Tell your friends that has the coop to paint it now before the weather changes. The coop is not cheap, but the wood is the very cheapest and warps from any water. The thick paint seals the wood and the edges and keeps the water out. Tell them good luck with all the chickens and prayers.

You can dye silkies. You can use food coloring and water and spray them lightly. Most people do it with watered down easter egg dye, and spray it on with a spray bottle, for Easter.

You should let MaryCarl paint that set of metal shelves in the greenhouse. It’s so fun to have bright colors in the garden. Food coloring is another safe way to dye the chickens. You two are a perfect couple. You have such a good sense of humor and attitude

Nugget's so precious. he may seem to scare all the smaller fowls, but you can tell he's real careful not to trample them and always slows down. I used to be kinda scare of emus and ostriches, but the Nugz made me realize how sweet they can be.

My grampas favorite grits were allowed to congeal in a bread pan, then he sliced 'em, fried 'em crispy on both sides, and served them with a fried egg on top. And...I'm waiting for you guys to go outside and say "I thought we only had ONE emu!"

I live in the Pac NW and we have regular sustained power outages. Make inserts filled with sand from socks or pillow slips and put near the fire or in the oven/grill in a metal bucket to put inside the incubator and cover the outside with multiple blankets and or cardboard. You can use a pan of rocks too. Good radiant heat source for brooder and coops too.
