Took a big risk he didn’t have to take, beat an up & comer on a 5 fight finish streak & also won as the underdog. Ranked 9 spots higher & still was the underdog & got it done via finish, that’s why. He doesn’t deserve it over Gaethje still but Gaethje has Holloway business & Charles is booked. Book the fight

Bro this isn't about that, poirier is a veteran of the division and top for so long and he got the finish and the time is right, winner of charles oliviera or arman tsarukyan will not be able to turn around for june just 2 months after their fight, and neither the winner of gaethje and holloway, hence timing wise makes sense for dustin as he's ranked 3 and had a finish.
