I would argue it more about just the costumes overall and the fact that ShiftUp stated it will be uncensored but then a day one patch was implemented to censor things like the graffiti, the amount of gore, and costumes. The counter argument is always about the sex appeal or boobs but the overall thing that many overlook is that it was censored and the trust that many had in ShiftUp was lost. If you censored one thing like gore or the graffiti then you are for censorship. Being selective ok with any type of censorship is still be ok with censorship even if you don’t plan to consume that media. Whether Sony force them or it was in ShiftUp we will never know but at the end of the day the game was censored and this is one of many reason gamers are losing trust with Sony and developers because of this.

I forgot about the watch dogs thing. I remember the Sonic Boom trailer to game controversy but they were able to “get away with it” as the trailer said that final product may not be like trailer or something if that nature

I wouldn't even call it a lie (for Stellar Blade I mean); most of the pre-release footage even has disclaimers that things are subject to change. Obviously I'm not talking the costume, but I think if you were alive for Watch Dogs (great example btw, it was an important moment for me as a young gamer lol), you can probably even ID certain things on sight in demos that just won't look as good in the final release.

People aren't complaining the game differs from pre-release footage, they literally had a patch that censored stuff, if you have the disc version you can play without the patch and play the uncensored game.

The uncensored copy of Stellar Blade is on the disc. If you install the game with no patch you can see everything uncensored, including the blood and gore effects. My argument is the company is working both sides for an eventual uncensored pc release. “NOW MORE OPTIMIZED FOR PC” will be the tagline.

In the version 1.0 (disk version) it is there, in version 1.1 (review copies) and day one update (version 1.2) it is changed. And he missed the “HARD R” joke, a hard are is a move term for a movie that is planned to be R rated, but the left have changed what they want it to mean (being a racist term)

I just want to play amazing game with sexy woman. Hell, even if she wasn't, I'd still want to play the game. Also, that bear costume is cute as hell and it's not revealing in the slightest. I've been a fan of Hyung Tae Kim since Magna Carta: Tears of Blood on PS2. The more I look at Eve and Lily, the more they look like they'd fit in that game. Also, Nikke has some hot guys from what I'm told and same for Magna Carta. So it's not like they just make sexy women.

Much of the stella blade argument is that Sony is being hypocritical again, as Games like Balder's Gate 3, Cyberpunk, and Last of us 2 can have full frontal and Soft Core level scenes and content uncensored, but gives last minute patchs to alters the outfits are removes to cool battle stain effects (getting covered in enemy dirt, blood and oil when slaughtering foes) unless you disconnect from the net to avoid the patch (any unrelated bug fixes are minor and the game played great). It like the surprise lens flare censorship in DMC5 all over. Many people don't care much for some of the skimpier outfits (myself included), but it a matter of principle in many way, athe same people care about Tarkov and or consumer interest topic.

I would be all for the "finalized- costume change if it looked like it wasn't just changed in the last week. The "Extra" fabric doesn't match the costume. The point wasn't no one's talking about it, the point was it muddy's the waters for actual issues. And I actually believed it's just changes they wanted to make, the "extra" fabric not matching, I don't agree with, and we have tons of more revealing costumes that didn't get censored. Shift Up makes elaborate outfits all the time, they probably were just like this ones too basic. Again, there's lots of more revealing costumes. If we got censorship on every costume I'd agree that was the reasoning
