Japanese Reeves Turtle is my favorite.! Omgauds, looks like a beautiful jewelry box! I had seen one before, but I did not know the name. Like, 40 years ago, at a wildlife park. There are so many species in this pen/ part of the yard! Can you do a video about cohabiting different species of turtles and tortoises? I’ve always heard this is dangerous especially when there’s a big size difference like with the radiated tortoises and these smaller turtles.

Baby Eastern Box Turtles look very different from the brightly colored adults. They’re mainly solid brown with a beige spot in the center of each carapace scute. When I first found one in the garden of our summer home on Eastern Long Island as a kid I actually thought I just discovered a new species! “Wicked” was the word du jour as all my friends were in awe of my new discovery (they had never seen one either.) I was disappointed when I learned it was just the tiny hatchling of a local species although my friends were none the wiser. My first life lesson that size does matter...

in my opinion the toughest turtles I've ever kept are Mekong Snail Eaters. They tend to not do well in captivity and sadly many die as a result.
