Luke 23 tells the short story of a criminal, commonly referred to as "the thief on the cross", who was crucified next to Jesus. Jesus tells the man "today you will be with me in paradise." Many Christians take this to mean that the thief would be with Jesus in heaven that very day after they both died. But is that a legitimate way to interpret this passage?
In this video we take a look at the story of the thief on the cross and 3 important parts of the story that we need to get right to have a good interpretation: "paradise", "today" and "kingdom".
