Very knowledgeable. I'm a pool guy in Florida. Wondering if this will lower my usage of chlorine and acid? Save me money?

You might save a little on Chlorine, but you need at least twice the acid now to move the pH. Borates buffers the pH in both directions so you will use more Acid to lower the pH. I have more info on my instagram.

Great videos.. you can buy Borax and any grocery store in the detergent aisle.. It is not a replacement of chlorine but helps a ton with balancing PH.. on PH problem pools. As well as makes the pool sparkle more than you could ever get with only chlorine.. It really works.

Borax is the natural way to raise your pH instead of Soda Ash. You can also use Borax for Borates but you need a lot of it then you need to add acid to knock down the pH. I started out using Borax for Borates. Boric acid is the way to go.

Love your videos. What is the cost for a bag of Three Elephant ( Boric Acid ) at SCP Distributors? Between your videos and Robert Lowry’s videos and books. ( it sucks that we have lost a great man in this industry ). I have become a more complete pool tech, because of you and him. Thank you.

Love the vid! I'm about to take the plunge on Borates. Where can I get DOT? Also, what effect does the product have on TA as 20 Mule Borax pushes it way up, no?
@swimmingpoolchemistrydoner55694 жыл бұрын
Boric Acid no affect on Alkalinity but will drop the pH around 4 to 5 points. The DOT was a product in the making by Greg Garrett the top guy in the US. He allowed me to do a video on the product. He passed away about 5 months ago so I think thats the end of DOT.

Where can I get some of this for my pool.

Ask your local supplier if they sell Boric Acid. Boric acid is a lot less money and does the same thing.

Where can you buy that stuff and do you recommend putting in after the filter has been clean?

Im a pool cleaner - whats an app, even a one that costs money, I can use to get measurements on chemical demand? It would save me so much time and money to improve precision out here with a good app.

Follow me on my Intagram page I talk all about water chemistry. Hit me up there. Also you are not a pool cleaner you're a pool service tech. Pool guys need to lose that way of thinking. Chemistry is why you get paid netting and vac is secondary.

Dude broadcast not in the same spot! The instructions say to do it in the deepest part of the pool as well for the best results and least negative effects!

Do you realize that the product came the late Greg Garrett and he gave me that to try out and make a video with instructions on how to use it. I doubt you even know who he was. He took the video and showed it to all his students and other people in the business. So some nobody isn't going to come on here and tell me that he doesn't know how to use his own product. Go shill somewhere else.

So do u put this in instead of Chlorine? Weekly?
@drdrew32 жыл бұрын
It’s a one time treatment. Much like CYA it doesn’t breakdown or leave with evaporation. Just small booster dose yearly to account for splash out and the like
@drdrew32 жыл бұрын
Chlorine is a sanitizer. Borate is a buffer. They different uses - not at all interchangeable
