It's another epsiode of Was It Any Good, as chosen by you the fans. This time it's Mr Kennedy (Anderson) for his TNA run starting 2010 all the way up to 2016. He was hailed as a future star in WWE but it all went wrong when Randy Orton and John Cena complained to Vince Mcmahon that he was dangerous in the ring. So when he arrived in TNA he had a point to prove. But was he any good?

Regardless of whether or not you like him, Mr. Anderson’s run was horrifically booked. He turned heel and face so many times that nobody knew what to think of him a year into his tenure. He also never had that defining run with the WHC, although he did have two short runs with it in 2011.

I like him a lot, he has what most modern wrestlers don't have, which is charisma and personality that at least to some extent allows the character to survive devastating loss, but even that has it's limits. I think he's great, he's a lot like Grandpa Flair where I don't really care if he wins or loses as long as he entertains, but they did stretch it too far. Ultimately he's someone who really needed a booker who was looking out for him because without direction he just ended up floundering.

I loved Mr Anderson in TNA/IMPACT, but they did him dirty on his way out He had a match with Gunner that was so dire (it was during the time when Samuel Shaw was with Gunner) that the fans hijacked it with chants such as Adam Rose’s theme song The second iteration of the Mr Anderson/Samuel Shaw feud (after Shaw was released from the “funny farm”) was terrible In the World Title Series , he came last in his group Plus a random talk show called “Huh?” that I think lasted one segment I know Anderson ruined it himself by failing that drugs test and getting fired , but TNA don’t half now how to ruin their talent sometimes booking-wise🙁🙁🙁

Never watched his TNA run but i always enjoyed Mr. Kennedy (Kennedy). He was entertaining in WWE and memorable (i still do the Kennedy chant from time to time) but got the short end of the stick. Was he a main eventer or ever going to be? No, but i think he could´ve had the career Miz is having being a solid midcarder for most of the time while occationally getting a WWE Title. He wasn´t the worst wrestler in WWE at that time but Orton and Cena opened their mouths and gone he was.

Eh the thing is the Miz goes 100% be it losing to a random celebrity, or winning the world title. When Kennedy/Anderson was on he was in a main event program he rose to the occasion, but if he wasn't being pushed he was pretty much a waste of everyone's time. If WWE wants the Miz to figure out a way to sell and put over a 10 year old child - he can do it, and at least make it somewhat entertaining. To me Kennedy needed a great storyline, a great opponent, or else it just felt like he didn't care and wasn't interested

Issue with Kennedy/Anderson is he just never seemed to be too motivated all things considered. I think Mr Kennedy/ Anderson is a good example of great talent, but poor booking. He was charismatic as hell, and while his moveset was simple he made it work. Ken was a great heel that could be funny and even likeable but never became too likeable that you supported him over the face he was trying to put over. His problem was constant and unjustified face/ heel turns, being written off tv and creative just clearly not having anything for him to do. I remember a lot of people calling him CM Punk lite, and to be fair it was true to an extent, but I never saw what was wrong with that. He played the role well and if you're a discount version of the hottest wrestler at the time that seems more like a pro than a con.

What are the benefits of a gluten-free cereal unless you're a coeliac? Love ya vids though man
@Just.Kidding
@Just.Kidding 2 жыл бұрын
Gluten _can_ aggravate some people's IBS. If you don't have IBS, then there are *_absolutely no benefits whatsoever._* Hell, it actually has _drawbacks;_ Not only are gluten substitutes and alternatives more expensive, but those substitutes almost always taste worse. So a gluten-free cereal - or anything gluten-free, really - tastes worse, is more expensive, and is completely unnecessary for non-celiac/IBS.
@Just.Kidding
@Just.Kidding 2 жыл бұрын
The worst thing of all, though - in purchasing gluten-free food, people support the same industry responsible for the non-gmo "movement"/fad/blight/plague; even if they've purchased the rare product that's gluten free but ISN'T non-gmo. Don't even get me started on GMOs cuz that's a whole other can of worms lmao. Suffice it to say that the non-gmo industry is fundamentally based on deception/misinformation, is anti-scientific to the point of dogmatism, legitimately threatens the future of our society. The non-gmo industry has _already caused_ real, tangible, and significant harm to humanity, having caused hundreds, if not thousands of deaths with the Golden Rice issue because they couldn't afford to let people learn how much potential GMOs had, how beneficial they'd be, and how much good they'd do. TL;DR - Most importantly, buying gluten-free also directly supports the non-gmo industry, which (for reasons better explained by others) is a _VERY bad thing._

OK, the concussion storyline really made me upset, and here is why. This happened in 2010, which was around the same time WWE started banning chair shots to the head due to fears of concussions and CTE. TNA's response was to double down with more chair shots to the head out of spite. The result was Mr Anderson getting concussed for real, and taking time off. Say what you want about WWE, but at least they are conscious enough to consider the safety of their workers inside the ring, whereas TNA had Homicide hit Rob Terry with an unprotected chair shot to sell how much of a badass Terry was (blood and all) just to give WWE the middle finger. Even if you are vehemently anti-WWE and/or hardcore Impact Wrestling, you cannot justify exploiting these real-life head trauma issues that have led to several deaths in the sports world, wrestling included.
@Erlewyn
@Erlewyn 2 жыл бұрын
From what I've read, Terry got into trouble backstage with that chairshot, because he was supposed to actually protect himself but chose not to.
@kennycai8695
@kennycai8695 Жыл бұрын
@@Erlewyn I'm not sure about Terry getting in trouble, but it certainly gave TNA a PR black eye, since this angle came off the back of a real life death in wrestling. Chris Kanyon took his own life around the same time this angle aired (and when WWE banned chair shots to the head), and there are whispers that CTE (alongside his struggles with his own personal life) was a contributor to Kanyon's death. Intentional or not, it was very bad taste and bad timing, and again, does not justify TNA amping up such dangerous stunts just to stick it to WWE.

i was in my early teens and the most memorable thing from Mr. Kennedy was the Survivor Series Qualifier he had vs Eddie Gurrerro (Eddie's Last match). The post match where he chair shotted the shit out of Eddie after he out smarted Kennedy to win. I was not aware of all the details back then but I always thought back then that Kennedy played a part in Eddies passing becuase that chair shot was bruital.

I saw tna live the show after he beat Jeff hardy at Genesis 2011 for the world title at the height of Andersons ASSHOLE gimmick and now looking back he’s a big part of why I kept watching tna over WWE at the time, he gave absolutely 0 fucks and was so different than anything else in tv at the time. I miss the good TNA days

A lot of guys were held back and not allowed to show their full potential in WWE, but Ken Anderson is one of those guys who actually thrived in the WWE system. In TNA, his comedy was goofy midcarder stuff. In WWE he had a real mean-streak which worked better for him.

Blame TNA's horrific booking. If he'd been presented his entire run like in his feud with Angle, he'd have been 5x champ for sure.

I'd definitely say Mr. Kennedy was underrated. Dude was fire on the mic and was honestly a great wrestler, his matches with Kurt Angle in TNA and the stories they told in the ring were incredible. The steroid shit just happened at the worst possible time for him.

Magic spoon was actually pretty nasty but I buy it anyway. Iv tried 4 flavors and they all had the same base taste with a light different flavor. I recommend Kashi go lean cereal. It's like 4 dollars and almost as good for u and literally the best cereal iv eaten in my life is the peanut butter flavor. But iv tried them all and they are all good. I do still buy magic spoon tho.
