I just wanted to say thank you. My husband recently died in a car accident, and Mike, you are the reason he found Jesus and God. He was a recent convert (as am I), and I can't thank you enough for guiding him into the light before he passed. I am eternally grateful to you. My children and I know that he is in heaven with God because he knew that Jesus is his lord and savior. He was always the intellectual type and loved to read and analyze and study. I don't think he would have been saved if it wasn't for your content. We are going to struggle financially because he worked, and I stayed at home with the kids, but I have faith in God's will, and we will not be afraid. Again, thank you for helping my husband before he passed. Keep up the good work that you do, and I will continue to share your channel. ❤❤❤

@tinagarcia7474, Sister I am truly overjoyed that your husband accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior! God is Sovereign and in control. Praise God! I'm feeling led to encourage you sister, don't worry about your finances. Although I do hope that immediate needs are being taken care of, but know we won't be here much longer. Jesus is coming back, and not just soon, very soon, like any day now soon! Bible Prophecy is jumping off the pages like crazy! Trump is going to be one of the Kings under the leadership of the Antichrist. If you're interested, I can share a short video I watched today that Watchman On The Wall 88 put out. A friend of mine told me about it and I was planning to watch it but hadn't yet. But oh WOW! The Ezekiel 38 and 39 war is about to take place, as things are lining up! And it's believed that war takes place either right before or right after the rapture. I don't know how familiar you are with end times bible prophecy, but we are the Fig Tree generation of Matthew 24, which began in 1948 with the rebirth of Israel, fulfilling Isiah 66:8. According to Psalm:90:10, a generation is between 70-80 years. When you do the math, it gives us a rapture window of 2018-2028. In Fall of 2017, the Revelation 12 sign was fulfilled, which specifically pointed to the rapture of the Church and Jesus' second coming. It was fulfilled just prior to the beginning of the rapture window! When Covid19 happened, that was the final major birth pain before the rapture, as it happened on a global scale and we're now at a "new normal". That virus was created for the vaccine, not the other way around, because that was the test run. What comes next will be the Mark of the Beast, which is currently developed but not available yet. We're heading to a cashless society and their goal is to crash the economy so that they can introduce the new digital currency (CBDC). That technology will be used to track every purchase, and it will be put on and in the right hand or forehead. Sister, we're living in incredible times! Our personal experiences do not rise to the authority of the Bible, but God gave me 2 different dreams several years ago, one was a Jesus dream and the other I was walking with God the Father. Both dreams showed me the rapture would take place in the Fall, but I wasn't given a year. But this year, God has confirmed to me we'll be raptured this Fall! I don't have a clue what day, but all I know is that we're out of here soon! Over a period of several years, God has been helping me form Kingdom plans in a notebook, and I labeled it "treasure list". It's full of various things that will be used for Kingdom work, as well as things that myself and others will enjoy, and God granted it. I recently had a Jesus dream and Jesus made me aware of something that needed fixed in my treasure list and I would not have fixed it otherwise, but I also added some things as a result too. Just yesterday, the Lord told me to finalize one of the sections in my treasure list and then that would be the final things I add before the rapture. Very soon, we'll be with Jesus and our loved ones sister! I am absolutely positive we are going home this year, this Fall. So do what you can to get by, trusting God to provide in tangible ways, but look up, knowing that your King is coming! I hope this gives you comfortable and hope. I can't even express with words how excited I am! The Kingdom Age will be amazing! I'm definitely excited about the 7+ years in heaven after the rapture, but we're going to return with Jesus and rule and reign with Him. Sharing the gospel will be just as important in the Kingdom Age as now, as after the 1,000 years are finished, a multitude of people will be deceived by Satan and attempt to fight against Jesus, but they will all perish. God doesn't tell us the size of that multitude, so in the Kingdom Age, I'll hit the ground running to reach the children for Jesus. History shows us it doesn't take very long for a nation to become wicked and people will hate Jesus but offer Him lip serve to avoid punishment. That breaks my heart! I want people to love Jesus as much as I do, and know that Jesus really truly loves them. Hang in there sister! The Age of Grace is ending, and the Kingdom Age is going to begin soon. God bless and keep you and yours always sis! 🙂

One thing I love about this channel is that it isn’t afraid to go deep-not in an esoteric, gnostic, or mystic way, but in a “what does this actually mean?” way. 40 hours on women in ministry, dozens of hours on Mark, and now 90 minutes on 3 verses. I understand these so much better and have also learned hermeneutical techniques to apply elsewhere in scripture. May God continue to motivate, uphold, and bless Mike, his family, and his team.

@@yafois988TULIP? No. TULIP originated with RC dogma. They believe they are the elect by belonging and there is no need to be born again because they are already chosen. This is why they do baby infant baptisms. No adult needs water baptism if they are already picked before birth and baby baptism was instituted who was already picked. That is why repentance is not taught but penance is taught instead. That is why they do not teach they need to be born again either. They think they are born already picked. They don't teach you do need to be born again and do need to repent should be baptised by full water baptism as an adult. This contradicts the scriptures that say you do need to repent and be born again. Water baptism should be done to show you die to your old self to sin and resurrect in newness like Jesus Christ all clean.

The Apocrypha was printed in the King James Bible and is part of the lectionary for Lutherans, Anglicans, Orthodox, Coptic and every Church up until 1600. They were not canonized but seen as valuable. Understanding books such as the Maccabees gives much needed background to the era Jesus walked on earth.
@alexandremuise8889
@alexandremuise8889 Ай бұрын
Even the Roman Catholic Church still calls them Deutero-Canonical, in their own section (same as Minor Prophets, Major Prophets, Poetry etc) of the OT. these books have been in open debate ever since the Exile into Babylon, throughout the time of Jesus' ministry as well as among the Early Fathers of the Church (Jerome, Origen). 1 and 2 Macabees are great for historical context leading up to the times of Jesus' life, as well as one of the Minor Holidays of Judaism; Hanukah. Like Luther and all other Reformers said; "they may not be Scripturally Authoritative to the Faith, but still valid in edification"
@AVKingJamesBible
@AVKingJamesBible Ай бұрын
The apocrypha is NOT Scripture. It contains many errors. It contradicts actual Scripture. It even contradicts itself. It was NEVER affirmed as Scripture by the ancient Jews. It was NEVER affirmed as Scripture by Jesus. And it was NEVER affirmed as Scripture by any of His Apostles. NOT EVER! Heck it wasn’t even officially recognized by the apostate Roman Catholic Church until the 16th century. It is NOT Scripture. Side note, the translators of the King James were forced to include the apocrypha, but they made it absolutely clear that it WAS NOT Scripture.
@aaronking9332

@@alexandremuise8889 it's not in its own section, it's interspersed throughout the mid to later books of the Old Testament. I do believe it's authoritative scripture but wouldn't use it as a persuasive argument with a protestant brother obviously. They were included in the Greek translation of the Old testament books which was what was in synagogues at the time of Jesus (the Septuagint).

@@aaronking9332the LXX wasn’t just scripture, it was important Jewish cultural works and histories as well as the scriptures. They wouldn’t have it all in one book as they used scrolls in the synagogues. So they would read only from the scrolls of scripture which didn’t include the apocrypha. Just because most Christians throughout history have believed something doesn’t mean that they are right. There was lots of contention early on about the canon by every church father that knew and understood Hebrew. This makes sense because of the animosity between the church and the Jews from very early on. Most in the church were gentiles with no or limited understanding about the Jewish context and thought. So it would follow that they wouldn’t detect the Greek thought mixes in lots of the later texts.

I have a question both for you, Pastor @timothywisner9319 & @MikeWinger - one for which I've NEVER gotten a satisfactory answer from any christian 'Lay Believer' or any member of christian Clergy: The term "Heir" has a very specific meaning in Inheritance Law; an 'Heir' is someones/ "someone who is set to inherit the property of the deceased (or retiring individual) when no will or testament has been made." So referring to Jesus with the term "The Heir to God's Kindom", you appear to be intimidating that God is preparing to 'Step-Down from' of his Position'. Whether his 'Departure' was due to Loss of Interest, Exhaustion, Incapacity -- or in Anticipation of DEATH, the Bible' authors are telling their readers that their Supreme Being was/is preparing to "Pass the Torch to the Next/Younger 'Generation'--his Only Son-- while still 'in full possession' of his mental faculties.' So How Much time after Jesus' Assention- & Reunions with 'Big Daddy' & "The Spook" would J.H.C need to hammer-out the New Division of Labor, "Gets the Angels into FIGHTING Shape" in time for his "Second Coming" ? A couple of days ? (Probably too short) A couple of weeks ? (Possible -- given that All of Heaven would likely have been practicing their "Messiah Drills" for Scores of Decades). Two Years ? Two Decades ? Two CENTURIES ? ...but the TWO MILLENNIA 'Time Lag" for Jesus' 'Curtain Call' has Disappointed Eighty (80) previous Generations of the Faithful ?

And it’s also been proven that we lived alongside Neanderthals 100,000 years ago, which means death and suffering came into the world before Adam and Eve… Sorry for rambling; I have a lot to think about and pray about… God bless you ❤

@@lavieenrose5954 I have thought of this too, I ultimately just accept that there are things about the origins of the earth that even though I may not understand, I’m not necessarily meant to. The idea that god created the earth and mankind is already amazing enough for me. I find with the evidence of Jesus and the old and new testaments having as much correlation and fulfilled prophesy as they do, is “proof enough” for me to undoubtably and comfortably put my faith in Jesus. This is aside from the personal experiences I have had through a relationship with Christ. I love looking into the topic of young vs. Old earth however I think it’s more of a thought experiment and less detrimental to my faith. I think there is evidence from scientists on both sides and it would be interesting to learn more on the topic for sure! It would also be cool if Mike made a video looking into this. However I’m not sure if anyone could have the time to fully look in the vast topic. Prayer is key! Amen to that

I am reading Hebrews right now in my personal time. I have to admit, I was in the first few chapters and felt like skipping to another book because it was so deep that I couldn't understand large passages. It has gotten much easier in later chapters of Hebrews, but I am excited for this study video, Mike!

Thanks, Mike! Your breakdown of Hebrews 1:3-‘He upholds the universe by the word of His power’-was so impactful. It’s amazing to think of Jesus’ role not just in creation but in sustaining everything even now. I also enjoyed the detour into the Wisdom of Solomon and how it highlights Jesus’ superiority in such a unique way. For the next video, will you touch on why some groups, like Jehovah’s Witnesses, view Jesus as an angel? I’d love to hear how Hebrews counters that interpretation. Looking forward to it!

Wow, I’m only twenty minutes in. And have been stopping to take notes. These particular verses about Jesus becoming more, always tripped me up a bit. When speaking of what is cannon and apocrypha for biblical text, one of the things I find so incredibly amazingly beautiful is that the Mosaic tabernacle was laid out in the form of a cross, and if you were to consider a man on that cross, at the right hand would be the candlestick that has 22 bowls, 22 knops, and 22 flowers comprising a total of 66 parts. The Light of the Word, the Light of the World, at the right hand. There are so many minute and massive fractalized spiritual patterns laid out for us... And yet the concept of Christianity is so incredibly simple a child can understand it. It is so deep and wide that we could spend eternity walking through and exploring the layers and beautiful patterns that are found within the Word, our savior, the LORD Jesus Christ. Blessings my brothers and sisters in Him!

@@fritzco55 God bless you for this insight! I believe the menorah specifically is a uniting of all images of Christ and His bride in scripture. Without the center rod, it only has 6 branches and is made of 66 lbs of pure gold as well. The bride without Christ is the harlot, the abomination setting trying to set itself up in the temple of God. At the end of time, a god our ancestors haven't known will put itself in the role of center rod and the world will worship him. That is the abomination of desolation.

This was fantastic. This exact passage is what sparked my transition out of Adventism. I currently wear it as a bracelet on my wrist as a reminder each day, that Jesus not only made propitiation for all sin, but after doing so he SAT DOWN because it was finished! This challenged my views while in Adventism, and after reading the entire book of Hebrews everyday for a week, I was thoroughly convinced Adventism was very wrong, and has a false Christ. Hebrews, as Mike put it, is a powerful, in your face Christology. I highly encourage everyone to read it thoroughly, and I am excited to continue following along with this series!

Thank-you for taking so much time to show the glories of Christ as the agent of Creation, and to connect the various NT Scriptures that speak about it! There has been recent interest in the Apostle's creed and Nicene creed on other channels, and so far, I've not seen much discussion on how short the Christology of those creeds fall when they call the Father "maker of heaven and earth" without equally exalting the Son in that role. In Revelation 5 it is a point of worship around His throne, and your rich descriptions of the Scriptural position were pointing strongly toward that even though (I think) you didn't reference that passage in this episode.

Thank you Lord for this teaching and ministry that has blessed our family as we mature in our walk with You. Thank you sir for your teaching on this amazing book of exhortation! Thank you for the end of the video echoing the clarion call of the book; Jesus is the Son of God, our salvation, great high priest and Lord. "TODAY if you hear His voice; do not harden your hearts" - believe! And then hold fast your confession of faith. Persevere! He is bringing many sons to glory! I'm knee deep in a group study of Hebrews (we're using an inductive study guide/video series) and it's so good! Since we're in chapter 4 in group it's safe to read commentary/watch teaching on earlier chapters... so yeah, go as slow as the Holy Spirit leads, because He knows I won't finish my class until May 2025 (Lord willing) 😄😄😄 Seriously though, this was a good aside because we didn't really get into the whole Wisdom of Solomon in our group. We're strictly using the protestant Bible with a well known "scripture interpret scripture" method study guide. So it didn't touch on this topic. My husband and I thank you for your videos. We attend a line-by-line Bible believing church. I'm digging deeper into scripture and your videos inspire my husband to speak to customers and coworkers at the restaurant about Jesus and apologetic topics. There are customers who come back on nights he works just to continue the conversation with him when picking up their food. Please pray for him (Adam) and the customers and coworkers. We are praying for you, your ministry team and families 🙏🙏🙏 Thanks again, Anne

That doesn’t make it scripture, it lacks all of the markers of scripture. Not tied to a prophet or apostle, not tied to the OT mindset, comes from a time that God was not speaking, a time that Jesus even said was not inspired, and not recognized by the OT Jews.

@ArcticBlits Which jews?? You assume there was no prophecy is this man- decided period of silence. You create your own criteria for scripture rather than letting it speak for itself. I'm not wholly saying they are canon, but the protestant arguments against the Apocrypha are meritless.There were different sects of jews: saducees, pharisees, essenes and the samaritans. Some only used the first 5 books of Moses- should we assume only the first 5 books are canon? Josephus did not give us a list of the name of the books only a number and we assume the 22 books conveniently combined to our 39 books of our OT. You realize the canon we have today is because of Martin Luther and he even included the Apocrypha in the center the bible. The reformed view scripture development is called historical revisionism. I am looking forward to you addressing and rebutting each of my facts. I don't believe you will be able to. The apocrypha was in the bible until the 1800s; you do realize this, right?

@@ArcticBlits Why did the Protestant Bible have the deuterocanon, which included the Wisdom of Solomon, until 1825, then? What makes scripture, scripture? Martin Luther in his Commentary on St. John says “We are obliged to yield many things to the papists-that they possess the Word of God which we received from them, otherwise we should have known nothing at all about it.”

@@ArcticBlitsit's scripture bro. The deuterocanon is definitely part of the Church's collection of scripture. What is your basis to say you have the scriptures? Which ones? 66? If so, why? Where did you get the list? Hopefully not from the church you rejected. Why do you go by the Rabbinical teachers rather than the Church?

Excellent. I am learning, sometimes, the bible is buuncing off of literature and/or references outside scripture for clarification to the audience it was written to at the time. I really like that you brought that up. So often, it would be easy for our time/culture to just miss those things without good footnotes!
