It makes me wonder how a person could witness all of the acts and miracles of Christ but still not believe that Christ was the Son of God. This seems to have been the case for Judas. It also seems to have been the case for those who had Christ arrested and handed over to the Romans. It’s like they said, “this is God now let’s kill him.” Even after the High Priests Servant’s (Malchus) ear was cut off and then healed by Yeshua they didn’t believe. How does that happen?

Good question, I do not know why either sorry. However I can say something regarding the subject. I have seen miracles of God with my own two eyes. He has answered my prayers in amazing ways and his existence is undeniable to me because he revealed himself to me when I was a teenager. As God moved upon my room and spoke life into my heart I began to believe and I have believed ever since. I think that maybe these people who refuse to believe have demons in them or a sort of anti-Christ spirit in them that prevents them from seeing the truth.

@dilemmix You don't understand. God is PERFECTION and cannot judge any other way than through that perfection. That is why God took flesh, came as Christ and died as a sacrifice so all who wished to be saved could do so. If a person rejects this then they will stand before a PREFECT God and be judged by His Perfection Under the LAW. That is why free will is so important.

At that moment, actually, none of the disciples were "saved" because Jesus blood had not yet been shed; so didnt Judas die under Abrahamic covenant ?

@blushgrl16 - God did NOT condemn Judas: Judas condemned himself by not repenting in a Godly repentance. Judas repented not of his deed, but that his deed (betrayal) condemned Jesus to the cross! He was so sure Jesus could not be condemned, for Judas knew there was no sin in Jesus. Jesus, however, was condemned for claiming (rightfully) that he was the son of God: this Judas could not foresee. "Repent and believe God" is the essence of the Gospel.

I think Judas was saved at one point or Jesus would not have chosen Judas to be one of his twelve to help Jesus run his ministry. I think Jesus chose Judas to prove once saved always saved is false. Judas walked away from his salvation just my thought.

Sounds about right. Baptist denominations believe once saved always saved, very sad that they're going to be in for a big surprise when they breathe their last. Check out a local Church of Christ in your area and make sure they don't use musical instruments in their worship. Then you know your pointed in the right direction.

When he took matters into his own hands, he played by his own rules. Meaning he rebelled against God, then sent himself to hell for betraying our Lord. He is now known as the son of perdition, he's in hell.

That's what repentance means. To regret the sin to God. Judas only regretted the sin to himself and not to God which is why it was wrongful repentance.

@hemet92544 - God chose "...the man Christ Jesus..." to redeem man: and He also chose a man to betray the Son of God. Devils/demons cannot repent because they were created perfect and without the commandments, even BEFORE God introduced Grace. Man was created AFTER the commandment and after Grace: to be guilty of sin, but to be saved in Grace!

For us to say this person has been forgiven, or this person isn't going to heaven. its wrong........ God be the judge. What Jesus did dying on the cross the rising in three whole days and three whole nights whas Gods plan. God uses us in certain ways to accomplish his plan. He used Pharoah , he used Joseph, to save his brothers after they sold him into slavery the lied about it. I'll wait to when I get to heaven and talk to the old testament people.

@shannonanamon I don't really understand the 'rejecting' God thing. For example, for me to accept a god I would need evidence for one. I mean, would God want people to accept anything based on faith only? If there really is a god that is all powerful, why is it so hard for him/her to prove that he exists? God should be proud that humans think for themselves and don't blindy accept claims without evidence. So the punishment for thinking would be eternal torture in hell?

The evidence is all around you, just look at the trees, the cosmos, and all the biological life here on Earth and how it all has order and instruction. A supreme all-knowing spirit had to have created all that you see, even the top scientists in the world now believe you can't get something from nothing, even time came into existence through the word of God.
