DID JESUS PREACH IN HELL?? THE MYSTERY OF THE SPIRITS IN PRISON

What happened to Jesus in the days between His death and resurrection? There is a belief that Jesus descended into hell. We know that He went to heaven, but the Bible also mentions that He passed through hell and preached to the spirits in prison.

No, He preached to the righteous in Abraham's Bosom. those who died before he came and were faithful to God. Those in hell were not preached to.

Yes, you are right. Our Lord went to Limbo to take the just ones there to Heaven, of which door Our Lord just opened. To those who are judged, there is no need of preaching, for their destiny is final and can't be changed forever.

All things are possible with Jesus. I think all is true, not just that He went to proclaim his victory but to those who were dead too because it is written that some rose from the dead when he ascended so who was that if not those who accepted His preaching!

I follow your channel with interest. And again a very interesting take on a controversial subject. This is my personal take. Only God, my creator knows all. The past, present and future. This life and the next. What is heaven or hell. What happened with Jesus in the days after his death I cannot and will never know while I live on earth and no human interpretation has any credibility to answer that. My duty is to worship God, and follow God's will in my daily living using the teachings of Jesus and adhering to the spiritual guidance of the Holy spirit within me. When God calls me home, only God can judge me and what happens whether in heaven or hell.

Actually, the descend of Jesus to hell was the only prophecy written in the tanach (hebrew scriptures) about Jesus. Jesus is called The Morning Star who went up high in heaven, sitting in The Throne of Glory, who was cast down to the netherworld, stricken, flung to his grave, "pierced" by the sword like a trampled carcass. Isaiah 14:9-21, Obadiah 1:4

According to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jesus Christ preached the gospel to those in the spirit world who were unable to accept it while alive. The spirit world is where spirits live between death and resurrection, and it's divided into two parts: paradise and spirit prison. Jesus preached to those in spirit prison, giving them the keys to the Gospel of salvation. However, according to Doctrine and Covenants 138:1-4, President Joseph F. Smith saw that Jesus didn't personally visit those in spirit prison, who were "the ungodly and the unrepentant who had defiled themselves while in the flesh". Instead, Jesus preached to "the spirits of the just, who had been faithful in the testimony of Jesus while they lived in mortality".

Angel's don't need preaching they don't have free will as humans do and the idea of falling angels disobedient to God is Beyond ridiculous. Satan or lucifer was a jinn/demon made from fire while angels are made of light. The Quran is clear and direct and will clear all confusions in the Bible. Come to the faith of all prophets (ISLAM) ie; submission to God.

Every one who died or dies is asleep until the return of the Messiah. Read your Bible. Also this is a good explanation in the video however I think using the word preach is a poor translation. More like He explained to the angels the reason why they were bound as I’m sure the angels tried to reason with Messiah as to why. There’s a very good account of this in the book of Enoch.

*I'm 71 now and have read only the exact same copy of the King James Bible my church gave me in 1961. We're seeing many end times prophecies being fulfilled SUPERNATURALLY! This is some of the "lying signs and wonders" that God told us He would give the AC power to perform which would even deceive His very elect, if it were possible in 2nd Thessalonians chapter two!* *God said in the end of days, (NOW!) that He would send us a famine for hearing His word in Amos **8:11** and that He would give the antichrist the ability to do this in Daniel 7:25. In Daniel 12:4 & 12:9 He told him to seal his book until the end days. He told John **_not_** to seal his book because the end time is at hand in Revelation 22:10. One of the Greek definitions of seal in Strongs concordance is “to protect from Satan”. He also told us to write His words in our hearts, which meant memorize, if not word for word at least the essence of what was written, because He knew this was going to happen.* *God commanded us to "prove all things", and people **_better_** obey Him, especially on this subject.
