How has nobody discussed hardness yet? Hardness and pH are different properties of water, but for the topic in the video they are referring to basically the same thing. Water is an excellent solvent, dissolves stuff all the time, and in naturally occurring water sources, various salts are dissolved in water. Depending on what is dissolved, the pH of the water, which is a logarithmic ratio of the OH and H ion concentration in the water (forget which is on top and bottom), is then affected. Most natural water sources (though this does vary depending on which part of the world you live in) are basic, which is hard. (Basic water, pH > 7.0, ranges from 7-14) Generally the more basic the water, the harder it is. So, the concentration of dissolved salts in the water in PA is similar to the concentration in Italy, which also means the pH is similar. Though the pH and concentration of salts may not be the exact same, but would be extremely close, the dissolved salts (NaOH, table salt, is just 1 type, there are many different naturally occurring salts worldwide, different minerals/chemicals) may not be the exact same chemically. For the pizza dough, the similar pH (hardness/dissolved salts) will affect the dough during baking, this is what will make the bread taste similar to how it does in Italy. So, this may make you wonder, can you just make water have the proper pH without adding salts, so that you could use water from anywhere and just adjust the pH? You could, but the bread won't taste as you'd like it to, is a complex thing that you'd need a food chemist to explain properly, I only studied chemical engineering, so I understand enough to say we need a food chemist for a proper explanation. Molly I just want to thank you for a great tip you shared in a previous video. I was at sleepy hollow getting the fruit waffle and needed to find a place to sit. I walked past sleepy hollow and saw the sleigh in open gated area and I remembered your tip about the table and chairs behind it. Totally agree on perfumeries giving headaches - OUCH! Hard water has a lot of dissolved minerals in it - think of the crust left when a drop of water dries out. Echoing a comment below - when are you going to Disneyland???!!!!

Hard water has a high mineral content from having been in contact with (mostly) limestone. The resulting water causes white calcium buildup on faucets and shower heads, etc. It also doesn’t react as well with soap as soft water does. This must’ve been the most punishments Molly has received to date (?) I’m waiting for the international “trapped” editions.

Use a penny made before 1982 or they will deteriorate. That’s why so many pennies look nasty, they are deteriorating. You don’t want to use something that’s not going to last in a collection. If you collect those smashed pennies make sure you bring older ones to smash.

Perfume is one of my migraine triggers! Even worse than stores - sitting next to my mom or other church ladies doused in cologne. Even scented lotions do it, unless the scent is lavender or citrus. I smell your pain!!

I couldn't agree more, women with too much perfume is the worst. My favorite smell is no smell. I never wear perfume or smelly lotions. And agree that citrus and lavender are the only smells I can tolerate.

Great challenge! I also loved the masks portion. You should have included the video of your mariage proposal if there was one of course! 😉. Being a Canadien of course I would love that a future challenge be at the Canada Pavilion. You should buy maple leaf cookies and great story of the Leclerc family that became famous for there cookies in Quebec. And of course you have to say a quote in French Canadien (the accent is way different then the accent in France) 😉

The building that the crystal shop is based on is the Doge's Palace in Venice, not the Sistine Chapel and the Sistine chapel is also in Rome and not Florence. Otherwise another fantastic video! I love this pavilion!

Been to Venice and the Las Vegas hotel with the gondola ride, can comfirm the gondola ride is so much better in Venice. Cruising on the canals is so much fun. Also it's beautiful. I'd totally watch a video from Venice. Just saying . Also with the rising sea levels, Venice is in danger of disappearing, so you might want to go soon-ish.
