I wouldn’t say they killed guitar music. They, as you know, were part of the bloghaus scene, the blogosphere etc whatever you wanna call it. And that is a genre that culminates anything from more electro type stuff like Justice, to more daft punky “disco” French house, to Death From Above’s more rock/punk/screamo type music. They didn’t kill guitar at all, but they played a part in the change of vibe a lot of bands strive to achieve. This was also not just thanks to Justice but just the 2000s era itself. Just listening to Does It Offend You, Yeah? Kinda shows you that. That is just punk music, but with electro samples and production quality to it.

Nice video on Justice. Regarding the subject, it wasn't them. In the mainstream, Indie kept going aswell as Electro. Everything really changed after 2010 with Skrillex. Then 'EDM' dominated everything and bands were thinning out, while the previous bands began touring and their records disapeared from play. Then Trap came in and Rap was back to dominating. New generation of suburban white kids to appeal to.

You're right. Everything changed with dubstep in 2009/10. It was such a fast turnaround.

@@indiesleaze New sound, much wow 😂 I was actually disapointed the way music went after that. That era of late 2004-2010 was a fertile bed full of promise. But i learnt the sad reality that we get older and they aim music at the young. Which i think is out of order, because we never stop enjoying music, and should continue to go out and enjoy it. That doesn't mean mixing with the young, but maintaining our own venues. It's also a good way to keep active and feel good ! lol. No matter how much responsibility we have, everyone gets at least a Saturday to enjoy themselves.

@@indiesleaze 👍 "Like a true indie sleaze disciple, I'd even take Cross over anything Daft Punk put out. Tell me I'm wrong!" You're not wrong ! To me it makes sense that you find more appeal to their music, it's more toward Indie Dance than Daft Punk's stuff.

Nah dubstep did, pulled the rock crowds into dance clubs. The rock clubs died and there was never any new rock sub genre with a buzz after

it really matters? isn't the end result and satisfaction of the masses is the goal of the mainstream artist? "Guitar Music" don't usually push the buttons to everyone anyaways, to this people "guitar" and all the other instruments are mere non nostalgic tools.
