Kirk the player was never the problem. Kirk the contract was. Kirk+Hunter contract this season = Greenard, Van Ginkle, Cashman, Tillery, Gilmore, Griffin, Darnold, Jones. All starters... You can't have a middle tier QB making top tier money. That was Kirk's problem in MN his contract ate too much cap which led to poor depth.

Sunday April 10th 2024 game on the line 4th down Kirk again throws to a covered receiver below the sticks. Game over. Atlanta is the 2022 Vikings, a team with holes because the QB is eating up too much cap for his actual tier and the QB failing to even try to make the play required. I will take 3 interceptions Sam Darnold at $10m and a defense that gives up 143 total yards for the win over $45m Kirk Cousins and a roster full of holes any bleeping Sunday. Fin…..

We'll address our other problems this next offseason, at least partly, but we respected Kirk Cousins play, it's just that we didn't have a future as a roster under him and his contract (as well as Danielle Hunter), all that money for no playoff success, we have a better chance at future playoff success because we don't have to pay for an expensive Quarterback, which will allow us to afford a good Oline, a good defense, etc. Nothin on Kirk's play, but Kirk ain't Tom Brady, and yet he wanted to get paid like he was despite lack of post season success.

Wasn't a big fan of kirk when he came in.. Vikings should of sign Case for a 1 more year after 2017. Kirk took way too much chunk of our money that he didn't do much but just his stats.im glad he's no longer our problems but wished him well. Cant wait for our new qb jj 2025. Skol vikings!!❤

This is a horrible and uninformed take. Vikings owners, staff, and fans have never claimed Kirk was the problem. Kirk played great. An injury ended his season, during a contract year. Vikings offered him a contract, he declined to test free agency, he found a better offer. The problems were donashell, turnovers, and cap space. They still need to fix the turnovers.
