Add Newt Gingrich to the list. In addition Reagan was a hired mouthpiece for General Electrics for years to preach the gospel of American capitalism. Naomi Oreskes wrote an interesting book - The Big Myth - how American business constantly influenced for decades the public opinion. Reagan was one tool among others, but a very effective one.

Yes they both denigrated government programs and wanted to privatize as many functions as possible. Reagan did support NATO and supporting democracies around the world. Reagan did demonize 'welfare queens', AIDS victims, etc.
