Don't hesitate to point at any possible mistakes. I'm always happy to be corrected - in a polite way is always better. As ever, thanks for watching.

I vaguely remember seeing these signs in Dr Quinn Medecine Woman 😅 But I thought it was to help the viewers understand what was being said. Never knew this was an actual language.😂 Thanks for sharing!

I also thought the same actually. I am glad I somehow managed to find answers.

Very interesting theme, indeed. I was also fascinated by first nation people since childhood days and still am..... I agree, that their live circumstances were predetermined to use hand signs to communicate over far distances, being silent at the same time. In movies and in pictures however you can hardly see much mimic in contrast, which is eminent in communication also.... I worked a very long time with mentally retarded children and it was extremely important to add mimic and hand signs to the spoken words, also using visual symbols, once they got older. Thank you so much for your work and sharing it. I appreciate it and I am always impressed. Language, history and society at its best. ❤

Your point about mimics is actually a very good one. It seems to be an important part of signing. Thank you for your comment, Carola!

I sometimes notice or read things that spark a genuine interest. I then end up researching about it, like for Chinese and predictive text. I found a typewriter and thought "well a Japanese would never have been able to write on this machine... how did they do then?" And from there, I start the journey to find answers. Here I had already noticed hand talk in movies and really wondered why it was used. I agree that sometimes these themes are a bit random 😂 😂
