I don't know if it was the O-line doing better against the 49rs or they are improved but I know they did do better. Lucas just might have made it that much better for the offense but it seemed like Geno had less pressure on him and more time to get the pass plays done. It's very hopeful but I'm still going to take a wait and see with future games to see if they can do better with all the remaining teams. Glad they finally beat the 49rs....

Seeing Jalen Carter's absolute domination this season for Phila, and knowing that Witherspoon wasn't good enough to start at outside corner, so has been utilized only at Nickel, and knowing that had they taken Jalen Carter last year, they wouldn't have needed to draft Murphy with this year's top pick, I don't agree that Schneider's 1st round draft picks have been vindicated -- although I would agree that drafting SJN was a great pick.

@thospeterson no argument from me about Carter. The consensus #1 talent slipped over some vanilla off-field incident, and we let him pass by. Dude's a beast. I'm not giving Schneider an A+ grade for those picks. At the beginning of this season, they both started looking pretty underwhelming. The stupid pff grades for the niners game are just a little symbolic ray of optomism. I didn't know Spoon was deemed incapable of playing the traditional cover corner. I thought nickel suited his intangibles better for wildcard sh!t and simulated pressures. If you're right, as much as I love his style, then #6 is definitely bad value and an overreach. I hope you're wrong.

Happy to see some light at the end of a pretty long OL tunnel. Let's not forget, the Defense also held the NFLs No.2 offence (I think) to 277 yards while having a REALLY lopsided time-of-possession.

I have been very critical of the O-line. Justifiably. But there is no doubt Abe, Cross and Big O made a huge difference. BUT O-lines need to meld, mesh, move together to work. That kind of choreography only happens with time. PLUS those are only three of 7. That's right: the ends have to dance, too, at least every other play. We ain't there yet.

Don't get excited about the O-line. As soon as Bosa got hurt and couldn't return the Seahawks moved the ball. Before that they only mustered up 6 points. But a win is a win.

What the O-line issue depends on is can Lucas stay healthy. if he can then the sky is the limit as long as someone can convince John that OG is actually worth spending money on.

Show me a really good team with a really bad O-line. It's a fricken oxymoron. No matter how many talented weapons you have, no matter how "elite" your "franchise" QB is... if you suck in the trenches, then you suck. Period. The most important thing for the rest of the year is Lucas' knee. A playoff spot would be dope, but his knee is the key to everything. If it turns out to be a chronic recurring thing, it means dark days ahead. With Cross and Lucas, we can make an investment into the interior of our line in the off-season and maybe have at least an OK line to start training camp in 2025. Schnieder has a blowhorn in both of his ears from fans who are sick and tired of his neglect and minimal investment into the O-line. I think we're going to see some changes in his philosophy immediately. If Lucas goes down, that means we need to fix 4/5 of our line somehow and we're pretty much effed. Would, also, be great to see Oluwatimi grow into the role, and we could count on those three for the future. The fact that they felt the need to sign Conner Williams has me a little pessimistic about their assessment of him, though. I guess we'll see. The thing about bad linemen, is that their sh!tiness gets worse exponentially when they are next to other bad linemen. You can get away with a sucky guard between a badass tackle and center. Three bad linemen in a row makes for a nightmare. Would love to acquire a badass left guard during the offseason, but they're rare and highly coveted. Like good left tackles, those guys don't grow on trees.
