I really think the QiDi Q1 Pro should have taken the place of the Creality K series. It's the best printer for printing ABS and other engineering materials due to the heated chamber. And I found mine to be very reliable and easy to use. And it's cheaper than the K1. Glad you talked about it in your honorable mention, but I really think it's way better than the K1 which many have complained about several issues.

I have a Prusa MK2S I put together from a kit in 2017, the one with metal rods for a frame and plastic ties holding some of it together. I've been printing ABS and some PLA since 2017 and the only thing I've changed on it is the nozzle every 2 or 3 years. In fact, a few years ago our cat knocked it onto the floor while it was printing. I picked it up, stopped it and put the print bed all the way to the top to realign it and that was it, back to printing. Today, 7 years later, I'm printing shafts and gears for a gearbox for one of my RC ships with it. The print quality is there. I am looking to add a second printer now but want one that will equal the MK2S low maintenance and high reliability and up-time. I am thinking about the Bambu Lab P1S but not if it is going to require maintenance or repairs in the first 5 years or so or if it requires upgrades to get it up to where it needs to be. Is the A1 better than the P1S for MTBF? The A1 has an upgraded hotbed cable so that must've been a bad design. Are the Bambu Lab printers really a lot better than the latest Prusa MK? My Time and My Frustration Quotient are the most expensive things to consider in a new printer for me. I'm not into 3D printers, just designing and producing things.
@LoyalMoses3 ай бұрын
Prusa has always made great machines! I have a lot of them. My thoughts, the Bambu experience is the best the industry has ever had, and the quality and speed are unmatched. Everyone, including Prusa is trying to match Bambu, which is great for all of us. Your money will go further and your experience will be the best with that P1S. Amazing machine.

My SV-08 is a hot mess. Prints PETG somewhat reliably but makes a dog's dinner out of PLA for some reason. I've already invested too much time in trying to calibrate/tune the PLA profile in Orca to no avail. I have even replaced the hot end. Anyway, out of 10 printers, my P1S, P1P and two A1's are easily the top dogs.

Like any product, prices start falling before new products are released. Like 2024 New Cars are cheaper in December than the 2025 models. There is a lot of product in the pipeline and manufactures want to get rid of it before the new products hit the shelves. Christmas is a magic moment for retailers. They want their new stuff on the market before then. So the question for buyers is how much are you willing to pay for the latest and greatest? That applies to most any tech these days. If what you see is good enough, buy it! If you want the latest and greatest wait, know that this stuff is evolving rapidly and there will always be bigger and better down the road. Step back, look at what you want and need and pick a printer that will do it for the cheapest price.

The prices have not dropped enough to be worth it for me. For the price Prusa just doesn't cut it for me. I know they are good but in my opinion, I just don't want one. And as for Bamboo well I am on the fence. The only one I would consider is the P1S. I have 3 bed slingers already and hardly use them. My k1 works so well now and is so fast. Creality may have switched directions with the K series, but at the same time they still haven't learned their lesson. They take a printer and then start spitting out multiple variations. They flood the market with a dizzying array of only slightly different models and all they end up doing is confusing the consumer.
