around in my head for the next month as I try to find an answer. Thanks.

Anyone listening to this video please think about the words of Jesus - “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the CAPTIVES and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.” 20 And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. 21 And he began to say to them, “TODAY this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” AT this time when Jesus read the captives were being liberated from lies. Not later when they crucified Jesus and buried Him .
