First week of ashenvale (ally) we had a bugged game around 4am. We had 1 boss we couldn't kill because it despawned mid-kill and horde had all ours down with only moonwell left. For a full 50 minutes we defended moonwell. General chat was cruising with people full RPing like it was war. It was likely one of the first bugged games the server had seen. Since 2019 classic i don't think I've witnessed such an excited/happy group of sweatlords getting no rep and spending almost an hour enjoying a 200 v 200 battle just for the fun of it. Horde would regroup to make a big push, then change strategies and send a decoy group then flank with a larger one. We had hunter and rogue scouts reporting positioning and self appointed 'raid leaders' cordinating in general "DRIVE THEM BACK TO THEIR HUTS!" The layer was lagging so hard you wouldn't find you were dead till sometime after you already were. I'm normally horde and i know they had to be having just as good of a time cuz they never gave up and kept trying new ways to get at the boss. The battle ended and people were going nuts about how this bugged game was more fun than any version of pvp currently available. Many were hoping/speculating that devs were/had to have been watching the madness. If they were- they got one hell of a show. I'm thinking with this dev team that we have, they've been taking notes and stv is gonna be an awesome world pvp event.

Prayer of mending absolutely gets pushed by renew. I use rank 1 renew to move it in the party / raid. It doesn't work if they are full health but it does work otherwise

was trying to get the defias messenger for the deadmines quests and asmon showed up so we almost gave up on trying to get it and we ended up sniping it from him and then a friend who heard about it came over and took it from him lol

if self found is just an insanely fun way to play the game then i think it should be seen as an investment where players will eventually get other players to try it out and that can help subscription retention when there are content phases that leave lots of players feeling burnt out

Banger episode thank ya'll I love SoD, but I'm on both sides of winky's fence. I don't want cata to die because after SoD is over it'll be about time for Mists of Pandaria. And I've been waiting since 2019 for MoP sooooo Edit: if cata doesn't lead into MoP it'll feel pretty devastating

I think you need to prepare yourself for a likely scenario that MoP isn't going to come. Wrath is already a ghost town and no matter what anyone says, its not because sod killed it. Cata classic is the bridge to what is not classic. Just because it's a defunct expansion does not make it "classic". Mop is retail through and through. Granted it's retail when retail was good, but retail nonetheless. The classic run is coming to a close and that's a good thing. It is going to force blizzard to make some serious movies

They were talking about how they would like to see the 40man left the same diff and turned to 25man why 25 man i think 20 man would be better then you alrdy have 2 10man that can merge. I never understood the 5 extra people they added why not keep the increments even?

i've been running pugs with my partner and we were hesitant about running with a rogue tank but we also really wanted another kicker for kelris so we brought one on and that was by far the fastest and smoothest clear of bfd we've ever had despite also having two dipshit hunters that didnt listen to directions in discord. rogue tanking seems really cool as long as you have another tank for ads/aoe

The hacking/cheating will kill SOD if Blizzard continues doing nothing. Every single "Booster" on my server is now fly-hacking through the dungeons to pull & kill mobs without even being hit. We checked about two-dozen boost-groups last night, and literally *_every single one of them was fly-hacking._*

Disagree. Making an Era wrath server does nothing. No one's going to go into ICC indefinitely to farm LK on a 30% buff. Shit would get boring insanely fast. There'd be almost nothing to do. People already raid logged that xpac hard as hell. Adding an Era server would just be worthless. Cata everyone crys about yet half the people "quit before it came out". They have a plethora of changes coming for cata this time around and if they don't interest you that's fine but they are quite interesting. To say cata killed wrath is just incorrect though, full stop.

Wrath killed Wrath. The ToGC phase murdered peoples stamina. They went from being able to complete raids on 6 characters in one day to raiding on one character for 8+ hours a week and either not completing the raid or settling for normal LK kills every week until the buff came out. The lite schedule of the previous phase allowing more freedom to play other stuff, other characters, or get off the computer entirely, to having to grind ones dick off just for one character in the next was the straw that broke the burnouts back. SoD was a reprieve but its not the reason. Wrath just burned out. Cata needs to be the final Classic progression chapter or the whole Classic family of games will fall out.

100% agree, people needed to be prepared for how bad p3 is when considering playing wrath and pacing and tone down the play time. Having the last patch talents and changes did not help either with how many people were meta slaving without the major class changes from the original game

I really can’t stand the min/max mentality in WoW classic. It’s such an easy game, especially SoD. PUG groups for BFD, a LEVEL 25 RAID, go “LFM BFD be 7/7, bring Shadow protection pots, FAP, know fights, discord required, link gear.” Like bro calm down, this is supposed to be fun. This ain’t a full time job. This is turning into retail…

I laugh at those pugs. At the start of the game we did like a half guild run, no enchants, no prebis gear, no consumables (except for food and a few hp/mana pots), no optimal comp and we fully cleared.

Because yeah the top top end top 10-20% Of players have to go through a lot more But your average jo You can do Is normal to heroic rating Fairly easily. All mana based tanks need huge nerfs is just that simple, feral tanks are perfectly fine, just need rage management. It's the fact that they do 80 dps as a tank and all mana based tanks do 120 to 160 dps. Warlocks being the worst offender with life tap allowing them to do no actual mana management

Personally I just dont think someone like Winky adds anything productive to these podcasts. He hijacks every conversation to just preach his version of 'casual elitism'. He is completely out of touch with the normal classic player experience and thinks his takes of 'OMG I took a shadow priest doing 32 DPS and it was so fun and EZ' are somehow revolutionary. Its just pretty annoying to listen to this playerbase who thinks they're so accepting and open not realize their obvious hypocrisy. They sit around being mad that some people make raids with certain standards, screaming 'JUST LET EVERYONE PLAY HOW THEY WANT, ITS A 10MAN LVL 25 RAID HURDUR' while not realizing that they are just as guilty of trying to force their playstyle onto people who dont wanna play that way. Who cares if someone runs a GDKP, or checks gear, or wants to know your gearscore (and for reference Im a feral tank who hasnt done any of these things). I just wish there was a bigger voice in the community for people who actually want to let EVERYONE play the game the way that they want to, instead of these groups who try and evangelize that their raiding style is somehow superior. IDK I get that a large part of the podcast is discussing the state of the WoW classic community, but rehashing 'OMG GEARSCORE BAD, GDKP BAD, BOTS BAD' is just so played out.
