How does your thesis hold up that Exodus 6:39 is suggesting that Moses is uncircumcised when the threat of death for uncircumcised is back in 4:24-26, even before Moses returned to Egypt?

Excellent question. I should have expounded on the encounter in 4:26. Zipporah, a Hebrew, tells Moses he is a husband of blood BECAUSE of the circumcision she just performed on their son. It appears that she is telling Moses that because of the circumcision of their son, blood has been shed to keep him in the covenant. But we still never read about Moses himself becoming circumcised, and by examing his language, he was still grappling with the fact that he was not circumcised, but it appears that God had accepted the circumcision of Moses' son as enough to keep him in the Covenant. Another clue is that God had already answered Moses' objections to speak based on his heavy mouth and heavy tongue. God had given him Aaron to speak. So, the passage is clearly referring to his circumcision, which had clearly not been done to him based on his response and Zipporah's reaction.
