I’m pretty sure the open packs just had weak crimps at the bottom. The weak crimps opened in the shipping and handling of PSA. Even makes more sense that they were all typhlosion because the came back to back off the factory machine that gave them weak crimps.

No point in excusing them and accepting the mistake, no matter their situation, no matter the volume of things they have to do, if they reduce the quality and create issues that's on them and they need to correct it. I think part of the problem is that these cars grading services need to keep a mystique to them. In the end, the actual service they provide is quite small, but the value they give to the cards is big because of a perceived authority. What would be most interesting getting the exact same packs/cards graded by all the different services and seeing how they compare. Get it graded, take it out and get it graded somewhere else, etc. that would really shed some light as to how subjective the grades are

people actually get the same card graded over and over until they get the 9-10s on it. The grading is pretty subjective, especially when the card looks good, you just need luck and find the guy in the company that gives you the high rank.

I had these desert storm card packs that were sealed. I had four of them. I picked one up and gave it a little shake and the cards started to poke out and break the seal. I tried it with the other three and they all opened up pretty smoothly. I think it was a poor seal mixed with age that caused it to dry out and open. Your packs looked exactly how it looked like with my desert storm cards. Not that quality is the same but just thought I’d share a similar experience.

Got back a 130 card sub from psa yesterday with two slabs just not sealed at all. The case halves were just pressed together lol. They were from Oct 2020 so I'm just glad to get them back.

Some employee prob busted them to see what cards were in there and if any good ones swapped them out. There's absolutely way too much power given to these two grading companies when at the end of the day it's all subjective speculation.

maybe they had air in the pack and when pressed (either in shipping or when they were examining or slabbing it) it popped open, since the same art work on the pack would probably be run on the same machine, hence why only that art pack is open.

Exactly what I thought too. Air pressure building up in an airmail transport. Those packs may have had more room in them and weaker glue, off that particular artworks pack printing / packing run.

PSA and BGS quality of service has dropped since this whole backlog thing. It’s almost like QC doesn’t exist. So many obvious mistakes overlooked. I submitted a $250 super premium service card with BGS and the slab came back with smudges on it that I can’t wipe off because they’re on the inside of the slab. It’s been 2 weeks and no response from customer service. Unacceptable for the premium prices they’re charging.

kinda sounds shiddy but you need to start weighting your packs before you send them in, if they ship back crap like this you can match the weight of what they sent back with the weight of what you sent them. The opening looks so precise that it doesn’t look like it was opened by hand. It’s possible the adhesive weakened overtime considering the age of the packs. The cards could have shifted during shipping and/or excessive handling and caused it to break the seal.

I feel like they were packs that just weren't sealed as well for whatever reason and when they're examining them they check for resealed packs. So when they were checking for that they came open and they assumed they were resealed.

That is so unfortunate. PSA has been all over the place. I helped a buddy score a psa 10 1st edition lugia through them and it came back with a damaged scratch that was not there before. They claimed it still warrants a 10, but it is a complete eye sore and psa refused to fix or make it right.

You give them a shit ton of business and when they finally fuck up and you had enough you take your business elsewhere. If they ask why you don't send cards anymore you tell em how absolutely horrible the customer service and quality control has been the past x years. yeah these card grading companys all suck, they do not give a shit about us the customers. BGS sent me a slab w tiny bubbles inside the plastic and they did absolutely nothing to help or fix the complaint. they just do not care because they keep getting our money. they laugh at us all the way to the bank. also the old packs from WOTC had issues w pokemon and MTG so it may have been factory bad sealing. which nowadays would be refered to as tampered with when it actually came from the factory like that. one time i opened a mtg pack and the cards inside from the sealed box looked like they were thrown on the factory floor scuffed up and super dirty and then put back in the booster pack. weird shit happens

Fyi the open packs u should check what's inside because the packs of mine that were opened had cards that were not from the set put inside and had the rare cards missing psa has been having employees open surten packs steal surten cards and put fake or cards not in from the set in the backs. Psa is literly a joke when it comes to how trustworthy they are the company is so money hungry they heads and employees would sell their 1st born kid or family members for a quick payout if they were legualy aloud the company went to crao shortly after they replaced managers as well as some of their higher ups after that the company because as trust worthy as a gamestop aka nit trustworthy at all.

Probably weak to begin with then shipped sat in the heat for a few days then in a warehouse for who knows how long being moved around then the person handles them I can see how it could happen but you shouldn't have been charged
