Can I ask you a off the topic question? I keep hearing the phrase marriage is a covenant with God . What chapter Bible verse are they getting this from? What promise did God give marriages I can't find anything a minister at my job says it but can't give me no scripture
@gclmedia
@gclmedia 24 күн бұрын
@ThomasWilliams-hj2hu Great question! The idea of marriage being a covenant with God is rooted in the Bible, but there isn’t a single verse that explicitly says, ‘marriage is a covenant with God.’ Instead, it’s a concept drawn from several passages. For example, Malachi 2:14 refers to marriage as a covenant, saying, ‘The Lord is witness between you and the wife of your youth… she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.’ Additionally, although a little more indirectly, Proverbs 2:16-17 warns about straying from this covenant, describing a wayward woman who ‘has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God.’ I am almost sure that the Bible doesn’t mention an explict promise God gives to marriages, instead emphasizes His design for unity, faithfulness, and love in this covenant relationship. It’s possible the minister is drawing on these symbolic references, but it’s always good to ask for clarification and dig deeper into Scripture yourself!

Thank you for putting The Ethiopian Bible and the Apocrypha Books in the map and having us Christians explore what is " Non-Canon "... I absolutely LOVE The Book of Sirach/Ecclesiasticus and can't wait to get more into Enoch... 1 and 2nd Esdras and the 1st and 2nd Maccabees (Which the story of the lady and her seven sons is TRULY a gamechanging story about Faith) That said PLEASE keep educating us on these books and bibles and I encourage ALL Saints to get a copy of the Ethiopian Bible and get the Bible translations (GNT...CEB...WEB just to name a few ) that does contain those Apocryphal Books.. Thank you for such a thoughtful and encouraging comment! It’s amazing to see how exploring texts like Sirach, 1 Enoch, 1 & 2 Esdras, and 1 & 2 Maccabees can deepen our faith and understanding. I completely agree-the story of the mother and her seven sons in 2 Maccabees is such a powerful testimony of unshakable faith and courage. I’m so glad these discussions are helping shine a light on the Ethiopian Bible and the Apocryphal books, which have so much to offer in terms of historical context, wisdom, and inspiration. I’ll definitely keep sharing and educating on these books and biblical traditions! Thank you again, and may God continue to bless you on your journey through His Word!

As long as we understand that the Bible is not a book created to tell great stories. Or to be entertaining in any way. My guess is that the apocrypha was removed because it was irrelevant. There’s no “extra information” beyond what was written in the 66 books. Much of it is redundant. Outside of these 66 books there is nothing more to be required to learn from God. The theme of the Bible is creation, the fall, the called, the redemption, the end. Say you learned the Apocrypha first. Then read the 66 books. The inclination would be to say “what happened to the rest? What about all the stories in 1/2 Maccabees?” You would be in error for giving both editions equal significance.

@ricksteen935 Thanks for watching the video! The Book of Jasher is definitely an intriguing text-it’s mentioned in the Bible (Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18), but the versions we have today aren’t considered part of the biblical canon and likely differ from the one referenced in Scripture. As you’ve probably already noticed it’s not included in any tradition’s Biblical canon. That said, I truly enjoy it and actually own several different published copies of Jasher. It offers fascinating historical and cultural insights, but it’s important to approach it thoughtfully and critically.

Diligent devoted scribes and scholars removed the Apocrypha from Christian teaching. Modern-day pastors put it back .
@gclmedia
@gclmedia 22 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment! It’s important to remember that Christianity extends far beyond Protestantism, and even within Protestant traditions, there’s no universal agreement on the removal of the Apocrypha. For instance, the original 1611 King James Version included the Apocrypha, the Church of England, and many churches, including the Lutheran Church, still use and publish the Apocrypha today for historical and spiritual insight. While some Protestant traditions chose to not use a canon that are printed with these books, others continue to recognize their value. This diversity reflects the richness of Christian traditions and the different approaches to understanding God’s Word.

And there's only one name to call on to be saved. The name of our creator our father. And his name is Yahuah and his son's name is Yahushua.
@gclmedia
@gclmedia 22 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing your perspective! The names of God and His Son are incredibly meaningful and profound. The name Yahuah as you pronounce it (or Yahweh, Yehovah, and LORD) reflect the Hebrew origins of God’s name, carrying deep significance in Scripture-often translated as "He Who Is." I have a quite a few videos but check this one out kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZTconaiasiAfKs Similarly, the name of His Son, Yahushua (or Yeshua), means "Salvation" and is rendered as Iesous in Greek and Jesus in English. Check out this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZWyZ6yHqKmre8k What’s important to remember is that Scripture emphasizes faith in who God is and what He has done rather than the specific pronunciation of His name (Romans 10:13). Whether you call Him Yahuah, Yahweh, Yehovah, LORD, or His son Yahushua, Yehoshua, or Jesus, what truly matters is trusting in Him as the one true Creator and Savior. Thank you for highlighting this topic-God’s name is indeed worthy of all reverence and praise!

The truest truth of all truth of this topic: publishing and printing books is a costly endeavor... If all the scriptures was included in the bible then the Book would be so large as to make it impossible to even lift the book. In the interest of spaceband data management the main storyline was kept pure but the side quests was trimmed off. The goal was to make it easier to carry travel sized for missionary work and the full whole unabridged was to kept in churches and libraries and at home. Remember the Bible is a collection of short stories over the course of many thousands of years. It's nearly impossible to sift through it all in one lifetime and understand the whole storyline without the distractions without condensed copies. Thus why pocket new testaments and pocket old testaments and pocket Torah and pocket Qū'ran all are things. Smaller books to make it easier to carry. Its not changing the story or removing/adding data
@gclmedia
@gclmedia 22 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! You raise an important perspective about the practicality of publishing and distributing Scripture. The Ethiopian Bible is a prime example of this balance-it uniquely includes both a Broad Canon and a Narrow Canon. The Broad Canon, which contains up to 88 books, is primarily used for liturgical purposes, offering a comprehensive library of sacred texts for study, worship, and teaching. On the other hand, the Narrow Canon, with 72 books, serves more for everyday use and personal devotion, focusing on the core texts that are foundational to faith. This distinction highlights how different traditions have adapted the presentation of Scripture to meet the needs of both accessibility and theological depth. Thank you for bringing this practical lens into the discussion-it’s fascinating to see how traditions like the Ethiopian Church have preserved a rich and adaptable approach to God’s Word!

I didn’t see the Book of Jasher? My Bible - Epistle of Jeremiah and Baruch are two separate books…
@gclmedia
@gclmedia 20 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I didn’t mention the Book of Jasher in this video, but it’s an interesting text often brought up in discussions about biblical canons. As for the Epistle of Jeremiah and Baruch, you’re absolutely right that some Bibles list them as separate books, especially in versions like the King James. However, in other traditions, like the Ethiopian and Catholic canons, they are considered one book, which is why the overall book count varies between traditions. This highlights the complexity and nuances in how biblical books are grouped and counted, depending on the tradition. Thank you for pointing this out-it’s a fascinating topic worth exploring further!

They’re a fascinating read if you haven’t explored them yet! Thanks for the chuckle!

Thank you for your comment! The first word of Genesis, Bereshit, is undeniably profound, with hidden messages and revelations that point to the depth of God’s wisdom. However, if the whole Bible could be taught in just that one word, the rest wouldn’t have been written. Each part of Scripture contributes to the beautiful and complete story of God’s love, redemption, and purpose for humanity. As for King James, it’s unfortunate that his legacy is often distorted. Many misconceptions about him are based on fallacies rather than historical facts. For example, he didn’t translate the Bible himself, nor did he dictate its content. Instead, the 1611 King James Bible was produced by 47 highly skilled scholars with a rigorous process. If you’re interested, I have a video that dives into these misconceptions and sets the record straight-The Fallacies and Misconceptions About King James-which you can watch here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6Wnp5lmo8poe6M. @gclmedia forgive us brother but we are old school. Lol If you brake down the Hebrew letters in barasheth, which by the way are a letter picture number and musical note, you can see all the major biblical themes from Genesis to revelation in God's first word to us. Buckle up, He has a house, He has a Son, He is the destroyer of the door, He is the firstborn of creation He is almighty God , a he is the creator He is the strength of the cross He is the first and last, He sits on the right hand of God , He is coming as a consuming 🔥 He has given us the seal of his covnant. By the way the letters alefand tav are in this word . These are the first and last letters in the Hebrew alphabet. Jesus also said I AM the ALPHA and OMEGA in revelation which are the first and last letters in the Greek alphabet so the first word in Genesis you see Jesus. In matthew, Jesus said you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart ,with all your soul, and with all your mind. And the second is like it ,You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang ALL the law and the prophets ,Genesis to malachi. By the way these two commandments are the 10 commandments. Four dealing with your relationship with God, and six having to do with your relationship with man. Just one more thing if you look at John 21 10-11 Jesus the numerical value of the fish caught 153. This is the numerical total for the Hebrew phrase Ani Elohim which means I AM GOD. We are trying to condense much teaching so people can get a grasp on the bible quicker. It's about Love for God and people and total obedience and surrender to Jesus. By the way we are friends of monte judah and johnathan cahn so we teach from a Hebrew perspective. We can tell from your communication to us that you have tremendous biblical knowledge. Monty was Reggie whites mentor for a long time before he passed away. Reggie was the minister of defense for the green bay packers and one of the greatest players of all time. Hope we didn't bother you too much. Lol Al and Elle.

Yes and king james highly skilled scholars didn't include any jots or tittles, and yes they have meaning or Jesus would not have put them there. No English translation has them either. Fear not you still can get the truth of scripture but , it's really great to know about them. And no ,Google doesn't have a clue either lol ❤
@gclmedia
@gclmedia 24 күн бұрын
You’re absolutely right that jots and tittles are significant-Jesus clearly stated in Matthew 5:18 that not the smallest letter or stroke of the Law would pass away until all is fulfilled. However, it’s important to clarify that jots and tittles are specific to the Hebrew text, not Greek or English. The King James translators, though highly skilled, worked from available Hebrew and Greek manuscripts and aimed for accuracy in meaning, not replication of visual features like jots and tittles. While no English translation includes these marks, the truth of Scripture is still accessible. Studying the original Hebrew and Greek, with tools like interlinear Bibles or trusted scholarly resources, can help uncover their deeper meaning. And you’re spot on-Google isn’t the best resource for this kind of deep dive! Thanks for bringing this up-it’s an important point that reminds us to dig deeper into God’s Word.

@gclmedia
@gclmedia 22 күн бұрын
@zioncaroo7706 The Bible societies, including the American Bible Society, are not the church. They are parachurch organizations, which means they exist to support the work of the church, not to function as the church itself. The church, as defined in Scripture, is the body of believers united in Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23), gathering together for worship, teaching, fellowship, and the administration of the sacraments (Acts 2:42). Bible societies, on the other hand, focus on specific tasks such as translating, distributing, and promoting the Bible. While their work is valuable and often essential to equipping believers and spreading the Gospel, they do not fulfill the role of a church. They lack the core functions of pastoral leadership, communal worship, and spiritual oversight that define the church. Furthermore, their mission is interdenominational, serving Christians from a variety of traditions rather than forming a single, unified body of believers.
