Darwin’s wife was a faithful woman that prayed for Charles all through their marriage. He did accept Jesus at the end of his life. He was concerned his teachings might lead people astray. I love kindly telling my atheist friends this.

A. Darwin never said this. B. No one would care if he said this. He could have said in his death bed that he now worshipped kthulu and believed that the moon was made of cheese and it would do literally nothing to uproot any evidence of evolution. He isn't the lynchpin of evolution, there's so much evidence for it, we have a hard time categorizing it. He was just a guy with a good idea that turned out to be correct.

I love how Christians think Darwin himself is the foundation upon which Evolutionary theory rests. It is not. He was just one of the early, main proponents of a basic, limited version of the theory. Evolutionary theory stands upon a foundation of evidence, not the historical status of its advocates. It is Christians who base their whole worldview on the status of its advocates (Jesus and Paul). Why do Christians always try to make Evolution appear like their own religion as a means of discrediting it? Ironic, to say the least.

It's the internet, so I can be blunt for some reason. Your family and "friends" sound like a clut. Be glad you're not in it. That said; you do get to choose your friends. I pray you find yours. Keep in mind most people can count true friends on one hand and only hurt people hurt people so keep an eye out for that. God bless and stay strong. Edit: Don't be afraid to stick up for yourself. But remember that people who get made at your thoughts are a waste of time and energy. Best to just move on. They're not your friends if they can't not get angry in your presence because of the things in your head. That's like some type of brain bigotry. Racists of the mind if you will.

God Is Great in Love and Mercy Scripture proclaims that God is love (1 John 4:8). The greatest display of God’s love for us was His choice to send down His only Son to be tortured and killed to atone for our sins so that we may have eternal life (John 3:16).

Did Father really send His Son to be tortured, or was that Lucifer's doing? Did the Cross have anything to do with redemption of sins. Was it not the plan, that He be sacrificed at the Temple? Was His defeat of Lucifer (Hell) and the liberation of many in Hell, after the crucifixion; the actual Atonement action that addressed the sin of the Fall and opened the way for the faithful to get past the Accuser and return to Father?

It's also notable that in Hosea and other books it tells how a day for God is like a thousand years for man, so while creating the world before man existed who can say how long the first 5 'days' were. But even the 'evolutionary' record matches the appearance of species in Genesis. And those who wrote Genesis didn't have communications, carbon- dating, or archeological tools that we do, so that would make them really good 'guessers' without the Word being the Truth.
@CDub-w9g5 ай бұрын
Well, how do you define a day nowadays, and how does the word day used in context of the Bible generally supposed to be interpreted? That is what he discusses in the video. If there was death before the original sin, then it would make God a liar. Are you calling God a liar?
@AnyaMidkiff5 ай бұрын
@CDub-w9g just the opposite, and I'm only talking about the days of creation before man, where it may be a matter of God's time. I'm saying the 'evolutionary' record doesn't conflict with, and does NOT in any way disprove, Genesis.

@peregrinegrace8570 you don't seem to get I'm agreeing: the point that in full context, the Bible suggests "day", "morning", etc, can have different meanings to an eternal God, such that the theory of evolution DOESN'T disprove scripture. I agree that evolution from one species to another is a lie (outside of the adaption within a single species), and was pointing out that even the theory of evolution follows the same timeline as Genesis, which was written long before anyone had any sort of "scientific evidence".

@@CDub-w9g - According to the Bible, it seems like no one died in Eden. It's likely every living creature is an immortal one so "Time" likely has no meaning to them until the One Rule was broken when the Forbidden fruit got bitten. That's when you start counting time and day outside the Gate of Eden. That's why the Bible says "Adam lived to be 930 years old" after being kicked out of Eden. His studies seem to show conclusive evidence that it was located further south at the site of Eridu. According to Dr. Petrovich of the seven or eight "cities of Babel" only Eridu fits all of the Biblical criteria. While the exact location does not discount the history of the event, could a consensus be reached on the actual location? I would like to add that I enjoy the teachings and respect both gentlemen, so this is not a "I like him better" question, just seeking more accurate knowledge.

So, what was the tower that Nebuchadnezzar rebuilt to house their God, in Babylon itself? The site of the original Tower is on the site of ancient Babel. Alexander the Great had the foundations that remained of the destroyed temple removed as, he planned to rebuild the Tower before his untimely death in Babylon (as written in Josephus). All that remains is the footprint which cannot be excavated because of a high water table. There are many temples dotted throughout Iraq.

There's a very obvious issue with the story of the Tower. First, it states that the whole world spoke with the same tongue and Genesis is a chronological story. The issue starts with with Gen 10:20 which states These are the sons of Ham by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations. This narrative repeats with the brothers Shem and Japheth as well. So you've either got a bad translation, incorrect story, or it's not in chronological order. The next problem you encounter is the mistranslation of God in this passage. El Elyon which does not mean most high in Hebrew but rather commander of the El is clearly stated as the one who divided peoples and languages in Deuteronomy and yet Yahweh is often ascribed this role in Genesis. It goes on to say that yahweh is the son of Elyon and thus subservient and not the most high. What's the big deal some will ask...exodus says that the name YHWH was not revealed before Moses so it should not ever appear before then. Though I believe the story happened, since it's written about long before the biblical myth, the Bible version has some very clear and obvious redactions which cause confusion later.

Almost all people are related to Abraham. Using generations you can compute the time for the most recent common ancestor of different regions of the world. All people of European descent have Charlemagne as a common ancestor. All people with ties to the Middle East, which is most Africans, Europeans, Asians are probably related to someone like King David; pretty much the only exceptions are some South American native tribes and some island tribes in Polynesia, because everyone else separated who isolated themselves much later. It's a nice fact to know that pretty much everyone today has Abraham as an actual ancestor.

How exactly do you get 100 billion people from one guy who lived 4000 years ago?
@litigioussociety42495 ай бұрын
@@msquiggle3590 There are only 7-8 billion people in the world. The question Inwas answering is most recent common ancestor. Abraham would appear on the family tree of over 99 percent of the people in the world. As for population, any model would show it takes less than 4000 years to get to the current population even starting with 2. Even using your number of 100 billion that is equal to less than 2^37. (By the way, the sum of everything from 2^1 to 2^36 equals 2^37, if your wanting the population of dead and alive.) There have been many more than 37 generations of people where the population doubled in the last four thousand years averaging four children that lived to sexual maturity for each couple. Even 100 generations is being extremely conservative, since the time to have four surviving kids (maybe eight kids total) would usually happen before a woman is 40 through most of history. Even assuming there were only 3 kids replacing every 2 adults in a generation only takes 57 generations to reach today's population, which is a ridiculously conservative growth rate.

Even the Apostles that had children are ancestors of almost everyone. However, that would not include Japan, the Americas, and other similarly isolates areas that people sailed to or reached before then. There are Y chromosome maps that show all the most recent ancestors, which is why we know most of the Native Americans are much more recently related to Eurasians, the last wave of them (not including the Eskimos) being around 1000 BC.

I'm a christian and I recognize the logical leap to go from the Bible being historically true to correlating it to the gospel being true. I believe the gospel to be true, but the accuracy of the historical record as told in the rest of the bible is evidence to its validity, not proof. There is evidence and logical deductions that can be made, but the statement is oversimplified to say that "because the history is correct, the gospel must be too."
