That's when Diaz should slap him.🤣 Ariel's world success and beef with Dana is nerdy. In fairness he is trying to show the UFC are immoral scumbags to the fighters . But sometimes he royally messes up because UFC is an exploitive monopoly and the fighters get tricked.....in speaking the truth on their bosses. This is never good for the fighter. To claim absolute free speech is propaganda.IMO.

At 1:00 Ariel commits a logical fallacy when he says, "I have been doing this show since 2009, you think I am trying to make the fighters look bad? 15 years I have been doing this show". Buckley didn't say that Ariel is trying to make the fighters look bad. He is saying that Ariel USES the fighters as a weapon to attack the UFC, and he doesn't necessarily care if the fighters look bad as a result. Totally different meanings and a complete logical fallacy... this example should be used in a college logic class. He does do that, and I have heard him many times try to get them to say things that could get them in trouble.

It's not a logical fallacy. Aced those classes. The set of variables (the predicate) to test is weaponizing fighters, making them look bad. He says, I'm not trying to weaponize them, make them look bad. He's bringing up important issues, and fighting the good fight. That will always be contentious, have grift. Since the fighters in the sport and on his show for 15 years, are his bread and butter, it's general proof it's in his interest. He wouldn't shoot himself in the foot. Grift for standing up for yourself, the fighters, is the nature of it. The only alternative is no fight, letting them walk all over you. No logical fallacy in his set, and proof.
@Eric-vr8mc
@Eric-vr8mc Ай бұрын
If you want it put into logic arguments, like you would for school, here: 1. Fighters (subject), weaponizing look bad (predicate) 2. Fighters (subject), fight for interest caring about (predicate) So 2 is the actual case, contradicts 1. (You can also say, instance of 2, vs instance of 1.) Other proof: Fighters in the sport and on my show (subject), are my bread and butter (predicate). It is the sport and his show, pretty obvious instance. He's maintained the show 15 years, so it continues to be true. If he weaponized, didn't care, then he wouldn't continue having people on his show. Lack of proof against. It still, mostly comes down to that fighting for interest is going to create some contention or grift.

There is a feeling of Ariel making fun of fighters that are already in an awkward spot with the promotor that looks like exploiting their powerlessness for the sake of making his point. Being questioned into a corner to where you need to give a non-answer from someone who's not a decision maker just lacks a bit of consideration and decency.

Ariels done this show for 15 years guys. But lets give the man his due credit, hes been an antagonizer, pot stirrer, and mischief maker since he started mma journalism. Tons of fighters hate him be cause of his rudeness and purposeful phrasing of questions to create beef among other fighters in addition to the UFC. Hes mad at the UFC enough to look for every opportunity to put them down. However, also to his credit, if you disagree with his question and give a mindful response, he will not dismiss it and he will delve deeper. He is just very biased and likes to agitate everyone. Some love him, some hate him, Ariel is not for everyone.

Ariel Helwani is a snake in the grass. Meaning he is evasive, clever, and manipulative in his actions. He relies on using "semantics" for lack of a better word, to weasel in and out of controversial or questionable circumstances that he often motivated or influenced, and then often portrays himself as a victim or champion of a situation dependent upon which benefits himself more. I havnt decides whether I find his career and demeanor impressive or just bold yet, but I do know that I don't much respect it either way. In fact, I resent it and him more and more.

Pretty sure the best examples of what a weasle Ariel can be are what he did to Dricus Du Plessis; and trying to apply US race relations to the DDP/Izzy nonsense, as Izzy is Kiwi and African, trying to call DDP the N word (US term) and saying nothing. Ariel wanted to make DDP out to be racist and gross, when it was only Izzy being incredibly racist and unprofessional. Then there was the Jamal Hill mess: Ariel wanted Jamal to condemn and ask for the firing of Dana white when he smacked his wife. Jamal said, no one should put their hands on anyone and that it was a messy situation for eveyone. So Ariel was trying to spin it like Jamal supports hitting women.

Ariel is kind of like Chael where they interview fighters and ask PERSONAL QUESTIONS that conflicts with other people in the organization, then goes to the third party to get more info to create a story for their platform that fits a narrative for a GOSSIP COLUMN. Most times this problem has nothing to do about fighting. They both are INSTIGATORS but act like nothing is wrong on their part when they go out of their way to create conflict between two people just to stir the pot to create drama. Don't get me wrong they are both well spoken and very intellectual in doing their job, and I enjoy listening to them both at times, but yeah they both like to poke at the bear. lol
