This is the best EV truck on the market on Oct 19, 2024. Lose the midgate and reduce the price without losing range, and I would be in.
@dvader32632 ай бұрын
Do you on a regular basis drive for more than 5 hours at a time without stopping for food, drink, snack or bathroom piss or crap break? 340 miles of range on the CT is plenty and works well. 330 miles of range on the Model Y works great. The Model Y was the best selling vehicle in the world in 2023. 1.8 million Teslas were sold in 2023. That's more EVs than Ford sold in trucks. As far as towing, most people don't tow. If people have a giant heavy RV and tow cross country, they'll use a heavy duty diesel pickup truck, not a light half ton pickup.
@30smsuperstrat2 ай бұрын
@dvader3263 Like I said, the GMC/Silverado is the best EV truck today, hands down. Last I checked, my Model Y is NOT a truck. And yes, my half Ton truck pulls my 26' trailer up and down mountain passes all the time. I'll rip by F350s rolling coal like they're standing still.

@bobbyr80712 ай бұрын
They can’t drop the price because it has a $40k 200kwh 4k lbs battery 😂😂😂
@darpompie43542 ай бұрын
@@bobbyr8071 Exactly. The battery is way too expensive for them to compete after the rich folk are done buying. The 450 mile range is useless. It's not like it solves the problem that EV trucks suck at long distance towing. You are now carrying a ton more weight and it's much more expensive to fill in both cost and time. EV trucks are for contractors/people that don't leave town so the bigger battery is actually a negative. After checking them all out, I went with a platinum Lightning. I could get 2 of them for the price of a Denali or Cybertruck. Good call on not wanting the midgate. I was intrigued by it, but after seeing it in action, its a hard pass. I would never use it, it gets rid of back seat storage that I would use and boy does it ever make the back seat noisy. After checking them all out, I would rate the Denali the best EV truck at this time, but it's also the worst value. The Lightning (especially with the deals they are throwing out) is by far the best bang for the buck you can get.

Good review man. Any idea where the owner of the truck got that bed cover? As a previous truck owner, this familiar truck is VERY enticing. Just wish CT kept closer to it's original specs and pricing. I think that would have made it an obvious choice over this. Definite weak point, and a bad design, really. GM canceled the Avalanche for a reason...they were unpopular (aside from a cult few who loved them) and weren't selling. Can't believe they chose to bring it back in EV form here. I have a neighbor a few doors down who has an Avalanche. He loves it, but admits the mid-gate and rear window are a constant problem, and it leaks pretty much every single time it rains. He ended up buying another Silverado so his wife wouldn't have to smell the mold from the Avalanche being constantly wet and musty. And once you add the Florida heat, it fogs up...from the inside!!
