Sorry this took so long. Been tryna get this vid out for like 3 hours. Anyways, hope y’all enjoyed the video. Currently working on a next one. I’m stuck between NBA 2K14, God of War 3, and Smackdown Vs Raw 2008. We’ll see what happens. How did y’all feel about NBA Live 19?

As someone that not only Loved playing Live19, and followed *ALL* news that came out about a possible follow-up, allow me to offer a bit of insight: The reason why there was never a Live20 is twofold: 1) The sales were much lower than anticipated. If you search KZbin (or internet in general) you can still find videos of the development of Live20; most notably the motion capture aspects. However, towards the end of development for Live20, the sponsors/shareholders dropped out, and EA no longer had the necessary funding to finish development 2) In response to this, EA canceled Live20 and decided to go with Live21 instead, however, with no legitimate funding, they tried to go "Free-to-play" but the NBA said *"No",* so THAT'S why we haven't had an NBALive title since 19. Tbh the suits on top (for the NBA & video game companies) are so out of touch it’s ridiculous. Iirc the reason there’s a yearly Madden is bc the NFL wants mandatory yearly games in their contract w/ EA. I wouldn’t be surprised if the NBA works the same. These execs treat video games like it’s still 2005 & are stuck in the past

Honestly, the suits aren’t out of touch, they just care about money. As consumers, we want so much without realizing that it costs money to make these games and the model isn’t sustainable. During PS1 when production costs weren’t so high, there were like 7 nba games a year. Not anymore.

even my friends that never played a basketball game bought this for 20 bucks and we had such a blast. Even tho it was very animation based and the shooting felt kinda horrible it was solid. If they improved on that game it would have been awesome

I still play Live 18 and 19 cuz I find it more playable/fun than 2k. Even with the gameplay issues like basically all inside shots goin in, certain animations being wonky or forced, team AI, etc. its still more enjoyable to play. I only play 2k for franchise mode cuz its deeper than Live's.

Shiid love franchise mode gives u points to foor each player performance u could literally turn like Ben Simmons into a 3 or god with top handles and passes u also unlock traits that u can equip them with trust it's deep just gotta pay attention to the notification for traits points u can see on the screen with all the players

Players that never shoot 50% end up with ridiculously high efficiency, playoff series simulations are never close to realistic, no logic in free agency/the draft/trades. It’s just a deep game with plenty to do but far from realistic.

Honestly, if 2k added NBA Live 19's defense system, the game would be so balanced. Live 19's multi-player was fire, and you have so many courts to play through online. I only have 2 problems with the game: 1, it is way too easy to get to the rim. It's almost unstoppable, and 2 when you try to make an updated roster, the game doesn't save your players' faces or attributes. So even if you customize your player, he will look bald, so you can't even update the game. The game had a great shot meter it was so easy to green if you were open, and the game has no ghost contests. The contest system was very balanced, and if you were contested, your green window goes away completely. You can still hit contested shots, but it's not likely.

Tbh honestly I loved nba live and tbh I didn’t stop playing the game because it was bad live was always a solid game to me on my opinion I only crossed over to 2k because that’s what most of my friends was on plus 2k16 was my first 2k game but my first basketball game was actually nba live 16 plus there not as money hungry like 2k is (don’t judge me😅) but I don’t like to spend outrageous money on a basketball game just to get my player up so I just stuck with nba live but I already knew the 2k bullshit was gonna happen until 2k18 came out that’s when the bullshit started to make its entrance into the chat

The thing I HATED about Live 19 was how the opposing AI would stick to you like glue in single player game modes. Pick and rolls, dribble moves, nothing could set you free. Otherwise the game was quite fun inded.

Actually ea basketball series started in the 80s for the arcade and they were the most fun then when they had lakers and jam titles that were kinda the same and they changed the name when home consoles came out and I remember at the time the arcade technology was way more powerful than the home consoles in the beginning but live was always more arcade and fun let you have full control of your player but 2k is good and always took advantage but they were a player friendly company and weren't known for being so money hungry and aggregious they would make their games discounted with great gameplay creation great for the time and free and the controls were perfect and not animation heavy where you can't control everything like now since about 2017 is when they started the money hungry garbage they're on now which shouldnt be for a yearly release

For me the competition ended in 2010 with 2k11. I feel like that was the game that crushed the industry. EA never seemed to recover after sitting out that year. Its funny I grew up on EA bball games dating back to the early 90s Versus series(ie Bulls v. Blazers/Lakers V.Celtics) games going into NBA Showdown and NBA Live. Even messed with their March Madness games. But along the way stuff just kind of fell off. I think NBA Live 07 put a bad taste in my mouth. I ended up getting 2k8 when I switched to a 360 console(later in the console's cycle). Then 2k11 dropped and won me over. I feel like the presentation aspects and immersion as well as the gameplay did it for me. I only wish that we could have gotten a few more college hoops games because College Hoops 2k8 was the pinnacle for me. IF the NBA license stops being exclusive, I want EA to make an earnest attempt at winning back some of the legacy gamers that do remember how that series used to be. I also would love to see them try to work on a college bball game(Tho I don't think its actually profitable). I just like the idea of competition in the market. Same with the football side, I want 2k to be able to make NFL sim games again.

Some things i dont like about the one mode is when you play in the league you have to sit and play every single game you cant sim and if you do you wont have stats and you dont qualify for any awards. Another thing in the league it gets repetitive and its like they dont put nothing new in the game after the first season often times they use the same script like you can be in your 10th season getting welcome to the league and first game messeges.

NBA LIVE 15 was Horrible, NBA LIVE 16 was good and definitely a huge upgrade, NBA LIVE 18-19 were great. Dribble animations felt the same for every player in NBA Live 16 but even with that factor I can still go back and play Live 16 over 2K16. NBA LIVE 18-19 were way better than 2K18-19

It’s easier to get a layup or dunks rather than threes? Duh. Live is a real deal simulation- that’s why it feels slower after playing a cartoon game like 2K. Live is a far superior game than 2K that’s why a game that’s 6yrs old servers are still packed with people playing. Contested threes go in all the time it’s actually really annoying. On 95 shooters with late to the party I can accept it but 85 shot wing scorers popping shots with a hand over their eyes should not be making threes with the consistency that they do.
