You inspired me to make a leather cover for my checkbook. I’m pretty sure the leather was not good quality as it was remnants but it is still useable. Snap is wonky but it my first attempt. Thanks for the inspiration!!

You inspired me to try my hand at working with leather. Although I had pretty crappy leather and not sure if it was correct string I managed to make a checkbook cover. Snap came out a little wonky but it’s useable!!! Thanks!!

What an awesome piece, and great job in designing and building as well. Would love to visit with you about 'upcycling" the LV stuff. I did a few things and never got a visit, but had an 'issue' with a craft sales page. So I didn't do any more. I would like to do some more, just curious about the issues the investigators may have shared. Thanks, Fred

So, with the new knife/blade holders coming out, you will have to show us a design for a leather cap/sheath. So I don't have a naked blade rolling around my small work table. Something that will stay on, be easy to index when re-inserting the blade (I will stab myself otherwise) and have a welt so we don't cut the stitches. Tall order. I am thinking about a design now.

I guess an idea for someone that was really concerned about getting a visit from some big company, one could make a different brand mark or an addition to one's mark that has the term "upcycled" included. (In addition to keeping a record of the original dismantled product.) It may not prevent one from getting a visit, but at least it would have a very visible element that shows your intent is not to scam or sale a forgery.

What do u use to finish vegtan leather? some vegtan looks dry and some could look so fresh.

A pocket on each side with a rectangular window you can use your thumb with to slide the cards out. No "pinching" the cards out. Just press out and hold on. One smooth motion. That'd be great

yep, just a standard card wallet design - put it in a pocket, stays closed on it's own pretty much as we glued it folded

Do you have a pattern for sale for this wallet? I sent you an email about having 2 of these wallets made from my mothers vintage purse but gave not heard back. If that’s something you don’t do then I was wondering if you sell the patterns and material list.

As he says near the end of the video. The leather he used will stain relatively quickly and within 2 months it should be pretty stained. So it should have a nice character a couple months later.

So if you're not a fan of the curved edge on that squeegee my wife made a humorous observation when watching this video: they're nothing more than a silicone makeup brush. You can buy all sorts of other shaped ones at any big box store that sells makeup.
