I love this idea, had a similar one 3-4 years ago. In addition to what is in the video, I also think there is a possibility... * It's not two separate universes, both are parallel and intrinsically linked. * It may explain where all the anti-matter went during the big bang. * Black hole singularities become (tunnel in to) white holes in this parallel universe. * Entropy decreases in the anti-universe universe. * Contraction from decreasing entropy in the anti-universe could be dark energy in our universe.

Sean Carrol frequently states that he gives very little credence to amateur scientist hypothesis that are sent to him. He feels you have to go through the whole academic process leading to a PhD before you should be taken seriously. I'm just a simple engineer working a day job who likes to watch theory of eveything videos and articles created by science popularizers. Amazingly, maybe 15 years ago, I intuitively came to the conclusion that the missing antimatter that was supposed to have been created at the Big Bang was the matter that went in the opposite time direction as us. That the block universe illustrations showing the expansion of the universe was not symmetrical and there should be a universe expanding off to the left in the negative time direction. I'm sure lots of other layman had the same idea and I'm surprised how long it's taken for real scientists to develop this hypothesis. Sometimes experts have information overload and not ready to throw away established thinking. Maybe AI's will be the unencumbered fresh minds that will move things forward. 🤔

To the point ! But I understand why, its hard to take seriously unfiltered audience, and everyone thinks /(ike T.Howard) that they know "the truth". So you avoid layman. Result is that specialised scientist live in a bubble of already known in never ending feedback loop of the same ideas, and just dig deep at the same. I think, just like Dr. Keating, teaching aka spreading the knowledge should be at least 10% of specialists job. New ideas are comming when speaking with layman, sometime about totaly unrelated things. My best programming solutions came thru "rubber ducky" efect. SOmetimes totaly wrong suggetion from collegue gives birth to great solution as an opposition. And there is a great thirst in people for discussion like this, as following of Dr.Keating, Sabine H Christ (my favorite human with spine), PBS Spacetime etc. But yea, everyone has its own obligation,work...and even in my field, I am medocre to good developer, and I dont know all programming languages, all algortihms, all module's where programming solution's are appled. Same with any science branch. You know what you know and you have time for what you find important. Life is short, never mind is it going forwards or backwards.

@katulicful Yes, I find that trying to explain my expertise to a layman forces me to phrase things in the simplist terms and then on top of that, hearing my own words with my own ears seems to further clarify my thinking. I have another crackpot theory about that phenomenon which is that audible speech processing neural networks feed into your "reasoning" network. A lot of people think out loud and I belive it might work better than just your inner voice. I watch Sabine but many times find that she is too critical of speculative ideas. If I was a physicists and she turned her debunking on me, I'd ask her to tell me some of her bright ideas, Miss Smartypants! I like shows that explain new physics, shows about speculative physics, but not shows that try to throw a wet blanket on somebody's embryonic theory. My recent comment that Sabine is more in the demolition business than the construction business drew some backlash from her fans.🤣✌️
@katulicful16 минут бұрын
@@markstipulkoski1389 I dont think that. Curt in TOE exctly in talk with Sabine phrase it perfectly - you dont have to have a better theory to be critical about smth "put up or shut up". I dont think its good reasoning. You can logicaly dismantle somebody theory even though you dont have your solution..just as you can propose your solution but have no proof or logic that supports it (going back to the problem of layman theories). I dont think either is necessaraly bad. I mean MApertuis's action principle was put on paper on a hunch from the thin air and ended being correct (being rediculied by his peers), and Fermat was judge by day-mathematician by night and Physicist by mistake haha. I am trying to say that everyone should be wellcomed, but also critisized. I very rigurously critisize my collegues work, if I see a bad thing, I call it out to my collegue senior. If I see a bad thing from Junior - I show and demonstrate with "why not to" example. Among the senior peers, esspecialy in edge science, seems like nobody is listening, so someone like Sabine, stirring the waters is very wellcomed. In case she is wrong, well currently everbody is wrong, Dark Matter is temporary unimaginative solution as "ether " was. BTW, your audible processing observation is correct, I re-lived it many times. There is also "callami" thing, when you are writting smth on paper, its also somehow mor etangible, more serious, and its like someone else is writting it. Also when you talk in some other language your becoming like some other person with different auto reactions, even character. Yea, and Santa is real haha ! Merry Christmas

Few years back when I was kinda thnking about "missing antimatter", I figured, ok at Big Bang, matter went in our time way, and antimatter went "backwards" in time..or at least down the abcissa into "minus". What puzlled me was, if we have antimatter occurrance in "our universe" in experiments where we observed lets say positrons, wouldnt we notice causality flipped, effect before a cause in our time sequence ? That confused me. But if time antipod universe exist, it also has Gravity and I thought that that Gravity may be seeping into our universe because it might be time arrow unbound(dont ask how, didnt think it thru, have a daily job), so we observe and interpert it as "dark matter". Anyway, yea, interesting concept.
@G0ldbl4e8 сағат бұрын
I have thought this for a while. CPT symmetry would still answer baryogenesis perfectly fine if there was another, mirrored, antimatter universe going backwards in time. Of course this means that a time-traveling particle couldn't come to us from that alternate universe, because it would have to pass through the big bang.

Three-dimensional universes compressed into a flat state or shape with 180°distribution instead of 360° this means that the third spatial dimension is not the highest spatial dimension... If we follow this pattern in a four spactial-dimensional universe the relative state or shape of the universe would be toroidal if it was the fundamental highest spatial dimension... More than likely though it is round or even in distribution just as our three-dimensional universes perceived as flat (a two-dimensional property) and if so the fifth spactial dimension is toroidal with backwards spinning time.

what is the difference between a neutrino and an antineutrino? they are both elementary and neutral. how can you distinguish between them other than left or right handed? then the question is why one is only left handed and the other is not is self evident.

I love turok for his in general sobre angles on reality as well as being creative! However not for this concept! The concept of an anti-universe where time truly flows in reverse poses serious conceptual challenges. It requires: A redefinition of information and causality. A reversal of the second law of thermodynamics and thus entropy evolution. The abandonment or rewriting of the concept of emergence as we know it. A new framework for logic, causality, and empirical research. These issues make it extraordinarily difficult to describe such a universe in a physically consistent manner, let alone derive empirical predictions from it. For this reason, the concept of an anti-universe is primarily theoretically intriguing but, at this point, far from logical or physically plausible within the context of our known laws of physics. So personally I do not find this logic. A sterile neutrino could indeed be Dark Matter, so this seems logic, but will be very hard to proof.

The entire narrative about symmetry is utterly meaningless unless you know it already. It would be better to give a derivation for one example: e.g. Start with a concrete example like 2D rotation (Lagrangian independent of θ → angular momentum conserved) before discussing general symmetry principles.
