"Hell," as a place of burning torments for all eternity comes from Greek Mythology, largely from Plato. You have to have been born with eternal life to be banished to a hell forever. Plato taught that, too. Now, in the Christian world, "The wages of sin is not death," Ro.6:23a, "the wages of sin is eternal life, in hell." A lie of Satan most believe when he said in the Garden..."You shall not*surely die," Gen.3:4. Christians believe Satan rather than God who said... "You will *surely die," Gen.2:17. Christians call the very God they pretend to believe, a liar, and opt for Satan in this exchange. Moreover, the translators of English Bibles opted for Satan and translated Original words of Holy Scripture into their choice in obedience to Satan, while the Original words have no likeness to Plato's concoction of an afterlife for the wicked in the hell he is given the historical credit for inventing. This is seen in Lk.16:19-31. Christ is countering His own decree in Gen.2:7 preaching eternal life for the wicked ( Satan's lie of Gen.3:4 ) in Plato's hell? Study hard before jumping into error which makes a mockery of Jesus Christ... a thing Satan loves when Christians obey his teachings.
