Sounding lush Michael! The Plate and Hall reverbs are the best thing in this pedal. Those algorithms reminded me of the depth of the reverbs in the tc electronic M3000 rack unit. It's also cool that Wampler is offer a VST plugin with the pedal for free! Did your clean tone in this video come from the Friedman IR-J?! Your clean tone is lovely here Michael and has some very Vox AC30TB-ish vibes. Hysteria meets The Joshua Tree meets The Cardigans! That little moment there where you quoted "Communication" from The Cardigans made me smile. I love that song. If you were using the IR-J, it's incredible how much you made it sound like a VOX AC30TB at the edge of breakup. Peter Svensson from The Cardigans only ever used one amplifier and it was the Vox AC30TBX. For the recordings of their albums sometimes he went directly into the Neve console and direct to ProTools with a fuzz pedal between his guitar combined with the Neve preamp and EQ in the desk, or else he went direct through the Neve and then reamped the track through POD Farm on the Vox AC30TB model. I cannot wait for Dave Friedman to put out a Vox AC30TBX IR pedal. He's going to make a killing on that one from the praise & worship crowd, especially if it does stereo. Great demos Michael. Thank you!

Hey Michael, thank you so much for always keeping us up on great gear. Question: can you provide the settings for those presets? they are perfect
@BigHairyGuitarsАй бұрын
Thank you! You know what, I barely needed to turn any of the knobs. I used tap tempo on a delay, but I don't even think I changed the blend knob. The presets are just dialed in that way. Stock pedal presets. Each new one I went to I thought, "Dang, this is nice, I'll just use this!"

If you have a delay sound set and go into reverb and turn all the knobs, what happens when you go back to delay? Does it save your old settings? Not remembering what I had setup might be the only drawback here.

Hopefully these drop in the used market like the Terraform did. You can easily get one for $200 or less in the used market. Maybe this will be more popular and it won’t happen. I wish Brian luck but we’ll see how the market reacts. I think it sounds killer, honestly.

Going to ask you for a HUGE favor sir with some much needed guidance as well...I took your advice and bought the IR-J to go with my Soldano and getting the catacombs soon... However at this point, I want to just hear the IR-J through my amp ONLY via my pedal board...NO DAW, NO headphones but I can't figure this out....There is only an IN no OUT... I have read over and over the manual but how can I use this without an OUT for just using this though my AMP FX loop? Can it be done with out the passive splitter shown in the manual? All these demo's are great but for beginners like me with this kind of equipment, It would be be nice to see included in videos how you actually plug in the pedal with the available options on the back for IDIOTS like me...
@BigHairyGuitars25 күн бұрын
If I understand you correctly, you can go from the IRJ “send” into the Soldano’s FX “return”.

People go McDonald’s and Burger King, yet they sell the same type of product. It’s about the character of what each pedal provides. No, this sounds nothing like a Strymon pedal. Get it together. Such a weird take.
@jeffallen33822 ай бұрын
@@Eric-nn9xf "get it together"? Wow... Sorry I hurt your feelings by asking a simple question. 🤣🤣🤣
@BigHairyGuitars2 ай бұрын
Well, I don't think Strymon even offers a dual Delay and Reverb pedal. Sure, you can buy 2 pedals. The Strymon pedals would require 2 power ports at (at least) twice the mA. Can you get this kind of sound if you have a Timeline, and a BigSky. Sure. But The Catacombs can do great things in 1 pedal, low power consumption, with MIDI and presets, at the price of 1 Strymon pedal. I like Strymon too FYI, but I don't think they really offer anything that does THIS specifically.
