cause you actually have REAL football players talking about the topic, rather than spectators. I love sas and skip, but at the end of the day, they are stil just spectators, they will never really know how it is on the field. whats makes undisputed so good at least football wise is that they actually have a host who's played the game so he actually understands it.

+Sports Talk With Geo I get American football is a extremely physical game with loads of physical hits to the body I get that, but constantly hitting players in the head to gain advantages is uncalled for. This can lead to concussions later in life. Cam Newton is a huge star in the game and also a target for many players in the NFL but trying to take him out is not the way to go.

Seems like a lot of people don't understand the point they are making. They aren't saying it's okay to head hunt Cam Newton, they're saying you have to hit him hard. The helmet to helmet stuff is not intentional. Some people really don't seem to get it. I think you're biased cause you're a fan of Cam Newton.
@roccodimeo5893
@roccodimeo5893 7 жыл бұрын

@xxhpaoihj
@xxhpaoihj 7 жыл бұрын
I don't think it should matter if it's intentional or not. If you hit someone in the head with your head the rule says a flag will be thrown and that's the problem here

No it's the double standard. They contradict themselves at 5:01 , if they hit ARodgers or Brady they would be blackballed. So why not call it the same to all QBs... Some people say it's dirty, by todays rules it seems like it is when it's not called the same. You can't revert the rules back for 1 guy
@mikeansley5306
@mikeansley5306 7 жыл бұрын
It's not just Newton that doesn't get calls. Roethlisberger gets none. Ngata broke his nose with a punch, blood everywhere, no call and it is no different today.

@doyothang2012 7 жыл бұрын
If I said I didn't mean to kill someone I can still possibly held responsible it doesn't matter whether things are intentional or not the result is still the same someone is getting hurt and you have to take responsibility for your actions especially if it's against the rules. You can't get away with things just because you didn't mean to do it, that's something you learn when you are a kid something you should know when you become an adult.

I'm all for a physical football game but the quarterback should be protected at ALL times not just by his team but by the officials , just because he's bigger than the average quarterback doesn't mean his calls should be given differently , the NFL should be embarrassed

Amanda, I believe the NFL does the best job they can protecting the quarterback, but it is a physical game. The problem with a more mobile, stronger quarterback is that you get them moving out of the pocket as a double threat; runner and passer. If your defense lets up or worries about a penalty, the QB could get a big pass play or run for a bunch of yards. No one wants any of these guys to get hurt. But the nature of this game is violent. The league will make bad calls and some mistakes, but they want to be careful not to over regulate the sport to the point where it practically won't be a contact sport. On a different note, being a sports fan as a man doesn't mean you act disrespectful to a lady making a comment. Remember, she's still somebody's daughter or sister or mom or perhaps wife. Being a man doesn't mean you act vulgar and disrespectful. This is just the dynamics of the game being discussed; try to articulate yourself in a decent manner. It's easy to type in profanity sitting at a computer or on a phone to make much of yourself.

Most of the head shots happened on pass plays when he wasn't trying to run the ball. You pull that crap on any other QB then the field is littered with yellow flags. Just because Cam is a big and tough QB who is capable of running doesn't mean you don't give him the calls you give to other QBs. I mean hell even though he isn't as big as Cam, Russel Wilson runs the ball a lot and he gets calls that they don't give Cam.
@wafflemaninspace5860
@wafflemaninspace5860 7 жыл бұрын
It's not just that he's bigger it's also how he plays. Cam is a big guy that can run so he scrambles or starts running that's when he's going to take hits. And I like what they said in this video. When two people are running at each other both moving it's extremely difficult to hit him in the head on purpose but when cam but when cam lowers his head and shoulder pad attempting to run over the defender that's when that helmet to helmet happens and that's no ones fault. He knows the risk of doing that and he does it. That's why most of them were not called as fouls.

5:10 = That's the point. Had the Broncos hit one of the NFL's precious QBs (Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers) then there would have been flags. There would be significant fines. There would be public outcry. Yet, when teams do it to Cam Newton (or one of the NFL's ill-be-gotten QBs) it's okay. Ray Lewis, "But it's Cam". Really? It's okay to enforce the rules differently "because it's Cam"? #AllQBsMatter #EqualEnforcement #FairPlay

John Smith "All dual threat QBs get hit like that get over it." Okay, so if you're a "dual threat QB" then the rules should work differently. Before you react, just re-read that statement. Here's the message you gave: The rules should work differently because of who you are. Your Logic: Dual Threat QBs don't need protection. Your Logic: Pocket QBs need protection. Is this what you're saying? Please confirm. Thanks.

+Caleb Cox I respect this so much coming from Pats fan because I thought I was being biased to the situation like I don't mind losing but come on man my quarterback out there taking headshots he took at least 5 late, unnecessary hits last night. No doubt we win if Cam is 100% but I mean if that was Drew Brees of Peyton Manning big head ass in the booth half their defense would've been ejected but Cam takes every damn hit and it's okay smh it's lame asf
@TomSNC
@TomSNC 7 жыл бұрын
Yea no man, it's obvious the refs are starting to treat Cam like Lebron,Gronk,Shaq where because they are so physically imposing they don't get treated the same as a Brees would. Normal things that would draw a flag on Denver vs New Orleans won't happen in Denver vs Carolina since Cam is big...it's idiotic and it really cost them the game last night, I know Gano missed but if you guys had gotten the flags throughout the game that Brees or brady would have got you woulda won

This is some bullshit. Yes, you have to hit Cam. You have to knock him down to keep him from playing his style. You don't need to headhunt him. You don't need to try to concuss him. You can't even hit running backs or receivers like that, so you definitely shouldn't hit quarterbacks like that. I don't know how you can possibly validate straight-up headhunting in the pocket with Cam's physical gamestyle because all he's doing is dropping back for a pass.
