I’d like to know your sources on Jeantys stats. Secondly- Gordon, Bush and Henry’s rushing yards, include a conference championship and bowl game. Jeanty is 341 yards away from passing Berry sanders. 300 away from passing Gordon 280 to pass Smith 55 yards to pass Marcus Allen. Conference championship and at least a bowl game to pass Gordon. I think he does it. Also Jeanty has been taking hand off behind a second string center and right guard for 97% of the games this season. Both original starters in those positions have been taking reps in practice for weeks now and have been rotating in the last two weeks. And are going to be starting on Friday. When the were both in. Jeanty was averaging 5.5 before contact. Add that with 6.5 yards after contact. I have a gut feeling Jeanty is going to go off on UNLv.

This is not remotely a late slide. There is no both sides on this specific play. He was clearly sliding five yards up from the defender. That's enough to pull up. All the former players see it this way, so trying to be contrarian to that is frankly a bit asinine. This is also his third late hit this year, he's absolutely a dirty player and it was clearly intentional and thats why he was suspended. You should really do more research on the actual players and situation involved instead of just seeing a play where a QB is hit while sliding and trying to shoehorn it into a discussion of late sliding, which IS an issue. But you have to be smoking something strong to say this is that kind of situation. The solution to late sliding and the fake out of bounds runs is very simple. If a defender is three or less yards away when the slide is initiated, not a penalty unless there is head to head targeting. And if a QB begins to slow down as he angles to the sideline, then tries to cut back inside, he should be ruled down. Looking at you Patrick Mahomes.

Trever is trying to have his cake and eat it too. People can hate this take all they want but he's far from the only QB that does this. It's a QB taking advantage of a rule that protects him while also trying to secure the first down. A defending is trying to tackle him. Also, for the people saying "he adjusted his elbow", you're ignorant lol. He's tackling a player. Take his elbow away and whats left to tackle with? A chest bump? Or are you saying he should spear him with his helmet?
@kyletucker381119 сағат бұрын

@Archbizhop18 сағат бұрын
@kyletucker3811 ah yes, the "genius" arguing about something I never said. Unless you'd like to show us where my comment called it a late slide. Trevor chose to run for extra yards with an incoming defender before sliding. That doesn't mean he slid late just as much as it doesn't mean it's a dirty hit. They made a rule to protect QBs that isn't perfect and this result is an example why. Oh, and I'm sure Trevor getting absolutely murdered by Al-Shaair leading shoulder first into his helmet is exactly the argument you were aiming for when you made that ignorant comment, right?

@@ECG_FBYou really should, because there's no way to look at this and say with a straight face it's a late slide. He's five yards from the defender. The fact virtually all the former proffessional players who have looked at this have agreed it wasn't on Lawrrence, should make you seriously reconsider your stance. He clearly had time to pull up. NFL players are not normal people or even football players. They are athletic freaks with insane hand eye coordination and reaction speed that normal people cannot comprehend. Therefore what you might look at and view as an unreasonable window to react, is perfectly reasonable at this level.

I am absolutely tired of the constant protection of QB's. They are players and are on the field. I have zero issue with this hit, or others done on scrambling QB's. In fact, most of the calls they get while scrambling are absolutely BS because if they were RB's they would be judged differently. Well guess what? Once they start running, they are considered an RB and given completely different protections. Want to change these types of hits? Once the QB or RB starts gives the impression of sliding no tackle or touch needs to be made, they are DOWN. Then you can actually remove some Bills wins, some KC wins etc. because these QBs are thriving off "Not giving themselves up" and getting 10-30 more yards because the defense doesn't want this penalty. I value the player making a tackle/hit well over these absolute baby QB's they make today with the protections they have.

The sole issue is the elbow/forearm, in every other hit like this we consider dirty like this one(the ones on Bridgewater and Flacco) the defenders never led with their forearm. i can understand it's a bang bang play and you try to pull off but hit the head when he slides but here there isnt an argument for that, he lead with the forearm when he didnt have to. The best solution to this(targeting calls in general) is that whatever position of the depth chart the player injured is the opposing teams player shouldnt be allowed to play either. You target our QB1 and we lose him for the rest of the game? You lose your QB1 for the rest of the game too.

Napier has not been doing bad and only impatient Florida fans or the uneducated casual football fan thinks he has done a poor job. They are a competitive team once they figured out to start Lagway and they have battled injures + doubt all season yet he kept his guys bought in and now the tune around the program is changing. He was actually doing a great job most of the time and their recruiting has been good. The only negative I can see is they play in a conference where every team is super competitive and even tho a healthy Florida probably wins like 10-11 games in the Mountain West Vandy probably would too and look how they both perform in the SEC. Tougher competition is just the trade you accept for the recruiting benefits and stage you get to play on

Let me preface this by saying my comment is intended to seek input, more information, & clarity - not to give my opinion. What should the defensive player have done? If you slow it down, the principal point of content is the shin. It's metaphorically & literally a moving target. The D-man is taller so if he hits high it's a much higher chance of R.T.P. or targeting. If he hits knee Sanders is out for a year. Bit higher he hits em in the 🥜🥜, & that's not gonna be fun. Bit higher and its a few cracked ribs. Higher & its potentially a hit to the heart 😬. Higher and it's R.T.P / targeting. QB's pump fake on the run all the time so you can't assume he's actually throwing it & not gonna tuck and run. D commits right before the ball leaves QB hands & objectively does a pretty good job of taking QB's legs out so the force sends him spinning instead of caving in his knee or ankle or etc. Now I understand that can be attributed to luck, however that begs the question even if the defender misses where he aims, it could still result in a dangerous hit. All that being said, what was the defender supposed to do? Thank you in advance for y'alls time and to the channel's creator 🙏.
