Jesus Christ was written about by his eyewitnesses - contemporaries who were his followers - and also non-Christians shortly after Jesus. All non-Muslim historians regard Jesus' existence and his death as certain facts. Muhammad was written about often centuries after he was supposed to live, supposedly, from traditions that had been passed down and only from Muslims! There is no non-Muslim reference to Muhammad, evidencing his existence, life and teaching for at least 100 years after the time he was supposed to have lived.

Well, I remember to have listened to a documentary, back when I was in the pursuit of forming my personal judgement on Islam, were it was claimed that archaeology shows the earliest Mosques were all directed at Petra, not Mekka and that Mekka wasn't even that big thing at the time the supposed "prophet" lived there, that is described in the text. It was neither on the silk road or near any other notable trade route, nor was there much religious travel to the city, at the time. I have to be honest enough, to say it's hear-say and I haven't really fact checked any of it, since I didn't deemed it very relevant for my personal judgement of "the believers", but for the question at hand, disproving their believes even further, at the base so to speak, these might be vital clues to follow. It's always harder to disproof physical evidence, than say, heckling over if some documents date is forged or not. I could believe he didn't exist, but if you could make a strong as possible case on that, I would appreciate it. In my eyes they are just the heirs of the Mongol hordes and they should be treated as such anyways.

Muhammad never wrote the quran because he couldn't read or write he's illiterate. Many other writers wrote what they thought was revealed to him (mhmd) hundred of years after the fact. These writers did not only live hundreds of years after the supposed events they actually lived thousands of miles away from the scene of events.

Excellent. It seems more and more likely that the Islamic Muhammad never existed. The kindest thing we can say is that he is probably based upon one or more minor historical figures. That makes him similar to the British King Arthur. Some obscure 5th century Celtic leader was almost certainly the basis of the Arthurian legends, but he wasn't King of all England, nor did he do all the fabulous things attributed to the mythological Arthur.

Who is or was Muhammad? Ahmad, was it Al-Mahi, meaning the eraser? Or Qutham, the Son of the Slave of Al-Lat, and Al-Lat... The main differences being that the only physical, historical records of Mohammed the Prophet of Islam appear a couple hundred years afterward, and these only at the hand of Muslim hagiographers.
