It now history as she ran 10.70 to win last night's heat. Her race last night was not the best technically. Her start was not smooth and she wasn't first out. That actually added to how impressive her win was for me as she recovered, maintained her new form for the last 65m of the race and accelerated away from Brianna and company. She's clearly working on lowering her PB so her camp doesn't seem to be worried about these fast times so early before the Worlds.

I don't think the mind game really matters. Because, all the athletes are going out there with one thing in mind, and that is to make the team. Yes, they know that winning the trials will give the winner a hype, but it doesn't mean that the winner will be the world champion. The big stage is where it really matters.

Shelly is working on her execution, Walcott has made some changes and they are beta testing, after the drive phase and pickup she turns on the after burners .... Her side running mechanics is very upright giving maximum velocity to her top end speed endurance. Shelly can go 10.48... that's her target. Don't sleep on Elaine, she loves being underdog position. Shericka has improved her first 30... I strongly believe that the 3 main protagonist has improved and will run faster than the times they did in Tokyo .

@Oral, well, as we now know, Shelly-ann ran a 10.70 seconds in the 100m at the Jamaica National Championships. She needs more races to be race sharp. She won't run the finals. She said it in an interview that she would just run the heats and or semifinals just to get a little more race sharp. Remember she has only ran 2 100m since the year started so it's a good strategy to run in the 100m to be more race sharp. No mind game Oral....I follow everything that Shelly-ann Fraser-Pryce says. I think she should do the double, run the heats and the finals for both to get her body used to the double up or see where her body is as to hold it will hold up with the doubling and then she’ll know how to manage that or make adjustments for the world champs. Don’t see what reason her camp would have to be intentionally playing mind games with the other athletes, they’re top athletes who should be focusing on themselves and their race. I think her camp is just taking things one day at a time and making decisions based on how the body feels on a given day.

Shelly should run the 100m I think. Shelly has not ran against any of her main competitors all season. Both races she did this season, she was pretty much running against herself and the clock. Racing with stiff competition is different and it would be good if she can line up with the best of the best. When Elaine starts running you down during the last 30, can you keep your form and do the things you've been taught in training? It would be good for her to experience that now instead of for the 1st time at Worlds.
