Did Showcase Mode Fail WWE 2K24?

I did the same thing. Still got 2 more until i’m finished but i don’t want to play that.

Yeah those objectives made the showcase matches longer than they needed to be. It was fun to look into past wrestlemanias, I just wish they handled the objectives differently.

In case you didn't understand their was only going to be 21 matches in the WrestleMania Showcase. You can't fit 39 WrestleManias in 21 matches

2K took over AFTER 2K14 was already finished... So what you're actually experiencing is the difference between how much THQ valued their fans compared to how much 2K values their fans.

@@MrAjking808 For the past couple of days, I've been playing WWE '13, published by THQ and released in 2012. I find it more enjoyable than 2K24.

There was always a distinction in wwe between a casket match and a buried alive match. Buried alive has always been with the dirt over the closed casket.

What bugged me so much about this mode there were people who were literally ON THE GAME! That even if the matches were a repeat from 2K14, could’ve worked! Then for Rey Mysterio they literally had his WrestleMania 22 attire as a dlc. Plus the objectives stuff you mentioned made this mode irritating. I ended up playing on easy just to get through these objectives quicker without the AI constantly reversing just to get this mode over with.

To be honest i like it to me its a history lesson that you can play through i like that they give you a direction to go in that follows the actual match ive been able to show my nephew some cool things because of it so i dont think it failed at all

I see what you’re saying. Don’t get me wrong, I really like this game. I think it’s a step up from 23. My only thing really was the showcase and how they basically skipped 20 years worth of wrestlemanias. That, plus the high amount of objectives. I’m glad you and your nephew enjoy the game too tho!

I am impressed with how well they captured the way each respective Wrestlemania (that they let us play) looked, they looked just like they did on TV. I also love the cuts from the gameplay into the real Wrestlemania clips, but all the other nonsense objectives suck. I haven't finished it, I'm at the women's triple threat, and I can't be bothered with it.

Because 2k14 was the last wrestling game made by THQ so it felt like wwe13…2k14 was just produced and illustrated but 2k

After playing the showcase, I have to say it was a bit of a fail. The match selections weren't as good as 30 Years Of WrestleMania and I get why because of roster limitations and 2K didn't want AEW guys in the WWE games but still guys like Edge put on banger matches at WrestleMania.

Heres the actual problem with showcase mode. Its BORING. Lets compare this showcase mode to last years for example. Cenas was on the better side because the idea was genius, his biggest losses. (RIP Punk vs Cena MITB). You are constantly fighting Cena, and he is telling the story, you feel invested with the gameplay, plus the match selections are fun. You have a hell in a cell, a TLC match, an extreme rules match to start off the mode. Into the Super Cena fight which was awesome, and the 4 Icons of WWE fatal 4 way match also great. It had a lot of investment. This showcase mode is you, replaying through "40 years of wrestlemania" with your best friend Cory Graves. With 2k14 it was 30 years of mania. And felt like it as every match had its own designated promo and story. You were invested in it. Unironically from a game I haven't touched in 10 years I can tell you the story between Andre the Giant vs Big John Studd at Wrestlemania 2. Because I remember the promo package they gave it, even noticing all it is for is a body slam competition. Compare that to Bret vs Roddy, he told the story of the Hot Rod finally winning his first title, but it felt a lil bit odd that Bret challenged him I think? I stopped caring because I was tired of hearing Cory Graves, I wanted to feel the wrestlers energy in that promo, in that moment. That excludes the fact that he also explains the "Wrestlemania moments" rather than the moment playing itself out, he is more of a distraction than anything and then there are the matches. WWE 2k24 want to not have the same matches from 2k14 mania mode. Then there is the disrespect of them not putting in Rey Mysterios mania moment, one they couldn't put for his own showcase since Kurt wasn't available to be in the game, finally is their chance to do that. Na, we don't have time for that, thats OLD news. Lets skip Rock vs Hogan, because that was in the old game, even tho its one of the most iconic mania matches of all time. The matches they chose are bad. Eddie vs Kurt I think should not have been in the mode because the story brings up terrible memories about Benoit. But its hard to be invested when a lot of their matches just are kinda mid, don't feel fun to play, and feel like a chore as you have to listen through Cory over and over again.
