Hi Mark, just wondering how the warranty works if your engine gets replaced? Do you just get the remainder of your existing warranty or does the warranty reboot to as new for the engine?
@scottgoodson51322 күн бұрын
No additional warranty if your engine is replaced. Factory powertrain warranty is 5/60. If you’re out if powertrain warranty and didn’t purchase an extended warranty, you’ll have a 12 mo Toyota parts warranty on the engine.

Out of curiosity how do these numbers hold up to the other big 3 Ford Chevy and gmc?
@TundraDude343 күн бұрын
No where near. The big 3 have the market covered, with the Tundra biting in to a bit of market share

I was just at my Toyota dealership to have my 2024 Tundra serviced. I asked my Service Advisor if they replaced any engines since the my last service. He replied " we just replaced 2 engines on two different 2025 Tundra's". I inquired how many miles did they have on the Tundra's, he said one had 63 miles and the other had 271 miles. I guess they still haven't fixed their engine issue yet. I'm now trying to decide what I want to get in it's place. Lucky for me I have no payments on my truck, but I know I will take a lost when I trade it in.

I took my truck in for service here in Dallas Texas last week, spoke to service advisor and told them I have one recall and it is the engine recall, truck is a 2023 tundra platinum edition, service advisor told me they haven’t released 2nd remedy for replacement so I asked them am I getting the replacement and they told me if the engine does not have any issues keep driving it until it does, so what your saying is am getting a new engine but why is dealerships here saying different, I went to 4 different dealerships and confirmed this and they all said the same thing so who’s lying here really, they told me when the 2nd remedy comes out we bring it in they drop the oil pan and check part numbers and if it’s the updated version they don’t replace it and if it’s the wrong part number they replace it, so honestly what do you think man??? Can you verify this issue am having here???
@TundraDude343 күн бұрын
As per the recall notice, if you are part of the recall (check your vin to make sure), “For all involved vehicles, Toyota and Lexus dealers will replace the engine with a new one at no cost to customers.” There are 4 total phases. If you are looking for peace of mind, you could always call Toyota Customer Care
