Because the depiction of sexual assault on hughie was a bit too long, realistic and played for laughs when the show has taken seriously every other SA scene especially the woman's Exploding penises doesn't really happen irl either Still a great episode tho

@@despairwaffle6798 Sure that’s a fair criticism, I don’t really view that as “going too far” though…more like they just didn’t execute what happened to Hughie very well. And to be fair, it’s hard to take any scene involving Tek Knight’s fetish cave very seriously. Like they play the scene of torturing tek knight for laughs as well…

I don’t think it was that bad, the way people online characterised it was pretty dishonest. The guy was not just randomly abused by a supe for shock value. He infiltrated a secret meeting as an imposter and it turned out the person he was impersonating was invited to join the weird kink fest hughey not knowing this was literally bad luck but he had keep his cover. The starlight deep scene at the very beginning in way worse by the same standard

That's true. The problem people had was WHY they did both of those. With starlight they were intending to address the problem with SA of many women in the film/TV industry, while with Hughie they were just playing it off as a gag. You can look up the director's interview about it if you want

I didnt and still dont think this was too far... I can even see the humor in it. Webweaver while a drug addict is also into the weird stuff they do at Tek Knights... so much so that Tek Knight even admits hes not up to Webweavers level... Hughie tries to impersonate him to plant the bugs and gets caught up in an unforseen bad situation... he tried not to break cover despite this while enduring something weird... its no more than that...
