With how outraged everyone is, it sounds like Bambu is the only printer mfg. Don't like them or what they are doing for their target audience then dont use their printers. There are so many other options. My opinion doesnt matter though. I havent been printing long enough to get a say. A little over a year. I dont know the struggle, i didnt fight with z-offsets and tramming with a piece of paper. Thank you for your video. I do appreciate the calm approach to the subject vs. what else im seeing everywhere. Only time will tell what will ultimately happen.

I bought one, and my feelings about this machine are mixed. After finding all the information that's missing from the (really shoddy) manual, I can put it to work quite reliably. But it's not that good without proper handling. Maybe fine for those having lots of experience, but not for beginners. Getting to the nozzle and cleaning is a chore, though …

Its great as long as you get a machine that works. Sovol customer service is the absolute worst. You are better off buying from someone else.

I've been happy with my Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro, another fast Klipper bed slinger with steel motion control components. The SV06 Ace came out almost a year later and seems even more beefy, with a camera. There's a lot to like in the SV06 Ace. I can see using them for a print farm. One of my biggest reservation is that @Microswiss doesn't make a hot end for it yet. That was a great upgrade on my SV08. I'm very interested in a Co Print. I looked at your other videos and you apparently haven't made a Co Print video yet. I checked out their website and apparently for $290 I can add a four filament change system to a Klipper printer. That actually looks reasonable. I seldom want to print in color but I'd like to be able to print functional parts with different materials although TPU is one I'd like to print in addition to PETG or PET-CF, or possibly ABS/ASA, but these feeders don't work with 95A TPU.

Hey i do not understand the subject, might be a dum-dum. I just acquired a bambu lab 3d printer, haven't opened it yet. Does that mean i can't print without having an internet connection ? Or owning a 3rd party splicer if i want to because of this update ? I just wanna be able to control it via a LAN connection, does that mean i cannot anymore ? I'm trying to understand, thanks for the answers people.

Guestick is perfect, it's low tech, it has enough adhesion to work on models but is weak enough not to risk the plate, it's super cheap and it is water soluble which makes it economical, a damp cloth can reactivate it for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th print, and makes it easy to clean wipe the plate clean with the same damp cloth.

Calling it a "turnkey" printer is stretching it a little bit. It's a Creality printer so of course it comes with a bunch of tiny issues you have to spend hours tweaking and fixing before you're printing as advertised....IMO I've had mine for a year now and while it has been a workhorse. It also has been a source of headache when it works just fine one day then the next day it decides to go rogue in some fashion. Then you spend the whole day fixing it to have to repeat the whole thing next week. Maybe that's my luck or maybe that's Creality idk for sure, but I have most definitely pushed through some rough patches with my K1, I still love it and what it can do for me.

I think Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro would be one of the best printers of 2024. It's like a cheaper and smaller version of Bambu Lab P1S in my opinion ;) It has a very good print quality, easy and fast hotend swap, internal air circulation, which helps heating the chamber and keeping unwanted particles inside (actually filters them also). The only downside is software department, hardware is great.

Chill guys. It's open market. New devices would not sell if comunity not accept it. And for those who already have Bambus, I bet at least few smart persons will find a way to hack it. In thinkers and diy paradise this is not a problem. Car manufacturers do this, consoles do this 15 yeas already. And it depends. When i was younger, It was brain excersise to unlock every device, now..., I could subscribe if its a good service.... Am i happy about that? No, but i dont care anymore until a point where you count how much all subscriptions cost in total, And cancel bunch of them. All these boards and all these boards even have uart or swd headers with pins already soldered, so who cares. All the software these devices is baced on, Is open source... Always was suspicious about bambu, even rfid spools from them... I believe they had this plan from begining. Stll using old marlin2 printer which i like to use. Its slow. But i can leave it in next room during night with doors shut. I like how it not depend on any other device. Just save gcode to card, and leave. Its stable, never fails without user error, most adjustments is done during print, which is not good practice. But i like that outlaw aspect of it. Other one is costum core xy with klipper. That one i like abit less, but use more=] its lan only, but i could access it from outside if i decide to. Anyways, still considering a1mini so will wait where all this heading.

I think you've gotten part of why this has blown up so much in five words - "People who like to tinker." You'll hear that echoed in a few other creators who talk about the 3d printing community - there are those who love working on the printer, and those who just want to print. (It is, of course a spectrum.) The "It's a whole bunch of tinkering but you get a cool print at the end, might take a few tries" appeals to the tinkerer, who - as you pointed out, though not directly - sees the whole thing as three separate parts. And they don't like a company possibly locking something down. I've said elsewhere, I'm pretty much of the "give it six months" mindset. Either it'll be "oh, it's easy to get orca and prusa and Jim's Super Slicer to work with this and doesn't affect my workflow," or someone will have hacked a way through it to give full functionality back. Or Bambu will be in a tailspin as far as marketshare. I don't think it's the last one. It's like the Linux community, frankly. Some people will absolutely demonize (say) nVidia because their drivers aren't open source, others will just shrug, authorize the package and use them. (There are other reasons to demonize nVidia - and not to - but that's beside the point.) They've got the same "open to anyone" roots, after all. For me personally... years ago I was far more on the "tinker" side of things. (Not with 3d printing, that wasn't a thing then.) Built my own PCs - still do - and was willing to run multiple OSes, argue their merits and flaws, hack my way through them and find hills to die on. Now? While I keep a somewhat wary eye on things, and am not fond of Apple's everything-proprietary-can't-upgrade approach with Apple Silicon... I just don't have the time or energy and just want things to work. Do I believe Bambu's security excuse? .... eh? I don't think anyone's going to break in to use my printer, and if I wake up to someone having "hacked" my account or printer to - what, print a penis for laughs? Make the bed that's already fairly isolated hot? I'll be annoyed, report it to bambu, change a password or three and be on my way. Bambu's got their reasons and plans, so does every other company, all we can do is watch at the moment.

You people use smart phones every day that contain absolutely all info about you that apple and google and all the stupid apps you download can access you data. You agree to everything that they ask you so you could use your phone. They have data where you go when you go, images off all the people you know, all the stupid sh you text with people, all the info you do from day to day, all the info you do and watch on your phone and now you are worried or complaining about your 3d printer. Really? You let your phone collect all that info about you and your family and friends and now you complain about you stupid printer connecting online? What's wrong with people?

I’m deciding between these two machines as a first-time 3D printer buyer. I’ll mostly be printing everyday items-smaller prints and practical solutions-so I think the P1S might be more than enough for me. However, I’m also into collecting movie props like helmets and similar items. I have a couple of big projects in mind for the future, such as printing life-size statues and a fully wearable Iron Man suit. These will require significant post-processing, including gluing, sanding, spray painting, and more. With this in mind, which printer would be the better choice?

Mine just arrived and the test models print perfectly. However, when printing larger models the filament stops extruding. So, when you leave it at 20% and all is well then come back five hours it has not printed anything else. The filament just stopped. I asked Artillery but it's New Year there so no reply for at least 2 weeks. Any ideas? Thanks.

I think of Bambu Labs as Apple and all the other brands as Android/Linux. If you want premium, polished, and user-friendly then go with Bambu but if you want to customize and tinker then go for those other brands. This video kind of alarmist and just creating more drama IMO.
