The flood story was added in a later version and was not a part of the original Epic. if anyone copied anyone gilgamesh copied from Atrahasis who also wrote of a flood WAY before the epic of gilgamesh. Also gilgamesh speaks of a cube not an Ark, if you actually read the epic of gilgamesh you'd would see that there is no correlation between the two except for the flood account, no same vocabulary or style or story structure, so the idea that the Hebrews borrowed the story of gilgamesh is highly unlikely when looking in a literary point of view. So there's your fact check

Did the Bible rip off the Epic of Gilgamesh? Was the Epic of Gilgamesh taken from any of the temple walls in Egypt? Idk about any of that, but I wouldn't even be lightweight shocked if it was.. The creation myth (the story of the birth of Christ) seems to have been taken from the ancient walls of The Temple of Amun at Luxor, Egypt. Those temple walls have been dated as far back as 5500 BCE. That would be around 7,500 years ago, and they're possibly even older than that. Long before the birth of Christ. I'm talking about the story of the birth and life of Horus. Born of a virgin on/around December 25, star in the east, adored by 3 kings, heir to the throne of the king of kings, was a great and wise teacher, performed miracles, was dead for 3 days, then resurrected, and much was rejoiced. Sound familiar? Jesus was not the first anointed God to share this same story though. Attis, Mithra, Krishna, and Dionysus all have the same allegory. All of them are depicted with a halo, or the sun behind/around their heads. A few days prior to December 25 is Winter Solstice here in the northern hemisphere. Winter Solstice represents the shortest sunlight day of the year. For 3 days the sun is at its lowest point in the sky. The ancients saw this as God's sun dying. Then, after those 3 days, the sun begins to rise higher with each new day, giving the impression that God's Sun has risen again (or God's Son is born again). Born again Christian? Easter takes place right after Spring Equinox. Easter is the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ. During this time of the year, all of the trees and plants come back to life. Coincidence? I think not. God's Sun is always with us. God's Sun gives us light, warmth, and life. God's Sun is the most powerful being in our world, and in our corner of the cosmos.

The only corellation between the two is the flood account which also didn't even appear in the original text of gilgamesh. Nothing else in the story is identical at all with Gensis. Please actually read genesis and the epic of gilgamesh before stating nonsense

@Supershamwow02 hello thats a humble reply. I have watched lots of documentaries on the subject I could be wrong could you? I personally have a strong interest in egyptology but more hands on , prehaps that's more like the orgin stories ? I also study the roman empire and its influences, does that have any relation to the original stories? The bible has been re written by so many. Are the jewish people the chosen ones? I except we can at least agree gaza is part of isreal and isreal was built by the jewish people. Prehaps you can guide me to a not to biased doc to watch in your favour?

@@MartialArtUK as a Christian unfortunately I can't do that. Because of coursed I'm Biased to my faith. It's perfectly fine to be into ancient texts but often times people will try to use other ancient texts or religions to try to say Christianity borrowed or plagiarized from others, the main argument they are making is that christianity is not true because they have a distaste for it and also because it's the world's largest religion next to Islam. But there are many biblical historians online you can watch and listen to like InspiringPhilosophy who make an effort to refute claims of plagiarism or false doctrines of Christianity. Much like the "Bible has been rewritten" rumor. The Bible has been translated not re-written. Has people tried to rewrite the Bible? Yes. That's why so many council meetings happened in early Christian history to try to find out which books were and were not true with other scriptures. And all books that were flawed and or tampered witth were thrown out of the original Canon.

@Supershamwow02 hello thats interesting, I don't actually disagree with Christianity it's a good faith regardless of history and of course with it . I like Christianity other examples are very tainted with biased towards race sex wealth. Here in the uk I can be what I want and of course acknowledge the cultures that got me this far . I don't think this video or idea that it is orgin is throwing any shade on Christianity its of a much later date. As for re writtern I think so a good example is the roman Bible hidden between the stones of a pyramid. That's very diffrent but again not really anti christian. Personally I don't like Islam thats a choice I can have from personal experience. I'm not particularly fond of the roman empire catholic church but again I live in tines I don't have to feel threatened by that but I feel islam is threatening. I think Buddhism and taoist is very interesting, again not particularly anti christian because more peaceful faiths. I don't mind watching a doc u are biased towards to get where your coming from . @billkar6479 if he is a legit historian that brings up provable facts while the other guy perverts facts to fit his own narrative or his "groups" narrative. Then you SHOULD listen. The epic of gilgamesh being the inspiration of the book of gensis claim has been around for hundreds of years. And while the same guy was in inspiringphilosophy's video he isn't refuting the guy personally he's refuting the long since debunked claim of gilgamesh being the inspiration for genesis. People like him just wanna stir up controversy and make christianity look like a sham. I see it all the time on tiktok, people making claims about christianity being fraudulent or evil by using popular athiest or muslim talking points which are either flat out lies or taken out of context. but the viewers believe it anyways because they either don't wanna read deeper into it, and or they already have a bias against christianity so they might as well believe it. Believe what you want but don't spread lies while claiming them to be facts.

Inspiring philosophy is not a historian. The oldest flood myths are the tablets that display the epic of Gilgamesh 1500-2000BC. Noah’s flood was not formed part of the testament until 700 BC.
