‪@RobbyLayton‬ broke my truck. Or maybe my truck was already broken and he tried to fix it for me, I can't remember which..
But either way, I got the ‪@onXOffroad‬ bus towed back out to Robby's shop to continue with the modifications and build.

Not that it matters I'm 100% on the side of liking Robbie Layton AND Cassie LaDelle! No time for B.S in this world. Just tell it like it is! I think you both have a heart of gold because you both do things for others, NOT FOR VIEWS OR ALGORITHMS BUT BECAUSE THATS THE TYPE OF PEOPLE YOU ARE! I'm 100% disabled from a tractor trailer accident and I can no longer work which for me is depressing as hell! I loved working and driving tractor trailers and I was good at it until a defective tire took it all away. Watching the two of your videos help me not to think of my own problems for at the least the length of the videos and I thank you for that.

Hi Casey, My husband and I really enjoy your "content." In the good old days, I'm 74, when it was unbearably hot and we had no air conditioning I used to carry an icecream bucket with some water in it, and some well worn towels. A wet towel around your shoulders and the window open and you could get pretty cold. Always good in an emergency.

Shades of growing up and 3000 mile drives cross country in the back of a 70 Ford Torino wagon with no AC. I recall losing a retread out near Burns and sitting in the shade waiting for a new tire to be mounted. Thermometer on the side of the building said 110f in the shade. God damn you hit the bane of my existence when I was a 18 year old fuel island kid. Some ass scrubbing his truck or better yet his fifth wheel with one if the 2 window scrubbers we had and the Arab owner bought replacements 2 or 3 months after the net wore off and it was floppy sponge. No way. He says clean it off. I wiped the grease off. Just let customers complain. Bigger complaints when the super truckers (you know bought out all the chrome lugnut covers and every light to put on his trailer the shop had) cried louder than my grandbaby does. Then we know that is an hourly thing. If you ask am I considered a super trucker to everyone around me well if you have to ask it's you.

One presumes that the truck stop truck envy can only be assuaged by the acquisition of another truck. Given that CHR is expanding it's workforce, I expect in the not too distant future to see a 3rd Western Star in the yard. This one outfitted with a long wheelbase, a nice sleeper unit. a cut-down Zacklift 5th wheel setup, and really really good working AC. I am sure that truckers are like cyclists and motorbikers, the perfect number of vehicles to own is N+1, where N is the number of trucks/bikes/motorbikes you currently own....

It could have been worse, Casey. My tuck, the a/c didn't quit working, all 8 zones worked fine, except one. The diverter door actuator broke, so even set a 60, the driver seat got 100% full on heat the whole time. I fully understand the whole parking it until it's fixed thing. Fortunately I was able to fix that in the yard in short order (after waiting on parts). Hopefully you get her back on the road quickly and without too much money. 👍

Had to come on here and say thank you for confirming a suspicion of mine I’ve always had which is that I admire others vehicles at times and even go as far as doing a build out of what I would do if I owned that vehicle. I catch myself doing this all the time, if I had this or that I would put this or that and equip it with this that and the other. Glad to know I’m not the only man with that mindset.

On July 19th, took a day trip to Mt Rainier, hitting the NW/NE entrances for a video project and it was great running the AC the whole way. It was warm up in the mountains. However, it was not as hot as what you had to endure, but glad the Western Star did the trip without a hitch otherwise.

That is something that you can dream for is one of those large sleeper trucks, just have the frame lengthened to the wheelbase you need to put the ZACKLIFT you want on the back. I drove for an Owner Operator who had his trucks leased onto Ranger Landstar and the truck I drove was a 355" wheelbase Peterbilt and the sleeper was 144"ARI unit. It was nice the only thing I ever needed a truckstop for was fuel. Having my toilet, shower, kitchen and queen size bed with me at all time was really nice.

Sure the air temp was 104 but at ground level on the highway in traffic in SLC the temp was more like 120-130 so that 110 wasn't out of bounds. That is just me being a weather geek. Peace Out. Robbie should have cut you a piece of plywood for your passenger window with a square cut out to fit a cheap 5000 btu home AC that could run off an inverter.

Or a portable one with just a hose piped out the passenger window and some stuff to close up the air gap in the rest of the window. Where there's a will...

we carry a small stand alone room a/c unit and a inverter in the sleepy for incase the a/c quits. We also use the little room a/c when parked on shore power or small genset. The little a/c unit with the dryer hose exhaust works great. I even have one in the back seat of my dually (fummins) for that truck does not have a/c.

You have an Ecoflow and you have a microwave. You should consider getting a spot chiller for times when your AC goes out or it just can't keep up. It requires an exhaust point but I think that is doable. As for the whole haters watching this and that, it's not even something to waste your energy on. Keep doing what you do because the loyal love the content. Just learned about Robby Layton from watching Matt's 4x4 offroad games and thought the dude was cool! Checked out his channel and subbed to it.

Casey I don't usually respond and after seeing a couple of the comments I now know why. I am not the kind of person to start an argument or talk bad about anyone on their video. I enjoy watching your videos but I am not a regular although I am subscribed. I would tell you to stay strong but you already have the D bags handled. One day if I ever roll through you neck of the country I hope to stop in and say hi.

Lol the key thing. My Dad had a friend who hid his spare key in the air cleaner-under the locking hood. Didn't work out so well...

Yes, I once locked my spare key in the locking glove compartment! Fortunately, my girl friend was really good at picking locks!

You can still get the key from underneath the hood when it has a locking Hood all you have to do is lay down reach your arm up underneath the Hood from the bottom grab the cable and pull on it and it will release the hood so then you could open the hood and get into the air cleaner very very easy situation I have done it many a time how do you think they open the hood if the cable breaks

Since high school in the mid 1070's I learned to put a spare door key and toolbox key in my wallet. Can't really do that with a fleet of Cascade Heavy Rescue trucks.

Spare keys don't always solve the problem. As a kid (1960's) our dad had an old Cadillac with absolutely everything push-button electric. Including the hood and door locks. We boys loved playing with the buttons. Managed to run the battery down to the point where you couldn't unlock the car (exterior key worked a solenoid, not a mechanical linkage) or release the hood. The only way in was to get under it and run jumper cables to the frame and positive lead on the starter solenoid.
