alright i wonder how this'll go down Firstly, i don't think immortals fenyx rising is THAT blatant. It's definitely unoriginal but they didn't copy designs from my understanding (i just found it unbelievably boring so i'll continue to poke fun at it) I don't think using other game mechanics should be considered "copying". For those who don't know, Pokemon was inpsired by both Dragonquest and possibly SMT Persona. Difference here though is the designs are vastly different. I genuinley love palworld and I'm actively avoiding playing it cause it feels like I'd get addicted to it real fast lol. I really do think it's a good thing for the Pokemon franchise as a whole and while it's cool for the Palworld devs to achieve such success, my nerdy ass is just hoping this makes future pokemon games better. As for the copied pokemon designs...that I don't like at all. I don't really care who is copying from who - I just don't like people using other peoples designs like that (and if you can't tell, I'm not the biggest fan of AI for art either lol). I seriously think the game would've succeeded just as well if they made completely original pals. Alas, let's hope Nintendo's legal assassins don't go too hard here cause there are way too many people that are loving palworld right now and it would be a shame to have anything happen to the game

Have you seen dragon quest? Digimon? Monster rancher? This game is stealing as much as Pokémon did to them. Absolutely ridiculous that ppl feel the need to defend a multi billion Corp that also steal designs from other media and fan arts. Look I like Pokémon but you know what? I love palworld as well and Digimon and monster rancher. There is only so many cutesy, ,elemental, animal designs you can do before stuff start looking the same.

Might as well be with how starved like a hyena frustrated Pokémon fans are, they really want a change and touch up to the formula, they had it with Legends: Arceus but they'll never do it ever again, a shame, unless...? Please actually make the game for Teenage audiences so we can actually make Pokémon a menace to medieval society, like Palworld's legendary battles are freaking hype! Pokémon? I haven't been this excited since I was 10 or 11 during the Unova days since Gen 5 was my first, Zekrom and Reshiram was LIT as hell, Palworld gave me that feeling again, Legends: Arceus was very close, but it needed a bit more thrill and danger to it.

I feel like a lot of people have been conditioned from childhood to recognize pokemon. I mean the TV show literally had a social conditioning intermission mid episode to see if you could tell the outline of a pokemon. Yeah, there's a few suspect designs, I can call something similar when I see it, but there are some designs being claimed to be plagiarism that are... Round sheep thing is too similar to Wooloo, any kind of plant dinosaur is a 1:1 copy of Meganium... A hooved animal with horns is BLUE? No, too similar to Cobalion. The most valid comparisons I've seen are the one that looks suspiciously like Luxray, and one that kinda looks like GMax Eevee but tiny The issues are being FAR overblown by a very toxic part of the fandom and I hate it, people can just... Like their own game, it doesn't even have the same gameplay genre

it’s not a copy but it lacks creativity that’s required for a game the entire reason it’s popular is because it’s pokemon with guns and you can enslave them but also i have played before and im pretty far in and i keep calling pals pokemon for how similar they are. like everything about pal world is good besides the models and the designs of the pals and the company has been in some things like this before but the dev even stated that he would not focus on creativity to bring an experience for everyone.

As someone who played both i also agree with your opinions , the thing that look the same is the design when i’m playing palworld i rarely memorize the name i usually said pokemon names because they quite resemble the design of pokemon for example incineram ( i looked up google before making this comment by searching palworld houndoom) and ofc i called it houndoom because it looks like a houndoom that is standing lol. But overall palworld is good the cons is some minor bug, ability to move objects in base and ofc the pal design some are quite lazy to be frank like relaxaurus and some pal look like straight up pokemon (and i can assure some of you ,if you played pokemon from gen 1 you can see the similarities or where they get the idea from) but aside from that i’m happy for the game success and i hope gamefreak might release some better gameplay in their next installment. Also one thing i wanna add i also played DQ series especially the monster series like DQM joker 1 and 2 also the recent dark prince and ofc the SMT series from SMT 4,5 ,devil survivor,strange journey and persona . What i really wanna say is maybe pokemon might have a few inspiration back in the days from Dragon quest but that’s just a few from gen 1 other than that nothing look the same , as for SMT , it based on angel demons and folklore no way pokemon using those design 😂 idk why people correlates SMT and pokemon.

I bought palworld a few days ago and it's basically Ark with Pokemon instead of dinosaurs. Some of the pals are almost clones of some pokemon. But I mean it's fun I just wish it had about double or triple the amount of pals. After just a couple days I've already found about 1/3 maybe 1/2 the deck.

Well this is mostly because a lot of the Pals look TOO SIMILAR to the Pokemon. Like just in the cover we got a zeraora, a shiny lopunny, a cobalion and a raichu along with others. They took TOO MUCH inspiration when it comes to design. It's also worth noting that when you capture the Pals, the ball lights up three times, just like Pokemon. And it's core mechanics also feel somewhat like Ark Evo, not to mention inspirations taken from several others games. Sure it's not very original but we love it because it's got nooks and crannies from every one of our favourite games. It's almost as if every game company collabed together to make a game for every player from every genre

The thing is, Pokémon has such a vast variety of abstract characters, you're bound to come up with a few they are obviously very similar. Yes, the artwork and style of Pokémon is appealing, but that doesn't give them a right to trademark 'style'. The biggest thing about these comparisons is that the general audience is composed of younger millenials and older gen z. The majority of marketing towards them was always corny and oversimplified and we ourselves oversimplify things. It's like asking someone in this demographic what rdr2 is and they say "it's skyrim with guns" lol. They don't know how to say open world so they say skyrim. Conversely the same with this where they say "pokemon with guns" because they don't know how to define an rpg with battle and capture mechanics beyond "pokemon" lol

I do hope Game Freak ups there game. I’ve played the games since Gen 1 and couldn’t get myself to play the Switch versions because of their performance issues (and other changes.) I also hope Pal World continues to learn from their own success and makes changes to better suit their fans. If both change for the better and succeed, then everyone (especially the fans) will be win.
