It's not just the silhouette of the shoe. The overall way they marketed the C1TY is very similar to the general purpose as a do everything lifestyle shoe for people's urban lives. I think it's fair to say it's taking over that segment and audience of the general purpose shoe

These being the 2.0 version of the Tom Sachs was my immediate thought when I saw these.

Got the brownstone colourway. Great fit and fairly good comfortable cushion. It's just under a hundred U.S. equivalent here in Aus. The moment I saw these and especially that midsole, Tom Sachs GP instant vibes. Outsole lugs on these I think are even better plus the heel pull tab is of proper length unlike the extra long ones on the GP's

The City shoes in the back are very similar to the GPS - in style and material. Tho the City’s are the most comfortable shoes I’ve worn in a while, and more comfortable than the GPS.

I disagree with your points. The second I saw the shoes, I immediately thought of Tom Sachs GPS. Between the lugged soles, the bacony ankle, the straps, even the colorways are very similar. It’s also marketed the exact same was the GPS were, the do it all, wear everyday, general purpose pair. The durability, the quality, and the materials used compared to other pairs, it is clear that they’re going for the same thing the GPS were.

I have the new Nike C1ty… Incredible shoe. The soles are strange though with the cleat - like treads. When walking on smooth surfaces, I don’t feel like I’ve got super confident grip. Anyway, they are so comfortable. I’ve actually ordered a pair in that army green colour too.
