He's pulled stunts in Japan and Israel, previously, but when he started simulating sexual acts on a memorial to Korean women who were abused and killed during WW2, the Koreans decided enough was enough. It's a case of "I'm going to insult as many people as possible, as deeply as possible... oh, why have I been punched in the mouth?...that's not fair!" Fortunately, he's also dumb enough to sit on a subway train and claim to have a bomb. Annoying people may not carry a prison sentence, but violating anti-terrorism laws certainly does.

Not just that, but he knows exactly what those Comfort Women statues are and represent. He wasn't ignorant of anything and he can't play the "I'm just a dumb American" defense. He knows what he did and he heinous it was. And he also never felt actual remorse for his actions in Japan. So in the eyes of the law, committing a crime with premeditation and s clear understanding of the severity of it, is far worse than doing it with ignorance. Even if Korea were to go light on him, he deserves a minimum of six months of prison time for each offense he did. He'll still be doing years in prison for six months each.

Absolutely love it. Where I live. The Spaniards are so peaceful. No bar fights, no violent crime. Every one talks, says hola to you even after one convo. So beautiful to me. I remember one time getting drinks. I may have spoke up too loud but said to bartenders to come to my place. They literally came. And we just had great moment and now everytime on weekends they sneak free drink to me and invite me with them, even their homes with food with parents. I never experienced before in US. Even most my friends I never met parents. Here it’s subconscious way of showing appreciation. “Come have food with my family!?” I think its cool all my friends drive old stick shift hatch backs. Something as American I needed to learn. In US i felt the need for Audi or something luxury. Here, even my friend who is dentist and her friend who is doctor drives old diesel hatchbacks with manual transmission. Very peaceful, very friendly. But try acting gangster or hoodlum. Good luck. The men here are so nice. Don’t act all serious, but will fight you if disrespectful to their community.

When you're a Black person abroad in certain places you're basically like an ambassador for you race. I was placed on an airline seat next to a Korean woman once on KAL. This women paniced and asked the stewardess to move her. I chatted with her and it turns out we had the same profession. We spoke and had a nice time. He hasn't even been charged with everything yet. One of the law channels covered this yesterday. He has like 3 charges against him and half a dozen more still pending investigation. He could even face more if more of the public caught on camera without permission decide to add their own additional complaints. Korean justice system is slow but thorough. It could be months before he's convicted and then another wait for sentencing hearing. They have no reason to rush, he's travel banned and no easy way out of the country. They will just leave him out on bond awaiting trial while he has to spend his own money on living expenses.

Better yet let’s release him under one condition: He has to enter North Korea over the Demilitarized zone and exit via China. But he has to live stream himself doing the same antics while crossing North Korea. Guarantee this man never sees the light of day after crossing that border. For those who don’t know North Korea really knows how to sentence people to manual labor. So much so they have generational prison sentences. As in if have kids and are punished to 60 years in prison then your kids get to serve the rest of your punishment. Essentially the Somali lineage will never make it anywhere!

Look at his stream and upload numbers; they are laughably weak, which makes the situation even more sad considering he’s throwing his life away for literal peanuts. While I don’t disagree that internet culture as a net whole is toxic and encourages bad behavior in order to gain recognition, I don’t think it’s fair to claim the entire internet in its entirety is just “bad”. I don't think such a big step is likely to be supported. Try something less extreme like giving them a fine equivalent to the amount donated. After that law has been in place for long enough for people to acclimate to, people will be a step closer to being willing to support something more harsh (or finding the milder solution works well enough that something that harsh isn't needed).

Well, stupid did this stuff in Korea NOT the USA, so there is NO constitutional rights there. A boy went tagging and got caught, he was sentenced to 10 lashes with a split bamboo cane. His parents went to the Embayes and under law they have the right to punish as they see fit. A doctor is present to make sure the one being punished is awake the whole time. If you faint, they wake you up. But if he gets a big sentence don't feel bad, he won't last long with his smart-ass mouth.

Adding the charges up being someone who lives in South Korea he could get 20-30 years, but they never give max sentences. He is more likely to get 5-6 years because he is a foreigner especially US citizens get light sentences and then he will get deported he could face hard labour if he cannot pay the fines which accompany the sentences.
