Why would they? The kids are in high school, never did anything like that before, and it's clear that the parents Do talk to their kids and support them. The mother was trying to get Viola to be interested in the debutante ball And both parents were at the game. Remember, this is Before helicopter parenting and bubble wrapping your kids. That's why the twins had the individuality to be motivated to take chances for things they were passionate about

Loved the reaction. Also kissing booths are super gross 🤢
@LA_HA
@LA_HA 2 жыл бұрын
(Edited) Well, previous generations weren't high-level germophobes. Cleanliness of person and environment was important, but there was a basic understanding that extreme aversion to interactions with other people wasn't healthy mentally, emotionally, biologically, or socially. Now, a lot of people don't want to even breathe the same air as everyone else; and simply touching people is strangely awkward. This is affecting individuals and society in negative ways that won't be fully understood for some time. Just another perspective. haha. Btw, kissing booths weren't for tonguing strangers. The kiss (done in fun for charity) is typically a very quick, very dry peck on the cheek or on/near the lips, like you'd kiss a relative. haha
@Cherry-rg6hm
@Cherry-rg6hm Жыл бұрын
@@LA_HA It’s not even just about germs. It’s about the fact that they’d kiss a stranger with no strings attached. Gross 🤮
@LA_HA
@LA_HA Жыл бұрын
@@Cherry-rg6hm I understand what you're saying, but I'm going to reiterate what I wrote. You're giving the vomit emoji over giving a stranger a quick, non-invasive, peck on the cheek or lips. You live in today's society and the way many people are brought up makes them fearful, creeped out, and bewildered about things that previous generations thought nothing about because no one got sick or hurt by the practice. You can stop reading here, but I have an example if you're interested... There's a scene in the 1996 movie, Scream, that perfectly shows what I mean: It's the scene when Sidney Prescott is in the principal's office with the police chief and Dewey. The principal puts his hand on Sidney's chin and lifts up her face to ask her if she's okay with answering questions. Almost without exception, younger people freak out. "Ew, that's so weird. Why is he Touching her? Ew." Everyone else don't even comment on it because they aren't fearful or creeped out by being touched. It's normal. And, we understand that the purpose of the principal doing that is to focus Sidney on him so he can see if she's telling the truth or not about the comfort level. He understands that she may feel like she has to answer the chief's questions, so he's assuring her that he's there to protect her if she doesn't want to. Sidney's perfectly fine with the interaction, but so many people have such a phobia about being touched by anyone, I'm sure there's a socialization difference between all previous generations and this one. Anyway, thank you for sharing your view. I appreciate it and have learned a lot

@@LA_HA Nobody knows what "today's society" means. Nobody knows what society was like "back in the day." We're all mostly blind for the first couple decades of life. Then our eyes flutter a bit until the end. You don't know what the current generation is like, nor how they compare to yours, at least in most ways and to a very high degree. Almost none of us have the necessary perspective, and we almost never get it, and even when we do - there's a limit to what's humanly possible. One lifetime is not enough.

Viola was Dukes second choice, but Sébastien was oneof his bestfriends. So he didn't have insta love with viola, he genuine liked her as a person because he grew to really like his roommate.
@HickoryDickory86
@HickoryDickory86 11 ай бұрын
And to be fair, Duke was crushing on Viola after the kissing booth and was gonna call her to ask her out on a date. Well, that was until Olivia threw herself at him at the gym in her vain attempt to make "Sebastian" jealous. Once she did that, Duke instantly developed tunnel-vision. And let's be honest, given that same scenario, just about every guy would take the girl who's actually there (and who he's been crushing on for over a year) over the mere chance with a new girl (who he recently discovered even existed) who isn't. A "bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" kinda thing.

I also had the same thought as Bryce about how Viola wasn't really Duke's first choice. Like they had great chemistry with the kiss and he seemed to enjoy it, but after that he was still so into Olivia that when she started coming onto him to make "Sebastian" jealous, he (Duke) completely forgot about his idea to ask Viola to dinner. It seemed like she liked him more than he liked her, especially because he liked Olivia so much. Also yeah the idea of a kissing booth is so gross, not just the kids or adults and old men in line to kiss a teen girl, but also to be kissing hundreds of strangers in a row spreads so many germs back and forth, potentially causing infections or disease - mono, herpes, colds and flu, etc. So gross lol.

This movies really messed with Amanda’s head cause she was already having issues with liking her body and having her look like a dude didn’t help. Also technically Viola wouldn’t be able to continue playing in the game since she isn’t enrolled at the school. With the last shot it can be played like that as long as the ball is still inbounds. If the goalie caught it then it would either end in a tie or a shootout.

Just One of the Guys From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Just One of the Guys is a 1985 American teen comedy film directed by Lisa Gottlieb and co-written by Dennis Feldman and Jeff Franklin, although according to Gottlieb, she also co-wrote the screenplay together with her writing partner Mitch Giannunzio but then was supposedly denied writing credit by the producers.[1] Just One of the Guys is a loose adaptation of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.[2][3] The film ranked number 48 on Entertainment Weekly's list of the "50 Best High School Movies".[4]

Sorry, I can't see a reaction to this movie without the urge to post these lyrics from the original play: "When that I was and a little tiny boy, With hey, ho, the wind and the rain, A foolish thing was but a toy, For the rain it raineth every day. But when I came to man's estate, With hey, ho, the wind and the rain, 'Gainst knaves and thieves men shut their gate, For the rain it raineth every day. But when I came, alas! to wive, With hey, ho, the wind and the rain, By swaggering could I never thrive, For the rain it raineth every day. But when I came unto my beds, With hey, ho, the wind and the rain, With toss-pots still had drunken heads, For the rain it raineth every day. A great while ago the world begun, With hey, ho, the wind and the rain, But that's all one, our play is done, And we'll strive to please you every day." From Twelfth Night, Act V, scene 1
