You maybe surprised how resilient these plants are. As mentioned in the comments, when they turn purplish it is due to the cool temps. You may have noticed a little plant shock and a wilted look. But again they should snap back. I am anxious to get some winter squash going in the coming days.

I use 4' fluorescent lites no special bulbs and they work great.

They should recover ok in the garden. I wonder if either the soil used had low nutrients, but also, some grow lights have different settings for grow and flower. Mainly LED types. Others use different bulbs for each part of a grow. 😊

I would say whatever soil they were planted in might be the issue. And or the lack of nutrient's or too much. Most likely not the lights.

Have you tried fish poop? I dilute some Alaska Fish poop to half recommended concentration and try to apply it twice as often. My plants seem to respond well to it. I believe your yellowing is from a lack of nutrients.

Cucumbers and Zucchini don't really transplant well. You can but it takes a hot minute for them to reestablish before growing again. Even if you think your Cucumbers and Zucchini are going to establish and grow, you should still direct sow some. It's an easy experiment and you can use the data for a future video.

Thank you for the advice. We ended up direct sowing some, and they are starting to come up!

@@TheArtofSelfReliance Nice! Are you going to do a comparison? I know a couple other KZbin Growers have. The transplant vs direct sow has always been a bit of a theory but the more people who replicate it the stronger it becomes.

Tomatos weren't transplanted when they should have been. that container is too small. (5 days after you see two leaves) they need to be transplanted to a cup or pot. your plants were root bound, they should recover...
