I cannot see piccolo above broly or the gammas. Simply because his best team he's not being used on. Gammas fully the purpose of support and are better defensive once piccolos guard is gone. Piccolo contributes nothing outside of his active. You could say that's his whole purpose and that's fine. Sure. But on his relevant teams do not need his active. So you don't use him. I see the 10th anniversary's mechanic being a tag mechanic. Similar to Legends, the unit can switch via Active every turn or so and maybe even switch types (AGL Goku -> Str Vegeta). It'll allow so much strategic building and will be good as long as these characters do NOT stack.

Wait why the hell would Vegeta and Trunks be at the table for best units in Dokkan history? They came out nearly 6 months after red zone was already out, even Ginyu, AGL Cell, and str Goku/ Gohan were flying through red zone by then. TEQ Cell Max dropped and they performed above average at best, TUR AGL Golden Frieza was allowed in that event and took 170k from a super "At least mine did with max raw defense, the correct build" which phy metal cooler healed off the next turn and even INT 3rd form Frieza was only taking 400k from a super. IDC if Vegeta and trunks had an auto clear ability in that stage, if banner units from the previous WWDC are effortlessly clearing THEIR FOOD, they're not even an honorable mention for the best unit of all time, even TEQ Caulifla is closer to a shoutout than they are. You don't become the best unit in the game by being really good at the content at the time, the 7th years KILLED ESBR's relevance and luaghed as UI Goku and Lr TEQ Gogeta drowned in the kiddy section of Red Zone. Even Beast Gohan has to sit back and salute when Orange Piccolo (who was over a year old on Supreme Battle Spectacle's release) shows up and shuts down each and every single boss that's supposed to be part of the "biggest power jump in the game's history" with no difficulty.

This may be an Hot take: The year 2023 has the worst premium unit releases since 2020, Most of them had Horrendous restrictions that made them either unfun, annoying, or borderline useless all, here is why per bad dokkan/legendary/carnival units: STR Super 17 (So many restrictions made him unrunnable while also his banner unit required Goku enemy to be good, but 0 difficult fights had Goku in them). AGL Kale (uber broken if fulfilled the restriction, but since she had 0^-9000 help it made her unrunnable, you can still transform which is the strong part of her kit, but they made it so if you didnt have an U6 unit, it would be at like turn 8-10 which would be impossible to reach with an underpowered non transformed Kale which most of her passive relies on it, its even worse because the guard and alot of stats is tied to the U6 restriction too, so you wouldnt even get good performance by her compared to what she can do). AGL LR Super Buu (Released in the same celebration as the unit that needed an U6 Ally and without an 200% team, and still was made with annoying stuff all over his kit) PHY Turles (His kit was terribly designed with that Goku family restriction when 100% of difficult fights were villains, and he was underpowered even with it himself, his team was not an problem but him since he got the agl ginyu treatment) INT LR Spirit Bomb Goku (He had only 1 event he was usable, the saibaman aoe event, that's it, with also already 2 base gokus released in an span of 3-4 months) AGL LR Omega Shenron (GT Bosses restriction, that's it, that's the only line of the kit that made him 100% unrunnable everywhere, without it he could have been an good unit since he had spots to do so) TEQ Super Trunks (Remember what i said about AGL Kale?, it's the exact same thing but to an worse degree in the restriction and transformation, 3 Cell saga units for high chance to guard and 70% of an super, which mattered because the transformation is locked to 5 super attacks instead of turn 5 or something, making him useless without cell saga units no matter what you do, either you run 3 cell saga units for him to be garbage or he is 100% useless). AGL LR Blue Goku and Vegeta (They were only good in the Dismal future Red Zone because either you are using them for 4 turns, or they will 100% die for you due to how horrible the restriction is, specially considering their condition is an special kind of horrible that deserves to be thrown at the pits of hell, not 5th turn of battle, their 5th turn, which any newer event after the dismal future event they are useless). TEQ LR Zamasu (Day 1 he was massively underrated by everyone which did not make sense, because compared to the blues, he was actually great past turn 4, and even in the most toughfest events today he is still broken turn 1, however the domains are so terrible it massively drags this unit down, which breaks my heart and has to be mentioned due to how much this still affects Villain teams) INT Android 17 & 18 (They released during an period were Universe 7 had 0 units to bring into the team that wasn't over 2 years old with the exception of STR Blue Kaioken Goku, While also in the time were both of the toughfest fights had AoEs, which they were horrible against, them being released after both fights is what makes them an terrible release) AGL 21 (Same reason as 17 & 18, released after both of the toughfest fights had AoEs, but she was useless against them so what's the point to get her compared to Limitbreaker Vegito who TERRORIZED the game by himself because he was broken from turn 1 to 5) TEQ LR U2 Teletubbies (An TEQ Unit without guard, without any single defensive mechanic, annoying orb changing because they dont have high defense, so the orb changing is useless, terrible against AoEs when both of the hardest bosses in the game are both INT and have AoEs, screw you dokkan) 2023 was specially frustating for the community also because it started from the PHY Beastless Gohan incident which only stopped its negativity after knowing the theme of the 9th anniversary.

Here's my hot take. I miss when characters (not units necessarily) had identity through the mechanics of the game. Vegito was the character who countered normal attacks. Buu was the character who healed on orbs. Broly was the character with guaranteed additionals. The Super Saiyan 4 characters countered super attacks. Gotenks had the 11 ki super attack. And across the different units of these characters, you could find those traits coming through. Both AGL Super Vegito and PHY Super Vegito countered normals. TEQ ssj3 Gotenks and PHY ssj3 Gotenks had the big damage on the 11 ki super. PHY Broly and LR STR Broly had the guaranteed additionals. STR Gogeta, INT Gogeta, and PHY LR Gogeta all had type effectiveness against all types. It was so cool that the characters themselves carried these mechanics with them, it gave them so much more identity than the stage the game is in now where every other character has every other mechanic. Obviously the game had to grow out of that stage eventually and I think it's probably healthier for the game that it doesn't have to reserve mechanics for certain characters, but it was cool nonetheless.

Top unit are unit that can take on the hardest difficulty and good unit are the one who can take around 70 - 90% of the event. Cause there's just so much event that people can savour until they have to take the latest hardest difficult event. Possible hot take: The most broken mechanic that could release right now would be immune to status effects. With the amount of sealing, stunning, locking and debuffing these bosses are doing, it would be an incredible ability

Status effects are barely starting to be a thing bosses do but for now they just do it on super, once they evolve them to do it on the whole rotation then yes a unit like that would be broken. And this is why this game can never die cuz they slowly add stuff like that. Dmg reduction, built in guard, domain, taunt mechanic, rainbow/type orb changing. This game will never get boring or die but yea status effect units are on the horizon.
